The Music Live At The Blank Canvas
Review of The Music Live At Blank Canvas by
helen666
Advantages: High-energy groove-dance-rock-funk music - fantastic band!
Disadvantages: Mostly their old stuff - I'd like to hear some of their new songs live.
...This DVD is of Northern funksters The Music at their 2003 tour's homecoming gig at The Blank Canvas, Leeds. Through the clouds of smoke (dry ice?), coloured lights and oceans of waving arms and flailing crowd-surfers, we see the young dance-rock crew struttin' their groovy stuff across the stage. The first thing that struck me (as I have never seen them live before... hopefully I'll get to see them one day...) was how much their songs sounded like the studio versions: I'd always thought that a lot of the sounds on their debut album "The Music" required assistance from drum machines, synths, keyboards etc., but they don't. The Music manage to get futuristic dance music out of 4 boys with guitars!
Singer Robert Harvey's voice seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it thing (like Marmite): unusual, unearthly, unique, unmistakable, and suited...

Fast, high quality and cheap A1 size printing.
Review of Epson Stylus Pro 7600 by
Nathan.crocker
Advantages: Cheap cost per print and reliable.
Disadvantages: Epson support not great unless you have a paid business contract.
...This has to be the best printer available for large format printing, I have used a lot of large format printers in my printing business. The Epson 7600 has been the best quality for prints and most reliable printer I have bought. I've owned both Hp and Encad and neither offer the same print quality or speed as the Epson.
I have primarily used the printer for printing direct to canvas but have used it with other media such as paper and films.
Although the Epson printer is fantastic if you want to do canvas prints DO NOT buy Epson's own brand canvas roll, the print quality is good but the ink does not stay on the canvas and giclee varnish makes the ink rub off.
I recommend buying hahnemuhle or similar brand canvas roll either matt or semi matt and finishing the print with a gloss giclee varnish, the more coats of varnish...

Print, print and away!
Review of HP 56 - print cartridge by
dynamicnurse
Advantages: See text.
Disadvantages: See text.
...This review is on the HP (Hewlett Packard) Inkjet Black Ink Cartridge, which I use in conjunction with my HP printer for my computer.
I bought this one on this particular occasion in my local Staples store for £18.49, although I had originally gone in there to buy one of their own brand makes which are around £5 cheaper. However, you do pay for the quality that you get and yes you do pay for the name as you would expect with anything these days! I'm not being a snob, but sometimes I do just like to be walking down the road with a top brand name in my hands (even though it may just be an ink cartridge).
But back to the quality, and this particular one is the larger one of the two 56 series that HP now do for t heir printers. But this one this size, the packet claims that this bigger size can do up to 3 times more prints than...

HP45 Print Cartridge
Review of HP 45 - print cartridge by
richard_richard
Advantages: Print quality, ease of use
Disadvantages: Too expensive
...This print cartridge is designed for use with the Hewlett Packard P 700, 800, 900 and 1100 series of Deskjet printers. We have a couple of 840C printers at my work place and we get through a fair amount of these HP45 cartridges!
The HP45 is a black ink cartridge with a 42ml capacity. The lifespan on this cartridge will vary greatly according to the printing mode and resolution used on the printer.
This toner will retail at around the £20-£22 mark depending on which supplier you use.
The cartridge comes in a small cardboard package. It is held in place by a cardboard surround that can sometimes be a bit of a battle to remove, depending on which way up you open the packaging!
In Use
To make the cartridge ready for fitting into the printer, you first need to remove a plastic strip from the bottom of the cartridge...

Print server shananagins.
Review of Belkin 802.11g Wireless Print Server by
Jon_Farrimond
Advantages: Simple, Effective, cheap
Disadvantages: None as far as I can see
...I bought one of these a while ago and have been quite impressed overall. I must agree with the lady reviewer that this device is very useful and also quite easy to use.
It does accept two printers via USB and it can connect to your network via either wireless or wired networking. It supports WEP security on your network and seems to have goos signal strength attached to it. As you would expect from Belkin the device is well made and the manual makes a lot of sense.
Be aware however that not all printers are supported by the system, I had some trouble getting firmware updates to allow for my Laser printer to work on it - however Belkin have provided these on their website.
The device asks that you have the printer drivers already installed on your PC when you install the Belkin software, this isn't like normal print server...

They are made by Lexmark and either produced in the UK, Philippines or Assembled in Mexico, which is marked on the box, and is suitable for a large number of printers and all-in-one machines.
The box front is White and Red and shows a picture of the cartridge, underneath the Black and Red Lexmark Trademark. The other side has a list of the printers the cartridge is compatible with these are:-

Want To Protect Your PC? -Finger-Print Protect it.
Review of Siemens ID Mouse with Finger Print Security by
janemenagh
Advantages: Finger Print Protect Your Logon, Documents and Programs.
Disadvantages: Not an Optical Mouse.
...The Siemens ID Mouse is an amazing new product from Siemens offering security for documents and making it easier to log on to Windows, using your finger/thumb print.
I purchased this product about two months ago, the mouse connects to a USB port, the setup process took a while but there were no problems. The ID Mouse software changes your Windows 2000 and Windows XP Logon somewhat, enabling you to discard the use of a username and password and assigning a username and password to a fingerprint. In short, all any computer user has to do to login to their user account is place their pre-recorded finger print onto the fingerprint pad and they will be logged on.
I have added twelve users to the ID Mouse software database so far and I have several logons myself therefore I use different fingers for different logons.
My Family find...

Great for Occasional Printing
Review of HP 28 - print cartridge by
bigmadeejit
Advantages: Good quality low volume printing
Disadvantages: Needs replacing quite often
...28 cartridge maintains a high standard right through until the last few pages. The suitable HP printers for the cartridge have a cleaning function to help sustain this. I have used the cartridge on a range of papers and also OHP film and have found this to be the case throughout. The number 28 cartridge prints good quality photographs, although it is necessary to leave the printed page to dry for a few moments to avoid smudging.
One major drawback with the cartridge is that it only prints approximately 190 pages. One or two heavy printing jobs and you will find that your cartridge needs replacing once again. Although at approximately £12.65 (amazon.co.uk) the cartridge is relatively cheaper compared to others, but in the long run this would not be cost effective.
As HP have given each cartridge a code, i.e. 28, it is much easier...

Valiant Prints of Xerox
Review of Xerox DocuPrint XJ6C by
alflavor
Advantages: Compact, Economical, Simple to set up and use
Disadvantages: Around £30 to replace all the ink.
.... It was around 1.5Mb in size if I remember rightly!
The printer is of a compact design, is the usual PC hardware cream colour, and sits away nicely under a typcial computer desk. It has an on/off button, a button to help install new cartridges and also status indicators for your ink cartridges. More about them later...
After I’d set it up it had trouble printing. This was because as I say it had been rarely used in 2 years. I suspected the cartridges had dried up but a simple “Clean cartridges” option from printer properties helped this situation. Oh, and I aligned the cartridges too, from the same menu.
One of the best things about this printer is that there are 4 separate ink slots inside. These are for black, cyan, magenta and yellow. The printer will use combinations of these as needed to create any colour your printable...

QUALITY PRINTING AT A COST
Review of HP 21 - print cartridge by
JAVER1967
Advantages: Good quality of print
Disadvantages: Expensive
...HP 21 BLACKINKJET PRINT CARTRIDGE
My previous Hewlett Packard printer recently decided to call it a day, and join printer heaven via the local recycling centre.
I ended up buying a Hewlett Packard Printer / Scanner / Copier which takes HP 21 and HP 22 Inkjet Print Cartridges.
HP 21 PACKAGING AND CONTENTS
The packaging itself makes it look as if you are getting a larger cartridge than the one you actually get. For those of you that are into minimal packaging, then I would say that there is too much packaging, in the form of cardboard, and depending on where you buy them from, these are then further packaged into a see through plastic holder. The cartridges that I have bought recently come from various parts of the world, but include Ireland and Malaysia.
The ink cartridge itself is only 5 ml, and will print approximately...
