Chessington World of Adventure.
Review of Chessington World Of Adventure Theme Park, Surrey by
mummyno4
Advantages: Fun filled day out for all ages.
Disadvantages: Sometimes the weather can stop the rides due to safety.
..."Chessington World Of Adventures
Not only is this an Amusement Park but it also contains it's own Zoo. I have been visiting here since as long as I can remember, each year there are always improvements. Whether it be new rides, new shops or new animals being introduced to the Zoo.
This is an ideal day out as it takes all day to get round the whole Park, although if you go in the Holidays or on weekends, you may find that the queues are long and this can slow your day down. I would advise getting here when the Park opens to take advantage of the whole day. Try to wear comfortable shoes, and bring a rain Mac (this is not just for the weather but also some of the rides), also if you want to save a bit of money take a pack lunch I would suggest using a carrier bag to put your food in so u can throw your rubbish away (less to carry...

Chessington World Of Adventure
Review of Chessington World Of Adventure Theme Park, Surrey by
Atchoo
Advantages: Lots of fun for children
Disadvantages: Very expensive...No discounts offered when rides are closed
...I have visited Chessington many times and I always seem to have a fun day!
The main rides include
#Runaway Train
#Bubbleworks
#Rameses Revenge
#Vampire
#Dragon Falls
#Dragons Fury
Plus MANY other rides....loads especially designed for children.
Firstly I will get this off of my chest:- Every time I go to Chessington, at least one of the main rides will be closed, whether its the vampire...or most recently the new ride Dragons Fury. Chessington does not offer any discount on ticket prices because of this, which seems unfair...as people travel especially to go on new rides.
Ticket prices are very expensive at £29 for persons over 12 and £19.50 for under 12s...Kids under 1m will go in free, which is always good to know.
You can get discounted prices online, but not by much...The website is currently discounting £2...

Chessington for the under 5s
Review of Chessington World of Adventures by
brownp1
Advantages: Fun day out for all the family
Disadvantages: Can be expensive
...Most of the current ops on Chessington focus on the major rides, but this op is based upon the user - friendliness and suitability of the park to those with young families.
To set my stall out I have 2 boys the eldest is 3½ and the youngest is 1½, and my wife and myself took them to Chessington last week. I will mainly be reviewing how it was for them, since, as anyone with young children knows, if they’re happy and not whingy then the parents can have an enjoyable day too.
Few basics about Chessington 1st –
Location
It’s located in Surrey near Junctions 9 and 10 on the M25, and can also be reached by direct trains from either Clapham or Wimbledon so is convenient for most of the Southeast and possibly even further afield.
Opening Times
The Park is open from the beginning of April to the end of October...

Chessington-tastic!
Review of Chessington World Of Adventure Theme Park, Surrey by
karalouk
Advantages: A good day out for adults and children
Disadvantages: Expensive, que times CAN be long
...I went to Chessington World of Adventures last summer. Here's my review..
We drove to Chessington by car, finding the park wasn't hard and was well signed up. Parking was fine too. We got there at about 11am (park opens at 10am) and we paid £30 each to get in (if you book online it costs £23 each), which is a lot of money but it\'s what you expect these days. What I thought was strange was that we had to pay an extra 50p for a map of the park. I just assumed that we\'d get them free with the tickets..
I would advise getting a map though because the park is pretty huge and you will get lost.
First of all we went to 'transylvaia' and here are my ride reviews..
THE VAMPIRE RIDE
I'd been on this ride a few years previously and it has been upgraded since then. Instead of sitting in bat carts, your legs dangled. This ride was fun...

Chessington World of Broken Rides, more like
Review of Chessington World of Adventures by
belaqua
Advantages: Relatively easy road access, good for families
Disadvantages: Not many big thrills for die-hard theme-parkers
...CWOA is my local theme park as far as these things go, although Thorpe Park comes pretty close, and it's been the scene of my initiation into the world of thrill rides when I was a little'un. I used to have a kind of affection for it, but I have to say that the times are a-changing. It's a member of the huge Tussauds group, in south-east England with good access from the M25.
Chessington was originally developed as a zoo, but after a time the decision to create a USA style theme park was taken.
Firstly I want to include some exclusive insider info...or not, only I visited the place to look at the IT they use and so found out some stuff that explains a lot. Firstly, Chessington and Thorpe Park, once bitter rivals, are now both under the same ownership and actually run as one business, sharing many staff. Also, CWOA have run out...

Chessington World Of Adventures
Review of Chessington World of Adventures by
Overlord_2
Advantages: Something for everyone there.
Disadvantages: Not many rides for young children.
...Chessington World Of Adventures is a fun place to go in the school holidays but it is also a very expensive place to go as it is around £15 to get in. Whenever we go it's for the day. We'll get there early and go on all the most popular rides first as it gets very busy there. There are many cheap places to eat there like KFC or you can bring a picnic to eat in one of the areas without rides but just a childrens play park.
Chessington provides unique rides that appeal to everyone. There are fast active rides like the Vampire ride. There are rides that take you upside down like Rameses Revenge and fast rides that also take you upside down like Samauri- great fun if you've got the guts. There are also rides aimed at little children like Profesor Burps' Bubble Works.
There is also a zoo there, which is also good for little children...

Chessington World of Adventures - is it for you
Review of Chessington World Of Adventure Theme Park, Surrey by
dragonsurge
Advantages: small queues, lots of things to do for younger children
Disadvantages: very few rides for older children, in need of refurbishment in parts
...Visited Chessington World of Adventures in August 2007 with my 5 year old, this park is better suited for younger children due to the lack of bigger rides although the 2 or 3 rides for older children/adults are quite exhilirating. There are loads of places to eat including a kfc & pizza hut with prices not too bad and there is enough to do to enjoy the day such as the zoo, animal shows, rides etc. there is als a place in the western style part of the park where you and your family can have a photograph taken in the style of the old west with a saloon or parlour backdrop, an opportunity to dress up as cowboys or wenches and get a momento of the experience all good fun & the kids as well as the grown ups enjoy it, as many people in the photograph for £20 which is quite reasonable for an 10x8" photograph. I would say quite a bit of the park...

Holiday Inn Chessington - Teething Troubles
Review of Holiday Inn London Chessington by
dragonsurge
Advantages: larger than average rooms with good facilities, comfortable beds
Disadvantages: Poor food, Poor Service, Can be expensive
...I stayed in this hotel in August 07, it had only been open for about 6 weeks so everything new, chose this hotel as it was advertised as being next dor to Chessington world of Adventures (where we were spending the day) plus it had a swimming pool, offered playstations in the rooms (we didn't have one, hotel said there was a problem with network!) plus with it being rated 4* I expected the food to be very good as experienced in other hotels of this type abroad. I have stayed in many of of this type of hotel both in the UK & abroad & I have to say there is room for improvement. The room cost £100 per night (they do have some good rates at the moment from £50pn Nov 07) so a little more expensive than others in the near vicinity but I opted for this one as it had a swimming pool (thought it would entertain my 5 year old in the evening if he...

Chessington World Of Adventures
Review of Chessington World of Adventures by
csc2000
Advantages: Great Fun
Disadvantages: Not many
...This is the second year my dad and I have applied for a season ticket for Chessington World of Adventures and similar theme parks. We first decided to apply for a season ticket when we discovered that for the number of times we went a year, we only would have to go a few times for the ticket to be worth it.
Chessington is easy to gain access to and when you arrive, parking is spacious and easy and safe to use.
The que time is always fairly short, 15 minutes at the most at peak times.
When you are in the park, there is something for everyone. The park is split into kind of zones, there is also a complimentary park map which shows you in a simple layout, how to find your way around and gives you a"thrillometer" for the rides.
As I said before, there is something for everyone so all ages will love it...

My trip to Chessington World of Adventures.
Review of Chessington World of Adventures by
melaniepither
Advantages: Lots of different rides aimed at under eights, eights to elevens, teenagers and adults. Good disabled facilities.
Disadvantages: The entrance prices are quite high.
...In June of this year my husband and I took our two children aged five and eight to Chessington for a half-term treat.
By visiting the website a few days earlier we managed to obtain some vouchers for free child tickets which meant only paying for ourselves, something very useful as childrens tickets cost around £17.50 each.
I was a little apprehensive about taking our daughter as she has special needs and is not very good at waiting or queuing. I was pleasantly suprised, therefore, to discover that I could get a special pass from the entrance booth which could be shown to the operator of the rides to ensure we could get straight on - something which I only used on one ride where the queue was very long.
Both children had a fantastic time and having my husband there meant we could split up where the children wanted to go on different...
