Shell Fuel Garage - Burton-On-Trent
Review of Shell Fuel Garage Burton on Trent by

Advantages: Friendly Staff, Good Range of Fuels
Disadvantages: Jet Wash Doesn't Work, Isnt Very Good
...Shell Fuel Garage - Burton on Trent
What is Shell…?
They are a large fuel producing company which includes oil, gas, petrol and diesel, this company has many filling stations across the country and also in other countries too. They are well known for producing the 99octane V-Power and also V-Power diesel which is advertised as Ferrari fuel for the roads. This is probably because Shell sponsors Ferrari so they often help give Ferrari advertising.
Shell are one of the leading companies in fuel supplying and I definitely trust them to do provide the best fuels for my cars and also to help improve the environment with improving their fuels to be more environmentally friendly.
Shell also have a really useful website with lots of information about what they provide and other things they are part of including environment...

Shell Optimax unleaded
Review of Shell Optimax Petrol by
Rabid
Advantages: Higher performance, cleans fuel system as you drive
Disadvantages: None if you dont mind paying a little extra
...In the UK we currently already pay extorniate prices for our petrol so why would i recommend paying even more for what some believe to be nothing more than just advertising hype?
Well, i can only speak from my own experiences in regards to Shells Optimax unleaded but for me paying the extra 4p a litre more is a small price for a far superior product.
'What is Shell Optimax?'
Shell Optimax is a higher octane fuel available in both diesel and unleaded, standard unleaded petrol has an octane (RON) rating of 95 whereas Optimax is rated at 98 RON, basically what this translates into for you and me is that Optimax burns alot faster, cleaner and also offers a far superior performance to 'most' cars especially noticable when pulling away from lights or round-abouts whilst also offering a better mid-speed accelaration improvement.
'So...

Review of Shell ATF by

Shell petrol stations
Review of Shell by
premier407
Advantages: Excellent petrol, good range of services like airpumps/vacuums etc at most stations
Disadvantages: Ethics? Good employers? Pluspoints!!!
...and give you a smile as you leave etc. They also have a vacuum, carwash and air pump at the station, handy for when you least expected it.
I rarely bought goods from the shop as i don't live that far away (about 8miles) so can save my money and wait for 20mins to eat something, but they do have a reasonble selection there.
The thing i liked most about shell is the quality of the fuel, i've tried Optimax (more expensive which is why i don't use it everytime) - this is excellent and improves how my car runs almost straight away. Normally however, i just used normal unleaded - since i've used this (and nothing else) in my car, the engine ran quieter and smoother. It started almost everytime, and is much better on longer journeys. I can't say for certain that it was just down to the Shell petrol, but it deffinatly suggested it...

Not the cheapest, but makes sense for sports cars!
Review of Shell Optimax Petrol by
Whinger
Advantages: Invaluable when used with a performance car
Disadvantages: Pricier ... but that's why I use AA petrol watch!
...INTRODUCTION
Well, Perhaps we've seen these kinds of 'performance' fuels before ... haven't we!?!! For those of you who match or exceed my 36 years of age - you'll no doubt remember when Shell in the mid 1980s produced the 'Formula Shell' product which, if my memory serves me right had some kind of a combustion chamber cleaner additive as well as a 'spark aider' that ensured more efficient combustion. It worked for me (I was only 18 years of age in 1986 .... and as a young driver, penalised from an insurance point of view as a young driver - I sought every possible extra BHP from my 1,000CC engine that my then pitifully insipid econo-box possessed) .... but there were those who apparently had problems with it., such as those who maintained that the 'spark aider' apparently caused 'pinking'/pre-ignition problems. The product...

Shell Optimax Petrol
Review of Shell Optimax Petrol by
ilu02192
Advantages: Cleaner full better for car
Disadvantages: costs more
...Shells optimax petrol is better than the cheaper petrol’s that are on offer in a few ways. These ways are as follows;
1) The petrol will make your car more responsive. This is especially good whilst driving in rush hour traffic. Or can be great fun on country roads.
2) The petrol burns cleaner. This is due to the higher Octane levels than cheaper petrol. Octane rating is a measure of a fuel's resistance to knocking. This occurs during combustion when the fuel-air mixture explodes ahead of the flame front rather than burning smoothly, causing a “knocking” noise. As it burns much cleaner the mpg of the car is improved slightly. This is more noticeable on long haul journeys.
3) Because you are putting cleaner petrol in your car your cars engine will be less clogged up. This is due to more refined fuel and less particles in it...

MAX YOUR CAR
Review of Shell Optimax Petrol by
alflavor
Advantages: Gives more power, smoother drive.
Disadvantages: Price premium, availability.
...I think this may be a first for Ciao, but please correct me if I’m wrong! Anyway, I first heard of this product through the member’s club for the car I drive. (MCC Smart) A lot of members were debating the use of Shell Optimax, and by and large the comments were pertaining to the positive end of the scale i.e. use it if you can get it!!
Shell Optimax is a premium unleaded produced exclusively for Shell garages and is currently available at around 60% of their networked garages. (Source www.shell.com).
Now higher octane petrols are available at most petrol stations aren’t they? Often referred to as super or super plus unleaded they simply have a higher octane rating than the 95 figure allocated to your standard green pumped stuff.
Shell Optimax has replaced their own super plus petrol. The blurb in the garage leaflets...

keep going well keep going Shell
Review of Shell 10W/40 by
raregreyastra
Advantages: good performance protectsand maintainsengine lifeand performance
Disadvantages: more expensive than some
...Shell Ultra 10W-40 provides maximum engine cleansing for performance motoring and protecting your car. The product is totally synthetic motor oil that is ideal for modern and sports cars with engines that run faster and hotter in order to achieve maximum power, fuel economy and reduced emissions.
It is formulated with special cleansing agents to clean up and lock away harmful dirt and deposits thus reducing engine wear.
Being a synthetic based lubricant it has excellent long-term oxidation stability which prevents degradation of the product. This in turn enhances engine protection.
Synthetic motor oils in general and this one is no exception have by nature a high shear stability all oils contain complex polymers and it is these that breakdown under use causing deterioration in oil quality and thinning of the oil. The high shear...

Make your car gleam.....
Review of Turtle Wax - Car Wax by
lindsayjayne
Advantages: Makes your car shiny
Disadvantages: Can be hard work, and you need to take your time.
...Seeing as I've been using a lot of this recently - as well as other products, I thought I'd do a review on it.
*History of Tutle Wax*
Turtle Wax is an American Company, and has been producing car care products for about 50 years. The founder of Turtle Wax, Ben Hirsch, worked in the grocery business and invented many products such as chocolate-covered bananas, dessert toppings and a detergent. When Ben met his wife, Marie, they set out to create the first liquid car polish - which later became known as Plastone.
It was on a trip to Wisconsin in the 1950s that Ben discovered Turtle Creek, and made the connection between the tutle's protective shell and his product, Plastone. He renamed Plastone 'Super Hard Shell' and changed the company name to 'Tutle Wax'.
Turtle Wax now have their own car wash centres in the USA, and also...

Fun in a shell
Review of Shell sand and water tray by
tiger645
Advantages: Great fun
Disadvantages: Hard to move when full
...***SHELL SAND AND WATER TRAY***
Before I review this product I would like to tell you the circumstances it was used for. My parents owned a nursery for children from 3 months up to about eight years however older children did come. Unfortunately we had to move house due to work changes and me and my sister moving schools.
During the summer the children loved playing outside and who can blame them with the garden which was half an acre of open land (don't worry it could all be seen so children did not go missing!). Now my father decided to purchase a plastic tub and fill it with sand. He then built a stand for it to be put on which sloped downwards so smaller children could play at one end and taller children at the other without having to bend down or stretch up. We also purchased a large water tub which was about two and half...
