The Cambridge Diet
Review of Cambridge Diet Drinks/Soups by  NCStarS

Advantages: Fast weight loss
Disadvantages: MIGHT be bad for your health

...I went on the Cambridge diet last summer and lost 3 stones. I was once 12 st 12 & I went down to as light as 9 st 9, which is a really healthy weight for my height (5 ft 5). I'm currently studying at university & since my exams began, I've put on weight again. I put on about a stone! This diet was really good though, but not the healthiest diet so I wouldn't recommend you go on the sole source of the diet unless you SERIOUSLY need to lose weight. What's sole source? You eat virtually nothing. It consists of 3 or 4 Cambridge diets depending on your gender and height (I will explain this later once I've explained what you can eat). One thing that I liked most about this diet is that there are different stages of weight loss. Once you reach your goal, you can go up the stages of maintenance. When I was maintaining my weight, I... Read review

Three years in Cambridge
Review of Cambridge (England) by  immortal_pheebs

Advantages: really beautiful if you know where to go
Disadvantages: really shoddy if you don't know where to go

...I spent three years in Cambridge as an undergraduate, and this is a guide of Cambridge about where to go! (but sorry, I can't give you information about where to stay because I just stayed in college...) These are the things that I really enjoyed! 1. The colleges (well duh!) but not every single college, of course. Kings College Chapel (admission fee needed) is really worth going because that ceiling is very impressive. St John (also needs to pay) is less impressive, but if you want to see another big college, then go for it. You will see the famous Bridge of Sighs, which is similar to that in Venice. Smaller colleges will have better courts, and Christ's College has a gorgeous first court with beautiful purple flowers in bloom from April to July, around the entrance to the Master's Lodge. Christ's College's fellows garden... Read review

The Real Cambridge. Where People Live.
Review of Cambridge (England) by  wulise

Advantages: Seeing the real Cambridge.
Disadvantages: It is a little run-down. Mind your wallet!

...This is an opinion of a part of Cambridge that many tourists miss. Did you know that Mill Road is the biggest third shopping area in Cambridge? Mill Road is a long road split in half by a railway bridge. It is an area of terrace housing and flats interspersed with businesses and shops, pub and drop-in centres. There are a wide variety of shops including specialist organic and ethnic, interspersed with the more main stream banks, pharmacies and even the post office. Mill Road has its fair share of problems. Mill Road provides a good example of the chronic; common resident’s problems across the City of Cambridge. Okay, so the police station is at the top end of Mill Road, but it does not deter the drunken lout or the speeding motorists. Many of Cambridge’s visitors never see Mill Road. Its shops are suffering with high... Read review

Corpus Christi - The Body of Christ - Cambridge
Review of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge by  bluejules

Advantages: *
Disadvantages: *

...When I stayed at Cambridge University last week with the Sutton Trust, we stayed in Corpus Christi College. This is just one of many colleges at Cambridge university. After arriving at Cambridge train station it was arranged for us to be taken to Corpus Christi by taxi. It took about 10 minutes to get there. We arrived at the Porter's Lodge where people from the Sutton Trust gave us an envelope with our room number and keys. I was staying in the Robert Beldam Building, which was about a 5-minute walk from the main Corpus Christi building. This didn't cause any problems but on the first day it was raining and we had to take our suitcases round (typical - it was sunny the rest of week when we didn't have our cases!) ~ The Corpus Christi Building ~ 'Corpus Christi' means the body of Christ. Corpus Christi College is one... Read review

The Colleges of Cambridge University
Review of Cambridge University by  ashford

Advantages: High scholastic standards. Many are beautiful
Disadvantages: Very competitive

...The University of Cambridge, one of the most famous and renowned universities in the world has a long and illustrious history, and is organised on a collegiate system. Many well known figures in history are graduates of Cambridge including Wordsworth, Bertrand Russell, LOrd Keynes, and former Indian prime minister Mr Nehru and nobel laureates such as AK Sen. What follows is a short round-up of some of its well-known colleges and their famous former students. Clare Clare College, is the second oldest college, originally founded in 1326 as University Hall. In 1338 Lady Elizabeth of Clare refounded the college calling it Clare Hall, it was renamed Clare College in 1856. It is one of the most beautiful colleges and is hugely popular. Famous alumni include Hugh Latimer (Protestant reformer), Siegfried Sassoon, Lord Cornwallis... Read review

University Arms - Cambridge - The Low Down
Review of University Arms, Cambridge by  CareBear

Advantages: central with good quality communal facilities
Disadvantages: expensive for the quality of bedrooms

...As many Ciao regulars know I have just got married and this is my first, and possibly most boring (!), review since then. It was always my dream, from a young child (1) to get married and (2) to go to university at Cambridge. I am now proud to say that I have managed both! What is even better is that as a result of studying in Cambridge I was able to get married there. Although I got married in Sidney Sussex, my old college, commerciality being what it is I was unable to hold my wedding reception there as the "might get a conference booking for that weekend" (clearly more lucrative than a wedding reception)! Still, I was determined to get married in college and so set about finding a suitable reception venue. +++ Location +++ Cambridge City Centre itself is pretty compact and so almost all of the major hotels... Cambridge - prepare to be underwhelmed
Review of Cambridge (England) by  bagoproverbial

Advantages: Shopping, nice architecture
Disadvantages: Not all it's cracked up to be

...Be prepared to be seriously underwhelmed if your idea of Cambridge is a glorious, posh, classy city full of culture. The bit by the river and the old University buildings is nice, there are some big open parks, and here are some splendid churches and other historial buildings dotted about the place, but I'm afraid once you've seen those then there isn't a lot left to see. The rest of Cambridge is drab, grubby and in parts really quite seedy, especially around the Mill Road and Arbury areas. Everyone I know who has driven in Cambridge has seen their blood pressure rise through the roof, as the road system is horrendous (although they do have a park and ride facility). and quite apart from that, the train station is literally miles from the city centre. You have to walk not only down Station Road but then down Hills Road, and trust... Read review

Cambridge diet
Review of Cambridge Diet Drinks/Soups by  Martinscholes

Advantages: A low callorie diet
Disadvantages: Tastes vile

...The Cambridge diet is the type of diet that is known as a VLCD or a Very Low Calorie Diet. On the Cambridge Diet you consume 415 to 1500 calories per day, on what I described as a flexible weight-loss programme. It is a Sole Source Diet, in that all of your vitamin and mineral requirements are provided by the diet regimen. You take the diet meals in the form of powdered shakes that you mix yourself, soups, chocolate coated bars and readymade drinks. The diet depends on the effect of Ketosis, which is the technical term for starvation. Men and women need 2,000 to 2,500 calories per day. The Cambridge Diet relies on the fact that your body will have to rely on fat reserves in order to provide energy. Unfortunately the first thing to be burnt off will be muscle mass and vital organs, so most experts believe that any VLCD should... Read review

The Cambridge
Review of The Cambridge by  richardjmeek

Advantages: nice out side
Disadvantages: none

...The Cambridge Pub Liverpool The Cambridge located just between Liverpool and John Moores University is generally a quiet small pub where some students hang out. Mostly the ones who live on campus and is basically their local. The Cambridge serves a good variety of lagers and bitters but nothing stands out as a classic beer of this pub. The Cambridge is one of the more expensive places to drink on campus but is generally cheap for visitors to Liverpool. In the summer the Cambridge is a very nice lace to sit out on their benches just of Abercromby Square which is a bit of a heat trap. I remember lots of enjoyable afternoons their. The Cambridge does not have a pool table or darts and rarely plays music is a place to go for a quiet chat.... Read review

I wouldn't like to walk to Cambridge from here
Review of The Cambridge Belfry, Cambridge by  shirley49

Advantages: walking distance from office
Disadvantages: miles from anywhere (like Cambridge)

...The Cambridge Belfry used to be owned by Marston but now it is Q and is there any difference? Well not much but some things were worse. Not quite in the league of fawlty towers but try having a hot shower! Wel
