Reviews of chocolate bars
Silk or cotton it's still just a bar of chocolate
Review of Galaxy Chocolate Bar by
jammy_banana
Advantages: creamy, smooth, nothing too fancy
Disadvantages: expensive
...There was a time when my sister would always have a big bar of Galaxy chocolate in the house. You see she was always more of a fan of it than I was. I would eat the occasional 3 to 6 squares (unlike some people who could easily put away half the bar at a time). However a couple of weeks ago I got a strange urge to have some Galaxy chocolate. As it happens we still had a bar in the house. Alas the bar was so old it still had the old wrapper on it and was supposed to have been eaten about twelve months earlier. It went in the bin and I went out to buy myself some more.
Seeing as how I only wanted to remind myself of the taste of the chocolate I bought one of the small standard-sized bars that are available in newsagents and near the checkouts in supermarkets. Galaxy chocolate also comes in larger bars, if I remember correctly...

Smartilicious Chocolate Bars are the answer
Review of Smarties Chocolate Bar by
MARKH455
Advantages: Mmmmmmmmm
Disadvantages: E E E E E
...I felt the need for chocolate last night - big time - (as one does), so I went to the local newsagents and looked at the abundance of coloured wrappers in front of my eyes, and came across 2 distinctive from the rest - which caught my eyes.
A blue wrapper and a white wrapper. On closer examination, it was evident that these were chocolate bars with SMARTIES in them! (Now, I ‘have’ had a bad experience with Smarties - see other op on Smarties), but I really love chocolate, and I really love Smarties so I thought I'd give it a go.
Now was the big decision of the visit to the newsagents - to purchase the MILK chocolate bar (blue wrapper) or the WHITE chocolate bar (white wrapper). I pondered for a few seconds and decided that as I was on a diet, and chocolate wasn't exactly the healthiest of foods...that I would buy...

Deceiving bars of Chocolate & Nut
Review of Mars Tracker Bars, Chocolate Chip by
innercircle
Advantages: Nice & Tasty, Compact for Lunch Box
Disadvantages: Too Small, Packaging a waste
... TRACKER CHOCOLATE CHIP
I love chocolate chip tracker bars I have at least one every day or two so I thought I would share my thoughts with you. Full of chocolate chips and oatey goodness and each mouth full is not enough.
SIZE, TASTE & SMELL
The size is quite deceiving, they are smaller then they look in the packaging at only approx 3 inches long by just an inch wide. Each bar is 26 grams in weight.
They are very crunchy and very tasty, once you bite into one you get a right mouth full of chocolate chips and chewy goodness of cornflakes, nuts and oats, they can be a little sticky and may be sickly to someone who’s not keen on nuts and chocolate together.
The smell is divine and you want more (well I do anyway), the smell is very sweet and chocolaty, there’s also a strong smell...

The time travelling chocolate bars
Review of Fry's Chocolate Cream by
jammy_banana
Advantages: delcious and unusual tastes
Disadvantages: not divided into segments, expensive
...Every so often the powers that be try to make learning fun. History in particular can be seen as a little dull, being as it is a series of dates and facts and so on. In order to make history more fun there seems to be something of a trend for "living history". Basically this involves living for a short period of time as if it were a certain period in history. When I was at Primary School we had a Victorian day. Alas I doubt its authenticity because no-one got consumption and died, no-one wound up in the workhouse and absolutely no-one got horse-whipped and sent to Australia.
We didn't even have any authentic Victorian food. Which is a shame because you can still get authentic Victorian food if you know where to look. Take a gander at the confectionery aisle and there you will see a chocolate bar that has been around since 1866...

Fair-ly nice Orange Chocolate
Review of Co-op Fair Trade Chocolate Orange Bar by
mental_infestation
Advantages: It's fair trade, so it's friendly towards farmers, it's not too expensive
Disadvantages: Sickly
...Co-op Fair Trade Chocolate Orange Bar (part of the Co-op Fairtrade Chocolate Range)
**********
This is my first food review so please bear with me! This could get a bit messy and… sticky…
**********
I have tried a few different kinds of Fair Trade chocolate (being a bit of a chocoholic), and loved them all(!), so when I saw a Chocolate Orange Bar in Co-op, I thought I'd give it a try. I like trying all kinds of new chocolate just to make sure I'm not missing out on something!
**********
"Since 2002 the Co-op has put only Fairtrade cocoa into it's block chocolate bars The Co-op's cocoa supplier is Kuapa Kokoo in Ghana, Africa." - www.co-opfairtrade.co.uk
**********
What is Fair Trade?
"Guarantees a better deal for Third World Producers" it says on the packaging for this bar of chocolate. But what is Fair...

Green and Blacks Caramel Chocolate Bar
Review of Green and Blacks Chocolate by
cuddlybunny
Advantages: no guilt on the ethcial front, tastes divine
Disadvantages: still fattening, more expensive than many brands
...Like most people, I do like a bit of chocolate (or, sometimes, a lot). A few years a go I would have bought and eaten just about any chocolate bar on the market so long as it didn’t contain peanuts. But, of recent years, I have become a little fussier about what I will eat and I have become more conscious of trying to buy more ‘ethical’ products. Unfortunately, many of the well-known companies belong to parent companies who test on animals. As a vegetarian and general animal-lover I think this is wrong and have made the conscious choice to stop buying any products made by companies who indulge in this practice. Unfortunately, one way or another, this includes a number of chocolate brands. So, the search was on find a great-tasting chocolate bar where the only guilt would come from the calories consumed.
After...

Heaven in the form of a chocolate bar!
Review of Ainsley Harriott Choc Bars Heaven by
kingfisher111
Advantages: tasty snack
Disadvantages: none
...A lot of people will know of Ainsley Harriott as the chirpy and rather loud TV chef, probably best known for hosting 'Ready, Steady, Cook!' Well, I was also very pleased to discover that he has his own food range which you can pick up in most supermarkets and even more delighted to discover his Chocolate Heaven bars!
You can buy these delicious bars in multi-packs usually containing nine bars but there is a special offer at the moment where you can get eleven bars for only 99 pence. (The usual price is £1.69 which I do think is a bit steep - however if you can find these bars on offer then they are well worth investigating!)
The multipack is a rich chocolate colour which is very tempting before you even open them up. Each bar is also individually wrapped with the same chocolate colour wrapping. On the main pack's wrapping you get...

Chocolate or Sex? Why Choose?
Review of Galaxy Chocolate Bar by
kamallan
Advantages: Creamy enjoyable
Disadvantages: not enough in a small bar
...to open the wrapper properly, that's ok. I can just manage and at least there isn't too much waste packaging. I haven't won, but never mind, there is chocolate to make up for that!
The taste
Heaven. It really is. Now I often eat chocolate on its own, or break it into small pieces and mix it into hot chocolate with marsh mallows, although I must admit, most chocolate is better with a drink. Most chocolate makes your tongue stick to your mouth and you need milk or a nice frothy coffee. Not Galaxy. Now I have a 46.8g bar here. I would much prefer a super size bar but this is what my boyfriend picked up at the shop when I asked for chocolate. Guess who is sulking after been told he was being stupid for fetching home such a pathetic chocolate bar? Yes, my boyfriend lol. But back to the taste.
The chocolate bar has been in the fridge...
