Mad about Moo.
Review of Hotel Leoneck, Zurich by  post-it-note

Advantages: Nice location/decent price
Disadvantages: You could go cow mad

...they call a "business corner" which means there is a PC and a printer you can hire. Reception is open 24/7. . You can book online (which is what we did) or via phone - its also listed on a few hotel booking sites too. If you are calling from in Switzerland there is a free phone number for reservations. I read a review of this hotel on a different site (gasp, im so disloyal to Ciao) which suggested rude staff and a noisy location. I had no troubles with either of these, and thought it was a very quiet location. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly with any questions we asked, and even had a weird problem with my credit card (and a moment of panic) where they ended up taping the back of my credit card (on the swipe part) to make it work. The staff also rang up a tour and booked it for us, though this is not an advertised service... Read review

Switzerland Brig Blatten and Belalp
Review of General: Switzerland by  aberdarelad

Advantages: A relaxing time in wonderful surroundings - the scenery is breathtaking
Disadvantages: The cost!

...but travel on the cablecar a further 2500ft to Belalp. From the cablecar a footpath leads to the very comfortable, very friendly and very attractive Belalp Hotel. Believe me, any stay in Switzerland will be further enhanced by staying in the Belalp Hotel! The entire Brig/Blatten/Belalp area is dominated by the largest glacier anywhere in Europe - The Great Aletsch Glacier.... Read review

mmmm, customers services "or lack of
Review of 3 (Three mobile) by  wildybeast

Advantages: cheap calls
Disadvantages: dont expect good service

.... Yes sir they said, which was great until I travelled to switzerland and found that "handled" means incoming only!!!! Over all I have never had a satisfactory service from three, on each and every occasion I have called them. One occasion I even got three to ring my supplier of the phone and we had a three way conference call, my supplier backed me and said three were in the wrong but we still got nowhere. people. before entering a contract with three, make sure you read the smallprint and make sure EVERYTHING is clear and you know exactly what you are ordering... Simply Morzine, Simply Excellent
Review of Simply Morzine châlet des Montagnes, Morzine-Avoriaz by  pete_mill

Advantages: Service standards, excellent staff, great chalet
Disadvantages: none I can think of

...and Vincent from Simply Morzine for establishing a real customer friendly, service based company. It is to their credit that they have an all new team in Morzine this year, and yet Doog, Chris, Marien, Peggy and Mark are all superb and a credit to Simply Morzine. Top people, all of them. Just remembered, we had two days with the complementary guiding service. Day 1, Doog took us down to Linga on an awesome day's skiing. Day 2 Chris took us into Switzerland towards Croset, and then back up into Avoriaz. Both were very knowledgeable, and professional, and gave us real confidence in stretching our skiing (first blacks) and our coverage of the fantastic Portes du Soleil. In summary, a superb company, living a customer service ethic, staffed by a great team of people. The Chalet is lovely and perfect for a large group. The Hot-tub was particularly... Read review

Amazing place !
Review of General: Switzerland by  mdn

Advantages: Very Beautiful
Disadvantages: language

...I have been to Switzerland a couple of times, and still whenever I visit it there is always something new to see and it seems like a place which I have never been before and yet to discover. It has a mixture of everything, right from a fast moving city life in Zurich and Geneva to a calm and peaceful Interlaken which is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city life and traffic. Where one can live and breathe peacefully enjoying the snow covered mountains and beautiful scenary which captures the soul of every person and makes one want to come to the same place again and again .... Sion
Review of General: Switzerland by  Alanna13

Advantages: The breathtaking scenery
Disadvantages: There aren't any!

...Switzerland is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to, I would recommend going there, especially Sion. Sion Is situated in a valley between the mountains and is only about an hours drive from Geneva. It is in the region of Valais and so is French speaking. There are plenty of places to go and plenty of things to do. Sion is close to ski slopes and the swiss alps. There are also a wide range of shops and cafes/places to eat. Sions most famous landmarks however, are the two castles set upon hills in the valley, the view from them is stunning. The lifestyle is very laid back and the people are very friendly. Travelling is easy as you could set your watch by the trains. You may be put off by the prices, however, it isn't really that much more expensive than in England.... Read review

EasyJet - As Easy as it sounds
Review of EasyJet - EZU by  Kimpalmer

Advantages: Fast, Cheap, Easy
Disadvantages: Bad Food at a Bad Price

...I am a student and therefore don't have a lot of money. I wanted to visit my Brother in Zürich, Switzerland and decided to fly with EasyJet as it seemed a very good deal. I only needed to fly one way and payed £40. (For comparison, I spent £34 on a return train trip from Bournemouth to London today) Booking I booked online, which is sooooo easy! Doesn't cost a phone call and you don't have to leave the room! Got confirmation sent to me in an email, after paying with credit card (The website is secured). I printed out the email with my confirmation number and took it with me to the airport. Journey I arrived at Luton airport, which admitedly does not have much to do, but there are a good selection of shops. I collected my ticket at the check-in desk and preceeded to the flight lounge. 10 mins later and I was boarding. Walked out... Read review

Dropped from Heaven
Review of Lake Zurich by  tommartin

Advantages: One of the most beautiful countries in the world, very diverse, very high standards, brilliant services all round
Disadvantages: The prices! No really, the prices! Some of the people can be very insular.

...Imagine this:- 1hrs drive in any direction and you can be in a choice of six different countries, well if you make Zurich your base camp you can do just that. Zurich, although not the physical capital of Switzerland has been dubbed the cosmopoitan capital because of it's size, beuaty and finesse. The population of Switzerland itself stretches the imagination to a massive two and a bit million. You could fit the size of Switzerland into the U.K. about 3 and a half times. There are four different languages spoken in Switzerland:- German, French, Italian and Romanish, although there are actually 26 different regional dialects. This is a result of Switzerlands 26 different Cantons (counties), each has it's own regional government and each is totally different from the next. Switzerland has to be one of the single most diverse countries... Read review

Beautiful and expensive
Review of General: Switzerland by  JVL

Advantages: The scenery is fabulous, and the people are friendly
Disadvantages: But you can't understand what they're saying, and it's not cheap!

...I have had the pleasure of visiting Switzerland several times in the last few months, the border is only 2 hours to the south of Heidelberg, and although this is definitely a very expensive country to spend time in, it is well worth a visit! First and foremost, the scenery is generally stunning, as Switzerland is effectively the Alps... Basel, the city right on the border with France and Germany, sits on a plain at the foothills of this mountain range but as soon as you get to the southern side of the city, the peaks loom up out of the mist, and the main motorway cuts right through the valleys. It is a phenomenal drive if you are heading south to Milan, as the motorway carves a path between these towering mountainsides and the weather seems to change in each valley! It is pretty difficult to concentrate on the road with all... Read review

The ultimate European motorway guide
Review of Motorway Speed Limits by  rambo

Advantages: Good fun experience
Disadvantages: Complicated driving system across Europe

...- about £8 Nantes to Bordeaux - about £13 Mont Blanc Tunnel - about £11 single, £14 return - NOW CLOSED - opening date not advised. Tolls are also charged in Switzerland and Austria for driving on the motorways. You buy a sticker at the border. In Switzerland this costs 40 Swiss Francs for the current year plus January in the next year, and in Austria 70 schillings for 1 week or 150 schillings for 2 months.... Read review
