Cala Bona - Tip-Top..!!
Review of Cala Bona, Majorca by  Allybaba

Advantages: Close amenities/Friendly locals/Nightlife/Shopping/Food to suit all
Disadvantages: quiet at times and building construction going on as the area is seeing more touism

...Well lets begin, about 4 years ago now I went on holiday to this fantastic little resort, not through choice mind you. You see my friend and myself decided to pack up our bags, pick a cheap flight off the teletext and jet off to 'sunny Spain' - (Majorca or as the locals spell it Mallorca) for a week........ When we arrived in Palma airport, we were directed to the Rep as our holiday was an allocations on arrivial. Imagine our surprise when the Rep directed an ELDERLY couple to Magaluf and us to a place called 'Cala Bona'??!? After spending our first day finding our way about we actually found it to be very pleasant, with a beautiful harbour and the locals were so friendly. The beach was a beautiful cove of rocks which you could walk out on and made you feel very far out from the land. That night we decided to go to a little... Read review

Cala D'or
Review of Cala D'or, Majorca by  saffisticatedteen

Advantages: cheap booze, white sandy beeches, and great shops
Disadvantages: you have to go home at the end of your holiday

...Cala Do'r is split up into several bays from cala Serena to Cala D'or itself there all fantastic, With great sandy beeches, pubs, altough the main nightlife is in Cala D'or itself From sports bars like Linekars to traditional Irish Pubs and everything inbetween. It may not be as livly as Palma nova and Magaluf but what can you expect. The booze is quite cheap so you can drink to your haerts content. The streets are filled with people of all ages so there is bount to be someone there that you will like. During the day ( if you are up) there are shops full of a wide selection of souveniers and gifts for the whole family. I highly recomend Cala D'or for family's as children are aloud in some of the quieter pubs. I also recomend Cala D'or for students and other young adults as it is plain and simply teen heaven!... Cala Bona - Sun Sand and tranquility
Review of Cala Bona, Majorca by  prouk

Advantages: Sun, Sand, and just about everything else you could possibly wish for
Disadvantages: Each resort has it's own features so pic the resort thats best for you

...It's 8.30am and you wake up to the smell of fresh baked bread, you open the balcony doors and step out just as the sun starts to rise above the harbour. Fisherman prepair there boats for the days trip and the locals are sat in the square just enjoying the wonderfull morning air. Where am I ? you may ask? well ive just stayed my first night in the Hotel Cala Bona In Cala Bona. If the above image has wet your apitite then you are in for a treat, Cala Bona is the type of place that just seems to move along at it's own pace - Cala Bona Time some of the locals call it, yes you do have all teh usual facilites you'd expect in any european holidays resort like cafe's and bars and even the odd night club. Most of the entertainment is hotel based but the hotels spill out on to the pavements and as you walk along the main street at night you... Cala D'or
Review of Cala D'or, Majorca by  bigstu299

Advantages: Great Weather - Lots to do
Disadvantages: None

...I have been to Majorca twice now and have immensely enjoyed the experience. Both times I stayed in a small rseort called Cala D'orada. Cala D'or itself is a very nice town, with some very good restaurants and a picturesque harbour, full of a fantastic array of yachts. The nightlife is also very good with very reasonable prices. There is lots to amuse yourself once you are there. Cala D'or has some very good beaches and there is accomodation practically on the beach if thats what you enjoy doing on holiday. There is also things for the energetic holiday goer. I have for two years now enjoyed windsurfing in Majorca, with a small fantastically run surf school. They cater for all abilities with great beginner courses and fun for the seasoned windsurfer alike. There is also sea kayaking and many other water sports as you would... Read review

Cala Millor Review
Review of Cala Millor, Majorca by  drdeg

Advantages: Relaxed, bars, restaurants, sandy beach, water sports
Disadvantages: Easily bored after the first week

...Cala Millor is a super resort for a rest on the beach. The sea has a gentle incline and apart from the palm leaf debris regularly washing in, is a great swim for all ages. There is a super little sandwich bar right on the front near the police building on the beach who's home made rolls to order and take away local drinks, etc, make it well worth a visit. There is plenty of flat promenade to walk, bicycle hire is easy. Cala Bona is at the north end of the beach and is worth an evening stroll. The promenade offers a variety of eating oppotunities,it is not difficult to ascertain whom each facility caters for, which was a blessing. For the Brit, a visit to Stokers Bar, the leather shop and Gorans short order bar ( all next to each other at the begining of Cala Bona is well worth the short walk. Cas Torrandor resturant in Cala... Read review

Get away from it all at Cala San Vicente
Review of Hotel Simar, Cala Sant Vicenc by  inejenn

Advantages: Peaceful resort
Disadvantages: Unsuitable for disabled and young children

...We booked with Direct Holidays for The Simar hotel in Cala San Vicente, Majorca, one week half board at less than 250 GBP. When we arrived in the resort there was nothing there except a couple of small supermarkets, three hotels, a few shops and three very nice sandy beaches. The Hotel Simar was very clean and the staff were helpful and polite and they spoke good English. Our allocated room was down several flights of steps with no lift so we asked if this could be changed. There was no problem and we were moved to a better room the following day, having asked at Reception as the Rep was not around. The hotel has its own swimming pool, a rooftop solarium overlooking the sea, a bar, restaurant, sun terraces and quiet lounge areas, there is also internet access. The food was served in a buffet and comprised of continental dishes... Read review

Hotel Cala n Blanes - Cala n Blanes ,FIRST CHOICE
Review of Hotel Cala 'n Blanes, Minorca by  babajack

Advantages: MENORCA A LOVELY PLACE TO VISIT
Disadvantages: HOTEL A LITTLE DISSAPOINTING

...that is checked by the beach staff so you will be warned if they are in the sea. Lots of people got stung but we loved the pool so it didnt spoil our time. 10 min walk to Calan Forcat - small water park, shops and bars. We hired a car and visited several small beaches - Cala Mitjana - hilarious for the kids as there were some nudists there!!! Lots of places for you to just stop on the road take a towel and dive into the sea. All in all we had a great time, the weather was a little cloudy at times and it was VERY windy in the resort but we all got tans and we made some great friendsd. ENTERTAINMENT - Good family fun, archery, shooting, killerpool etc. The grown ups got very competitive and we had lots of fun booing eachother at certificate giving time. Evening shows - some were good the african dancers and mexican show. Magic show was good... Read review

My review of Cala Font
Review of Hotel Cala Font, Salou by  dickodudes

Advantages: on the beach
Disadvantages: set on very steep hill, not good for wheelchair users

...I visited Salou in June 2007 and stayed at the CALA FONT HOTEL. This was my first time abroad, (I went as a single parent with my children ages 10 and 14) so we didn't really know what to expect, we arrived in the early hours of the morning so couldn't really see much, but it all looked very nice on arrival and through the reception. On waking in the morning we had the chance to look around, the room was clean and tidy, we had a view of the pool, but could also see the beach from our balcony, lovely views. The hotel is right on the beach and has it's own private beach, which is quite small really but a huge public beach is just around the back of the hotel. The food was quite good, there is a house chef who has a dish of the day which he cooks in the restaurant rather that in the kitchen, well it isn't really a "dish" it's usually... Read review

Sa marina hotel 'cala d'or'
Review of Sa Marina Aparthotel, Cala d'Or by  honoury1

Advantages: Central location, near to the beach
Disadvantages: Limited evening entertainment

...there is to offer. There are untold restaurants about 5 minutes walk away, with many bars & pubs, a few english pubs also. Plenty of shops ranging from clothes, leathers & souvenirs. The hotel lies just far enough away from the center so it is very quiet , even in the evening. There is evening entertainment which i would say is more catered for small children, & pool games is laid on by the staff daily, mainly pool volley ball. There is also pool towel hire for a small deposit. There is an indoor pool also & a gym. There are a few small sandy beaches near by, the best one is esmeralda beach, being the biggest one out of the others which serve drinks & snacks. This beach is about a 10 min walk from the hotel, & has plenty of sun loungers with grass parasoles, but are chargeable for a small fee. The main center of cala d'or all closes by midnight, so... Cala D'or - managing to do it all!
Review of Cala D'or, Majorca by  jow

Advantages: Lovely safe area
Disadvantages: Distance from airports and the islands waterparks

...I have grown up holidaying in Cala D'or. This whole resort is a beutiful area, with about 8 small cove beaches rather than long impersonal stretches that you get elsewhere on the island. The centre is entirely pedestrianised meaning the kids can play in safety. The centre is a mass of reseteraunts catering for all budgets and food tastes. I have never gotten tired of it and have found something for me as I have got older, enjoying the pubs and bars (although not many clubs) as much as I enjoyed the beaches and great pools when I was younger. The area is predominently English tourists as well as Scandanavian with lots of hotels and apartments to match nearly any budget - including the youth hostel! A great place easily accessible by road and quick to get to sample the "real Mallorca" away from the tourist areas, although it over... Read review
