...Conflict Desert Storm, as the title suggests this game is set during operation Desert Storm in the gulf war. This game has taken a completely unoriginal war theme and turned it into something special. Conflict Desert Storm mixes fun and realism which is a refreshing change from other ‘serious’ tactical shooters. The game is very simple, but don’t get me wrong this is by no means a bad thing, you play a special forces squad leader called Sgt. Bradley. You lead you’re squad consisting of a sniper (Foley), an infiltration expert (Jones) and the heavy weapons expert (Connors) on many dangerous missions (fifteen to be exact). Advantages: Very atmospheric, intuitive missions and surprisingly addictive

Advantages: Nice realism...
Disadvantages: A few annoying glitches...

...I am playing this game with my brother at the moment, and it really is a good game. We've been playing it solid on multiplayer for about 4 days now and its true that it is very addictive! The realism to this game is great, it tracks the iraqi invasion of kuwait well and all of the missions are detailed and similar to actual events of the first iraqi war. Between missions there are even brief paragraphs outlining your position in the conflict. A nice touch to this game is the ability to play as either the Delta force ( US special forces), or the obviously better SAS! I have always chosen the SAS mainly through pride. Whats good about this game is that the realism gives you a sense of patriotism about the whole mission, and together with the fact that orders given by your team are accompianied with the correct hand signals... ...I'd forgotten how fun Conflict Desert Storm really was, looking for a decent slice of action I picked the sequel. You can play as 2 sides now the British SAS or US Delta Force both still follow the same mission patterens which was a slight setback because at first I thought I had two games ! The game is more of last time still being a 3rd person squad based shooter with tactics and strategy also playing a vital part. Back in Iraqi desert you control a squad of four team-mates . Each of your team mates has a various skill. Your men are Bradley the all rounder good with all guns, Conners is in control of the heavy weaponary, Foley is skilled with the sniper rifle and Jones is skilled at close quarters and dead handy with the knife. Advantages: Great 2 player mode
Disadvantages: Enemys vocab leaves alot to be desired...

...frustrating at first but does give great rewards when you are picking off soldiers long range when your a skilled marksman! The gadgets are pretty standard and include anti tank missiles, mines and grenades along side your standard primary weapon and side arm. You can also collect weapons in the field so if you become to trigger happy you dont have to worry about becoming a lamb to the slaughter. The graphics are not fantastic however these have been greatly improved in the sequal desert storm 2. If there was anything I could improve in this game it would be the enemys vocab as after a while you want to shoot them just to shut them up. Anyway, I have rambled on enough. Advantages: Plenty of good missions. Pretty realistic. Graphically sound. No bugs
Disadvantages: Enemy AI can be dodgy at times. In-game music is crap!

...The Iraqi forces invaded Kuwait on 2nd August 1990 to appease their megalomaniac leader’s thirst for power and land. The UN Security Council passed resolutions ruling that the invading forces must withdraw immediately to their own territory or face military action. Time being of the essence, - as it would take time for the coalition to amass, equip and mobilise enough forces to evict the Iraqis, the special forces units of the British (SAS) and American (Delta Force) are quickly sent into Kuwait. Their job is to harass the Iraqis and prepare the way for the land forces. In other words, they were sent in to do what they do best! And so the fun begins... ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Conflict Desert Storm is based upon the Gulf War conflict, but more specifically so about the types of missions that spec ops teams would have performed... Advantages: It's brill, and you'll know the format/controls from the first one.
Disadvantages: No bonuses, no endgame sequence to speak of, too long to wait until the next one.
