...Neon Ballroom is Silverchair third album and definitely their best so far. They made their first at the age of 15 and things have just got better for Danial Johns and co. The album is an amazing mix of musical styles, from the very heavy Spawn again to the beautifully weepy miss you love Neon ballroom is a roller coaster of emotions with tale of lost love and self abuse cocaine addicts and god knows what else. Advantages: the architectual aspect is amazing

...The tower ballroom is absolutely amazing to see. The whole of blackpool tower is another experience it is just really fantastic. Its for all ages young and old. I think that the great thing about this is that if there is some really profesional ballroom dancers in then the whole place just comes alive. I think this a really amazing experience and the architectual aspect of the building is a must see. If i can remeber rightyl i think it also has a refreshments bar or one not so far away. I think it also has live music from an organ piano and also has seating spread around the dancefloor the the ballroom dancers can be admired. I think the tower is very good value for money and if you are thinking for going to blackpool do not pass up the chance to go the tower. If you do go to the tower please do not miss this exirence the dancers... Read review

...I was glued to my TV set when the Jubilee Celebrations began in Great Britain a few Months ago. The Concert was wonderful and so was the fireworks display. I was very excited when I learn that Queen Elizabeth II was coming to Canada to let us celebrate with her. ~. THE QUEEN COMES TO VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA .~ As part of the Jubilee Celebrations our Queen is visiting Canada. This will be her 7th visit here. On Friday October the 4th she will arrive in Canada and later today we will be welcoming her in Victoria, British Columbia. For a Month traffic has been stopped while the RCMP, CSIS and our local Police have been practicing on the Streets that she will be traveling. ...Frogstomp is absolutely amazing when you consider the ages of the band members at the time when this was recorded. It is an excellent album. All of the songs are good and the vocal performance is brilliant. The overall best song is probably “Tomorrow” and the lyrics are good, especially to that song. This is Silverchair’s debut album. I don’t think it is quite as good as Neon Ballroom but that is just my taste in music. If you prefer a more raw type of rock this is for you, otherwise if you are a new Silverchair listener I would buy Neon Ballroom first, then buy this if you like that. This album sounds more like Freak Show than Neon Ballroom, but if you liked either of those then this one is definitely worth a listen.... Read review

...People immediately think the worst of Columbia and I guess a for good reason. Mu mum went grey whilst I was awayjust from worry but I was absolutely fine. I did the typical uni thing and went travelling with my then boyfriend to meet up with his sister who was travelling all of South America and Columbia and Venezuela were the last two. We first travelled to Venezuela and then made our way over to Columbia, my first impression was it is so cold. Bogata is on a mountain, needless to say we were all sun people and moved on up the country. The aim was a national park near Cartegena, Cartagena is lovely. A old town and new combined, a mix of tourism and locals - but it works well. Travellers are well looked after, with the hostels and little cheap hotels. The national park was beautiful, sandy beaches, people sleeping in hammocks... Read review

...Having spent a year on exchange at the University of Missouri in Columbia I got to know the town pretty well. Being pretty much at the centre of the country it was great to visit both the East and West Coast from St Louis. As the first place I ever went to in the States, Columbia provided a big culture shock in comparison to Manchester, England. It is very much a college town and a great deal quieter during spring break and thanksgiving week when there are less students around. Despite being a reasonably small town there were many bars and restaurants for us English students to frequent most noticeably being the Heidelberg, Willies and Friday night at the Fieldhouse. Just outside town on the banks of the MIssouri is what was known as the winery where you can spend the afternoon drinking great wine, looking out over the river... Read review

...Having risen to the heady heights of fame at the tender age of 15, one might expect Silverchair to have burnt out and paled into history like so many others before them. Well... it hasn't been an easy ride, but the've come through. Each track on 'Neon Ballroom', their third and most accomplished albumn to date, deals with the many problems and emotions that have been thrown at front man Daniel Johns over the bands meteoric rise to the top. Johns solid, directed, guitar work combines with an orchestra of strings and some moving piano performances from fellow aussie David helfgot, to produce a very involving sound quite unlike anything your likely to have heard before. Drawing emotions out of you left, right and center, then slaming you down before repeating the process, this album could quite possibly be the soundtrack of a generation... Read review

...The Tower Ballroom is situated in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham. The Saturday night entertainment consists of a disco and a group who play alternate slots of about an hour each. The group are excellent and can perform any type of music very well. The room is large with a decent sized dance floor so it doesn't feel too claustrophobic even when the place is full, which it invariably is on a Saturday night! There are a number of bars around the perimeter of the room making getting a drink easier than in a lot of clubs, althought it does get every busy at times. There is a small snack bar although I haven't actually tried this. There is plenty of seating both at tables and on sofas around the place.... Read review

...Neon Ballroom is Silverchairs best album. A heady mixture of lilting melodys, crunchy guitars and amazing vocals it really kicks their other, somewhat dull, albums into touch. Opening with the six minutes of sheer brilliance that is Emotion Sickness the album can hardly go wrong from that point on. If I had to list standout tracks on this album, I would have to list ten songs but that would take ages, so I won’t bother. But along with Emotion Sickness, the other honourable mention goes to Dearest Helpless – a stomping clash between guitars and drums and not the sort of song you could fall asleep to! I love this album, and anyone who likes not entirely straightforward rock music will as well.... Read review

...Sunday morning - nothing to do ? Try Columbia Road mareket at Bethanl Green. It's a small road full of stll holders selling plants and flowers at incredibly cheap prices. There are also some handicraft/art type shops where you can pick some unusual items. It closes about 2.00 p.m and I would suggest getting there at the latest by nmidday as prices do start to fall dramatically at the end iof the trading day. You can also get non-floral products e.g. bread, handmade soaps etc. Top place where you can chill... Read review
