Reviews of crowne plaza
Crowne Plaza (NEC)
Review of Crowne Plaza (Birmingham) by
millie45
Advantages: Friendly staff, Excellent facilities
Disadvantages: none
...There are two hotels called the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham. As I found out at my peril... Ill explain later.
The first one is the Crown Plaza in the City Centre which is the one mentioned in the other review.
The one I stayed in is the one situated next to Birmingham NEC and is the one I have stayed in quite a few times.
I have to say I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel.
The most recent stay was when I booked us in before going to Prague. I had mistakenly booked the City Centre Hotel by mistake. I wanted the one by the NEC because of the Free transfers to the airport. On arrival the staff were very helpful in sorting out cancelling the reservation at the other hotel and getting us a room at their hotel. We even had a free upgrade and I dont know why!
The staff are very pleasant and helpful providing good local...

top class friendly hotel
Review of Crowne Plaza (Liverpool) by
suecowsill
Advantages: price (teletext offers), location, comfort, leisure facilities, food, friendly staff
Disadvantages: mid week prices to cater for business people
...If we stay in Liverpool, we stay in the Crowne Plaza, it's as simple as that. The teletext offers are marvellous and great value for money, but only cover the weekend usually. Week day bookings are brisk- business people stay here (so if you can get your employer to pay, do so!)
Anyway, my children LOVE staying here. From the moment we walk in, nothing is too much trouble for the staff, who are great. The leisure facilities are superb- swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, stem room, tanning suite, good bar area, children's room with games console..Breakfast is superb, and dinner worth sampling.(French flavour)
The bedrooms are very comfortable as well, many with a waterfront view.
The hotel is very convenient for the city centre if you like shopping, and close to the Albert Dock complex.
Well worth a visit, whether you are with children...

Leeds's best hotel
Review of Crowne Plaza (Leeds) by
suecowsill
Advantages: close to city centre, comfort, facilities, price (teletext offer)
Disadvantages: mid week prices
...I stayed here a few months ago when my cousin and I fancied a self-indulgent weekend away from our families. I booked using the teletext offer (I'm afraid that I wouldn't pay the normal rate for a Crowne Plaza, but the teletext offer is more than reasonable), and we arrived on the Friday afternoon ready to enjoy ourselves.
We checked in, had a coffee from the stock in the room, and went down to the leisure suite for a swim, sauna and jacuzzi...really relaxing!
Then we did it all again!
After that we went up to the bar and had a lovely capuccino and people watched.Interesting!
After a hectic night out in the nearby city, we relaxed the next morning in the leisure suite (again) and breakfasted. SUPER food and wonderfully presented..makes you want to try everything. And after an afternoon shopping for England, we made the most...

A jewel of a Crowne Plaza
Review of Crowne Plaza (Birmingham) by
Auntyfee
Advantages: Excellent location for the NEC and airport. Fantastic customer service.
Disadvantages: None
...I stayed at this hotel in November 2006 as I was in Birmingham for a business conference which was being staged at the NEC.
As normal our company travel agent (who shall remain nameless) messed up the booking and despite being asked to book this hotel (complete with postal code) had managed to book my colleague and I into the city centre Crowne Plaza. On arrival and discovery of the mix up we steeled ourselves for a fight (mainly with the travel agent to try and get them to sort out the mess they had created - not for the first time!) However it was completely unneccesary. The hotel staff were fantastic and arranged a transfer with the other hotel and booked us into two beautiful suites.
I stayed in the Hendrix suite which contained cd's of his music, complimentary copies of Vogue and Q magazines and a corner balcony.
We ate...

What only 3 Stars?
Review of Crowne Plaza Hotel, Liverpool by
gmkneen
Advantages: Great central position, next to ferries and albert dock
Disadvantages: Hard to get a room, overpriced drinks
...The Crowne Plaza is a truly superb hotel. Its an absolute joy to stay there, modern build complemented by historical imagery throughout. The reception is beneath a circle glass ceiling, it gives such a welcome regardless of the British weather.
The rooms are what you expect from the Crowne Plaza chain, part of holiday inn. Normally two big beds, with self controlled air conditioning, ensuite marble bathroom, stacked with plenty of toiletries. All the rooms are above floor 3, so you can take advantage of either a mersey or city view. Its wonderful to eat your breakfast watching the boats going up and down the river.
The carpark is controlled by a ticketed barrier, is well lit and has many cameras as well as a 8ft high fence, you feel happy to leave your car there.
Staff are both curteous and attentive to your needs, nothing is any...

Crowning Moments!
Review of Crowne Plaza (Liverpool) by
tastymorsel
Advantages: Excellent Service, Friendly Staff,
Disadvantages: None
...Situated directly opposite the Royal Liver Building, with great views of the Mersey the Crowne Plaza really is an excellent modern (1998) four star hotel.
Having never visited Liverpool before, the Crowne Plaza was an excellent choice. You are approximately ten minutes from the main city centre and five minutes from a vast array of local bistro’s and swanky restaurants and two minutes from the most popular Liverpool landmark “The Cavern”, where the Beatles played before they became famous.
Hotel Facilities
The Crowne Plaza has its own dedicated pampering facilities on the left of reception as you walk in. It is worth noting, unlike some hotels, there is no extra charge for using these facilities if you are a paying guest.
Sauna – Very good, with its panelled wooden effect it was very spacious compared to some places I have been. I...

Crowne and Glory
Review of Crowne Plaza (Liverpool) by
Dustybin
Advantages: Clean, Tidy, New, Impressive rooms, Reasonable Tarriffs.
Disadvantages: Can get busy if there are lots of functions, although there are separate functino rooms available.
...After a recent visit on business to Liverpool, I was firtunate enough to stay in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, situated near the Albert Dock, right on the edge of the River Mersey. Little did I know that this was to be one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in, and I do a LOT of travelling!!!
As soon as you drive into the car park, it hits you. Not the biggest hotel in the county, it has to be said, but then again - size isn't everything...
The door was opened for me and I entered the reception area. You are guarenteed to be welcomed with a warm smile and the people there were falling over backwards to help me.
The physical appearance is just stunning. The hotel is relatively new (about 3 years, I think...) but it was still something. Everything in my room, furniture I mean, was SOLID OAK. Not some cheap Oak Veneer or woodstain, we...

Chester Moat House/Crowne Plaza
Review of Chester Moat House, Chester by
amy_pea
Advantages: Excellent location, car park very near by, complementary use of lovely leisure facilities.
Disadvantages: Building not very attractive, must pay for car park.
...Having just returned from a weekend break at the Crowne Plaza I can very highly recommend it.
The staff were excellent and the attention to detail was super.
The room was lovely and although I would've appreciated more than one chair it was very clean and had everything we could have wanted and more - hairdryer, iron and board, digital safe, toiletries and drinks.
The swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi were great and the opening hours were very extensive even for a bank holiday weekend. There was also a gym which although we did not use looked excellent and we had the opportunity to take part in fitness classes too. The hotel provided towels for when these facilites were used and the changing rooms were very well equipped with toiletries. There is also a spa which does facials, massages, pedicures, manicures etc...

A national treasure
Review of American Hotel, Amsterdam by
mallorn
Advantages: Centrally Located, large rooms, beautiful architecture.
Disadvantages: None.
...The American Hotel is part of the Crowne Plaza chain, centrally located near the Liedesplein.
It's more than a hotel though, it's a national treasure, with superb Art Nouveau and Art Deco touches both inside and out.
The lobby is clean and efficient, belying the architectural treasures hidden within, and if you feel homesick, you can 'rent' a goldfish for the duration of your stay.
The staff are attentive and the bar is a delight, lined with celebrity pictures taken in the bar.
Our room was large, and luxuriously furnished, with views over the Liedesplein, but despite that we weren't disturbed by the trams.
I wouldn't bother with the hotel breakfast, which is a bit overpriced at €15, particularly as it's only a 15-minute walk to the pancake shops at the flower market....

Fantastic hotel
Review of Crowne Plaza (Leeds) by
babyj
Advantages: Great restaurants around, walking distance of all amenities
Disadvantages: The mini bar
...Me and my boyriend fancied a weekend away shopping and clubbing just before Christmas. Luckly I work in the travel industry and was able to get good discount on the Crowne Plaza.
When we arrived, late at night and tired, the staff were friendly and helpful. We made our way to our room and it was above standard, providing everything we needed and was clean.
Due to the fact we arrived late we orded a pizza for delivery to the hotel - the staff were fine with this.
The breakfast was lovely and again staff were very accomadating when my boyfriend asked for his eggs to be done a different way (typical!) We however didn't have any evening meals there which may have worked out for the best as there were a few Christmas work parties being held in the hotel.
The sauna, swimming pool and steam room were lovely, and were included...
