Cow and gate baby milk review
Review of Cow & Gate Baby Milk by  mapesy

Advantages: Great range
Disadvantages: Should make bigger tubs

...never turned a bottle down lol. It seemed to satisfy her needs and she's very healthy. She's put on lots of weight and is on the average line for her age. Cow and gate plus 2- After 6 wks I found that she was still quite hungry and was drinking a lot. So I bought her the number 2 milk which you can still use from birth and is said to be for hungrier babies. I found this one to be great also. She's still very healthy and happy. She drinks it all happily and seems satisfied at the end of her feed again now. The look The cow and gate tubs are plastic and are rectangular shape and come in different colours so that you don't mix up what you buy. They have red lids and on the inside of the lid at the top you have a holder to but your scooper in. They have all the info you need displayed like ingredients and vitamins. How to make the feeds... Cow'n'Gate Premium milk
Review of Cow & Gate Baby Milk by  Morgan0403

Advantages: Baby loves it!
Disadvantages: None

...I decided as soon that I was pregnant that I did not want to breastfeed so I spent nine months trying to decided which milk I was going to feed to my newborn. After reading the labels and comparing prices etc I chose Cow & Gate premium as I thought it was the best value for money and it states on the box that is close to breastmilk. I have not looked back since as my daughter loves it and has never had any problems drinking it. The premium milk is the first stage in the Cow & Gate milk series and comes in a light green packaging. The series is made up of 4 types of milk - Stage 1 - premium milk - newborn babies Stage 2 - hungry baby milk - for those little ones who cannot be satisfied by the premium milk Stage 3 - 6months plus Stage 4 - 9 months plus follow on milk The premium milk is supposed to be closer to breastmilk... Cow and Gate Breakfast Packets
Review of Cow & Gate Baby Food by  MissFluffy

Advantages: ease of use , tasty
Disadvantages: none

...I have a newbie at the eating lark. My four month old is a picky one but with Cow & Gate Creamed Porridge and the other breakfast cereals we are on a winner all the way! The main bonus in this breakfasts range is the flavour. I have tried various 4 months foodstuffs and some of the flavours are at best shockable. And by this i mean that intensly shocked " what have u put in my mouth mummy!" expression that generally precedes a healthy gag reflex and a spontanious screech. But the mildness and gentle sweetness of the breakfast range is always accepted with an open mouth and smiling eyes. My baby's favorite is Creamed Porridge. It is a lovely vitamin enriched first food with a mild cinamon taste. I always try my baby's food myself (mostly when im testing the temperature) and i personally find it very nice! Its easy to make up, and easy... Read review

Cow and Gate Premium First Milk
Review of Cow & Gate Baby Milk by  lebel

Advantages: Easy to use, quality brand
Disadvantages: not breastfeeding, is it?

...I bought Cow and Gate Baby Milk before I had my daughter as although I wanted to breast feed, I was also aware that I needed a back up - just in case. I picked it out as it is a brand that I recognised, I thought that all baby milks were much of a muchness and Cow and Gate is averagely priced. When I had Lily in March, I had to have an emergency caesarean, so we stayed in hospital for 5 days. For that time I breastfed her and was the only person on the ward of four doing so! I really enjoyed being close to her and was pleased that I was able to do it. However once we got home, things changed. Lily wanted to be on the breast for hours at a time and I - and more poor nipples - couldn't cope. After 2 weeks of exclusively breastfeeding, I was in so much pain, my husband called the hospital for advice. They weren't much help and told... Read review

Cow and Gate Premium
Review of Cow & Gate Baby Milk by  Spanner82

Advantages: Easy for baby to digest, great easy to use packaging
Disadvantages: None that I can think of yet!

...I began by breatsfeeding my son for the first six weeks, we then switched him onto formula (not Cow and Gate). He instantly became constipated and unsettled. Someone recommended the Cow and gate milk as it contains prebiotics - to help aid digestion. Basically what they do for my baby is they give his poop a consistancy similar to breastmilk poop which is softer and easier to pass - a big bonus for a baby who feels much more comfortable. The packaging is well designed and I would never go back to usual the old style of packaging. You can make up a feed using only one hand - the excess powder is scooped away by a piece of plastic just inside the lid and the powder scoop is kept underneath the lid - no more rooting for lost scoops and getting powder dirty! The powder mixes well in cold or hot water - we like to mix feeds up... Read review

Premium, plus, step up, next steps
Review of Cow & Gate Baby Milk by  oreilly2

Advantages: readily available, easy to use, baby likes it
Disadvantages: smells yukky!

..., as they are lactose based. Using the cow and gate milks: I started with the premium, a from birth milk (green pack). At around 12 weeks, I switched to the plus, which is suitable for hungrier babies but can be used from birth (blue pack). I switched because she was showing signs of being hungry all the time, similar to weaning signs, but was obviously too young to be weaned. The transition was easy, and she was satisfied by this milk for some time. The only downside of the plus is that it smells quite unpleasant, worse than all the other formulas! At 6 months we switched to the purple step up, this is a follow on milk from 6 months, which is designed to meet a babies increased need for iron at this age. Unlike first milks, follow on milks can be discounted so are that bit cheaper. At 9 months I changed again to the yellow next steps, which is designed... Read review

Cow & Gate Wholemeal Savoury Fingers
Review of Cow & Gate Baby Food by  inycon2

Advantages: Easy to hold, vitamins, no sugar,
Disadvantages: Watch out for choking

...Why these reviews keep disappearing is a complete mystery to me. Well here it goes again. I have I'm afraid to say become rather addicted to these savoury fingers. Its the first time I've ever become addicted to something thats actually good for me! I came across them when searching for some ready made finger food for my eight month old daughter. I wanted something healthy, without sugar and Cow and Gate Wholemeal Savoury Fingers seemed to fit the bill. I often find that my daughters naggy time is around six o clock just as we're sittng down to dinner. A couple of savoury fingers seems to keep her occupied long enough for meals to now become an enjoyable social occasion. She chomps away on them, waves them about in the air or bangs on her tray until they break. A bit messy perhaps but worth the clearing up time for a bit... Read review

Cow & Gate's new munch bars..
Review of Cow & Gate Baby Food by  The-ex-Raven

Advantages: good quick snack, ideal for when ' out and about'
Disadvantages: a bit pricey

...I got a couple of the new Cow & Gate 'snack bars' as a free sample in a Bounty pack, and they're part of the Cow & Gate finger foods range. They come in 3 different flavours; Apple, Plum and the Multi-cereal and Milk bar. The samples I got were of the 'milk' bar and the plum one. so how good are they? All of the bars are made up of 4 equal size break-off type 'portions' and are very easy for little hands to hold and munch on..or squish it into the carpet..or feed it to the dog..or hide under the sofa for later..ha ha! The packaging states "For toddlers from 12 months old.." "Multi-Cereal & Milk Bars are ideal for babies learning to hold and eat finger foods, which is an essential part of the developmental process of weaning" My little boy isn't quite 1 yet but is good at eating things..he got lots of teeth. But I... Read review

Cow & Gate Soy Formula Milk
Review of Cow & Gate Baby Milk by  JennieTanner

Advantages: It has vastly improved my son's health
Disadvantages: More expensive than normal brands and lack of competition

...COW & GATE SOY FORMULA MILK About 2 months ago, after several months of wheezing and coughing and an overnight stay in hospital, the consultant decided that maybe my 7 1/2 month boy was dairy intolerant - dairy products can cause excess mucus which is very difficult for babies to shift. So i went out to buy some soy formula milk, and i surprisingly could only find one brand - Cow & Gate. LOOKS ----- The tins come in one size only - 900g and not the handy 450g foil packs that the other C&G formula milk comes in. They have a pale orangey-yellow label and are similar in colour to Cow & Gate's Stage 4 dairy formula milk - which can be quite confusing if you are trying to do a quick shop with a baby loudly voicing his opinion on where he would rather be! COST & AVAILABILITY... Read review

Cow and Gates Baby and Toddler Biscuits
Review of Cow & Gate Baby Food by  Honey_Bee

Advantages: Not many (see op)
Disadvantages: see op

...My baby niece is now seven months old. The time has gone so quick it doesn’t seem five minutes ago she was a tiny baby. Being a sensible young babe she has started to eat “solids”. When I say solids I mean mashed up vegetables, fruit or baby tins! My sister has gone back to work so mum looks after Madeleine while her mummy is away. I am often at home also as I have quite a few convenient free periods from college. I adore being an Auntie and often feed, clothe and change Madeleine’s nappy, so I thought Id inform you all about Cow and Gate baby and toddler biscuits. The health visitor suggested trying Cow and Gate biscuits instead of Farley’s Rusks as they contain less sugar. Now whether that is true or not I don’t know, but my sister got herself a box of the biscuits as the health visitor... Read review
