Mt citroen Xsara Picasso
Review of Citroen Xsara Picasso by
chezzal1
Advantages: Raise the drivers seat up, lots of storage space
Disadvantages: have problems cleaning the roof, or scraping the windscreen if you are short
...I use to own a citroen saxo, and was never going to have a big car, I thrn had a child and my decsion was changed for me, I needed the extra space that the xsara picasso offered.
You have the four door bins and a suitable size glove box, as well as the boot space, as do most cars, but when you look in the boot, on the passenger side you will find extra storage hidden, in which I can hide my St john ambulace bomber jacket, and because the boot has no lip, I don't have to lift my childs buggy over, I can slide it in level with my hips.
Then in the back on the floor behind both the drivers and passengers seat are another two storage compartments, in which I can keep my car emergencey kit, plus the three seats in the back are all spilt and individual, with their own over the shoulder seat belts, (no lap belts hooray!!) the middle...

Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDI SX (2001)
Review of Citroen Xsara Picasso by
tinas230
Advantages: Seat flexibility & movement, nice high driving position, cheap tax
Disadvantages: Side visibility, driving in windy conditions, back seatbelts
...breaking (a very small component with a big price of £475) and this can only be fixed by a Citroen dealer.
Would I recommend a Picasso? Yes, I would. We have now bought a Mercedes M Class with 7 seats but it is no where near as luxurious and practical as the Picasso and I really miss being able to turn up my volume on the steering wheel when the kids start playing up!...

Avoid Tax - buy a Picasso
Review of Citroen Xsara Picasso VTX 1.6 110bhp by
trevorbrock
Advantages: Low tax rating with good specs
Disadvantages: Some think Picassos need a makeover now
...is virtually flat right through.
There are several different storage places inside, the neatest being two large boxes under the rear passengers feet.! There is quite a good slide out box under the driver's seat. The battery sits under the front passenger seat, so there's not much room there.
For comfort there is air-con, heated, electric mirrors, CD player, leather steering wheel and folding armrests up front.
For safety, there is ABS plus fog lights, and plenty of air-bags.
4 Want A VTX ?
There are those who think the Xsara Picasso range is a bit long in the tooth. Even Citroen themselves have been thinking that way, and are well on the way to producing a completely new range sometime later this year. However, I like the fact that this range is well tried and tested. The buyer benefits from the long run that the Picasso has enjoyed...

A true MPV - Picasso Diesel
Review of Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDi LX by
leo85
Advantages: Practicality, Diesel engine, Huge boot, Driving position
Disadvantages: Plasticy interior trim, Wind Noise, Far too easy to speed!!
...Have just replaced my Volvo so time for my second review - I have just bought an X-reg year 2000 2.0 HDi Citroen Xsara Picasso, and I love it, so here goes!
In early 2000 Citroen launched its first mini MPV to rival the popular Renault Scenic and Vauxhall Zafira. At launch it was available with a 1.6 8v or 1.8 petrol engine, or Citroen's 2.0 HDi diesel engine. It rapidly rose through the sales chart to become the highest selling mini MPV in the UK, a position it has remained despite new contenders, ever since. In its five years since launch it has become Citroens biggest selling model in the firm's history. In 2003 the model underwent a minor mid-life facelift to incorporate body-coloured door handles and side strips new wheel trims, and equipment upgrades.
All Picassos come with five individual seats, with the rear three being...

Citroen Xsara Picasso
Review of Citroen Xsara Picasso by
james564
Advantages: Spacious, big boot, storage space, has its own shopping trolley
Disadvantages: Reflection from angle of windscreen, digital dashboard.
.....: Driving The Picasso :..
The driving position is good, the clutch is not too heavy, and the steering wheel height is adjustable, the gearstick is mounted on the dashboard so its higher than normal cars, it will take a bit of getting used to but it's alright once your are used to it.
..: Engine :..
My model is an SX so it has fog lamps, CD player and Air Conditioning as standard. The engine is a 1.8l, its top speed is 105mph and it can make 118bhp. The brakes are good as well. The car has power assissted brakes and power steering. It also has an average MPG of 35mpg
..: Storage Space :..
The boot is rather big and strapped to the side of it is a little fold away trolley! There is a pull out tray kind of thing under the drivers seat containing the car's hand book. In the rear of the car, on the floor is two little compartments...

Citreon Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDI SX
Review of Citroen Xsara Picasso by
willsby
Advantages: Excellent family car, practical.
Disadvantages: Not very interesting drive
...I originally brought this car for myself after chanig my Audi A4..... what a mistake.....( bare with me i'm not really slagging the car off).. after finding out my wife was pregnant with our daughter i looked at something on the practical side, i didn't want an MPV as i think there a waste of time(yes you have seven seats but no boot space, takes the back seats out and your left with an oversized estate with two two seats stuck in your dining room!!!) any way i decided to take a look at the Picasso it was quite a decent looking car big enough for the kids nice high driving position plenty of room.
So i went to my local Citreon dealer and saw the one i ended up buying. It was there forecourt for £5500 its an X reg 2000 model, which i thought from a dealer was a good price it has full service and the rest , so i took it for drive...

Citroen Xsara 1.4, 8v 5dr hatch. Tempting??
Review of Citroen Xsara 1.4 by
SamJEmm
Advantages: New Shape, nice funky design, handy gadgets, nice sized boot.
Disadvantages: French Design, expensive parts and servicing costs
...I have owned two Xsara's, both excellent for my everyday needs.
My first Xsara was a Y reg in Wicked red metallic, came with electric windows, one electric mirror, air con, 4 airbags, rear headrests and the list continues....
As usual a diverted drive around a industrial estate ended up with me falling in love with the Xsara, its sleek cute design caught my eye,
A few days later i visited the Citroen garage, found out some more information on the Xsara, seemed a cracking car, i dont want to moan and groan but when things never seem to go right you have to let others know, thinking your doing the right move passing on bad comments.
As for my local Citroen dealer..... for those who have experienced it ill say no more.
The first Xsara drove fine for the first few weeks and suddenly seemed to develop a fault, it was loosing...

I'm sticking with my Picasso!
Review of Citroen Xsara Picasso by
joooles
Advantages: Spacious, comfortable, nice drive
Disadvantages: None so far
...Now, my review doesn't go into the technical details coz I haven't got a clue! But this is the Citroen Picasso as I see and experience it...
We have had our 53 plate Citroen Picasso 1.6 for a year now, and I love it!! The first thing that stands out in my eyes is the cool streamline shape. It's different to anything currently on the market, without looking silly.
Before the Picasso I had a Ford KA...so I couldn't have gone from much smaller to much bigger! I was a little worried, coz the front and back seem really long, and I was worried about scraping other cars, walls, etc. But honestly, it's alot easier to judge parking than you think. Like with all cars, you park, then get out and see how much further you could've gone...after a few months of doing this, I can judge the downwards sloping bonnet and boot very well...

Citreon Picasso HDI
Review of Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDi LX by
kinbuck1
Advantages: Spacious, very comfortable, economical
Disadvantages: a bit underpowered
...I had a white 2.0HDI turbo diesel Picasso for 15 months back in 2001 and was really impressed with it.
The Picasso is a slightly oddly styled compact MPV based on the Xsara hatchback. Its quite unique in shape and most drivers find that they either love or hate it.
The Picasso seats 5 adults comfortably which is not quite as good as many of its competitors that can seat 7.
The interior of the car is large and extremely roomy. There are loads of cuby holes stashed all over the cabin and throughout the vehicle making it ideal if you are using this as a family car. There are large cuby holes located under the rear passangers feet which is a unique and very clever idea. The back of the front seats have fold down tables attached which makes most rear passangers crack jokes that they feel like they are in an aeroplane!
The boot...

Citroen Picasso 1.6i Excellence Petrol
Review of Citroen Xsara Picasso by
james3178
Advantages: A spacious comfortable very well equiped MPV
Disadvantages: A soft ride and seats not the best in the world
...This is the second Picasso I have had, so I must be keen on them! My first was a second hand (15 months old) 1.8 SX but this one is new and is the 1.6i Excellence model. Both models being petrol driven. I find the 1.6i feels smaller , nippier and seems to have more precise steering than the 1.8SX. There have been many reviews detailing the various great features of the Picasso so I will restrict my comments to the "toys" that the Excellence version has.
Possibly the most useful thing is the climate control air conditioning. This enables you to select the internal temperature to within 0.5 of a degree. The fan has many progressive settings from gentle waft to cyclonic gale! Next toy is the cruise control. From the steering control one can select a given speed (in 4th and 5th gear). Once selected the car will carry on at this speed...
