Better than strap-on racks but wont last long
Review of Pendle Wheel Support Bike Racks by
adrianjfrost
Advantages: Chunky, engineered product
Disadvantages: Alas heavy, bulky to store and readily corrodes
...the bikes got a good clean after most trips and the rack was hosed down at the same time I was of the view that was what I was doing.
Figured it may not get much worse, but it was decided not to sell the racks in the shop lest we had to face similar disgruntled customers
Storing the rack was a pain too, as its pretty heave and bulky so was easier if two people put it away- all that steel again
By end of the second year of use, the galavnised pieces still looked shiny but the rest was a mess. Much of the paint has bubbled from underneath (like car bodywork did in the 70's) and large flakes of black paint littered the back of the garage. It became embarrasing to fix this to my nice car and put a £2000 bike in it.
For something that retailed over £150 this was pretty poor show, in my opinion - our Thule roof stuff and Hollywood boot rack...

Gibraltar the best rack to buy
Review of Gibraltar Racks Road Series by
m.want163
Advantages: strong, sturdy, simple, easy to set up
Disadvantages: four legs so can be unbalanced
...i have owned the gibraltar road series rack for a couple of years and it is a must buy, providing you have the money. the simplicity of the design makes it easy to move around, to gigs/practices and also helps with space issues. the best feature for me is the flexibility of the ball joints used for connecting toms to the rack, they allow the tom to be at any angle, which for anyone with rack mountable toms need. one drawback i have encountered with the rack is if the floor is uneven the rack does not balance with all legs on the floor, which is extremely annoying and unstable, especially if you have expensive equipment attached to it which could get damaged. To finish on a plus, the hardware is very strong and good longevity, i feel the rack will last me for the rest of my playing career....

First, the Wonder Brush - Now, THE RACK
Review of Munchkin Bottle Drying Rack & Brush Set by
freyaschild
Advantages: Allows bottles, nipples, and all accessories to dry in the same place
Disadvantages: Unless emptied, has a tendency to collect water
...So, now you have finished washing all of those bottles with the highly acclaimed Munchkin Deluxe Bottle Brush. Can't just put them in the strainer, right? You could, but they'll most likely tip over, collect water, won't dry completely, etc. You could put them in the dishwasher, which is not a bad idea, normally, as this will generally "sanitize" them, except when you put REALLY dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and then, as you well know, what was on a few dishes is on ALL the dishes. Or, you could drop them on <fanfare> The Munchkin Bottle Drying Rack (and brush set.) NOTE: As mentioned in the previous review, KEEP the nipple brush from the brush set that comes with the rack, and toss the regular brush.

Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute Drum Kit
Review of Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute Drumkit by
jimmy58
Advantages: Design, fit, finish & sound excellent!
Disadvantages: New lugs take a little getting used to.
...with sealed air compression between plies with the plies cross jointed for strength.. This makes for a thin and very durable shell which both companies back with great replacement guarantees for the life of the shells (as long as abuse is not the reason the shell breaks).
All in all I made the weight of the drums and the price major factors in my decision for the Yamahas. All top line drums will have the ability to sound great. You just need the right heads (I changed the Yamaha stock heads to coated Evans G2's on the toms right out of the box) and the ability to experiment with the different sounds the drums offer. Yamaha is to be considered for anyone seeking a top end pro kit.
My Kit: Yamaha Maple Custom Nouveau in Blue Sparkle Lacquer finish.
My Sizes: Bass Drum 22 diameter x 16 deep, rack toms with standard depths 10 & 12, floor toms...

KNOT bad at all
Review of Tie Rack (Shop) by
Donnie_Brasco
Advantages: Value for money, Good Quality Goods, Unique gift ideas
Disadvantages: Lack of store space, Old-fashioned image
...An international brand name that offers quality products at reasonable prices, Tie Rack is a shopping chain that does not get the recognition that it deserves.
You may think of Tie Rack as being a shop for the more mature customers, but you are wrong. They strike a very good balance in catering for everyone's taste regardless of age.
Tie Rack is a great place to find gifts for men and women of all ages and the stores are conveniently placed in locations where you may need to find a last-minute present. You would usually find them located in Airports, Underground Stations and City Centres in stores slightly bigger than a shoe box. However there is a lot of stock on offer in such small units.
Dont be decieved by the name either, Tie Rack is not just about ties! Tie Rack sells a whole range of products ranging from ladies...

Unbeatable On So Many Levels!
Review of Tire Rack Online Performance Tires by
ktk3438
Advantages: Selection, price, speedy delivery, great customer service
Disadvantages: None found to date
...What can I say about Tire rack that would sum it all up?
AWESOME!
I was referred to them by a friend, and have looked to them for over a year at first, just so I could see what fits my vehicles, and what people think of the tires. I've looked at other online tire vendors, and NOT ONE has all the great features Tire Rack offers.
I dumped a couple different into the wish list, anticipating the need for tires coming up. Makes it easier so I don't have to start all over again searching. Then I can easily come back, and pull the specs on those I've considered.
The customer reviews are probably the most widely used feature for me. I don't just want to hear what the "Experts" have to say, I want to know the average Joe tells about how that tire performed on the same vehicle as mine. I know some tires are awesome on some cars...

Custom Robo: You'll Hate it and Love it.
Review of Custom Robo (NDS) by
cobadee
Advantages: Battling is super fun. Battle graphics rock!
Disadvantages: RPG is super boring. RPG graphics suck!
...Custom Robo came out a few years ago on the Gamecube. Why have you not heard of it? Well, it wasn't very good. Simple enough answer? Custom Robo has been in Japan since the days of the N64 but has never gained popularity in the US. Custom Robo Arena for the DS is the first game in the series to be a huge success in the US, and its obvious why success would follow this title, it is a great game!
Story:
Imagine a world where children fighting with robots that shoot missiles and bombs at each other was completely acceptable. In Custom Robo: Arena for the Nintendo DS, the story is just that. Your character wakes up one day and his dad gives him a Custom Robo. These robots are tiny little things that the characters in the game battle in small arenas, think of it as advanced Rock 'em Sock 'em robots. Okay, well they could've gone somewhere...

customer service? What customer service?
Review of Tesco Customer Service by
almaa31
Advantages: it used to be very good...
Disadvantages: awful customer service if you get problems with your order!
...To make a short story long....I've ordered many times last year from Tesco online shopping and never had a single problem. Everything was brilliant. I moved away and decided recently to start shopping again on line. The morning when my first delivery -2 days after my order- was due, a person from the store called me and said I wouldn't be delivered because my debit card had been declined. My card was fine and I had money on my account etc. so I assumed I had entered the wrong card number (though I'm sure I had double-checked. He then suggested that I contact the customer service helpline. (I had checked that Tesco debits you before making the delivery so they had plenty of time to inform me about my card being declined!) Beside the poor service, nobody at the helpline was able to tell me when I could be delivered again though I had...

My first few weeks as a customer adviser
Review of Customer Services Advisor by
lauzc69
Advantages: Good pay for my age, meet lots of new people, not to stressful
Disadvantages: Don't think there is any, I love it!
...I got the job today as a customer adviser at a building society! I'm only 17 and don't know the first thing about Bonds, Shares, Investing etc so I am sort of worried! I'm thrilled. I came across this topic on ciao while browsing around and thought I'd give it a go at letting people know what's involved in becoming a customer adviser, what sort of works involved, what the job entails, all about the training and if it's all it's cracked up to be. This review will be based on my experience. Obviously I won't be completing it all in one go as I've only just got the job today and not yet started, but I will add more information throughout my job.
I went to the job Centre looking for a job; just anything would have done really. Since loosing my job at boots, well my contract ended, I have been searching for a job to bring me some income...

Customer Service Assistant on a Railway
Review of Customer Services Advisor by
luckyduke
Advantages: Pay is OK, always something to do, good benefits
Disadvantages: Annoying customers
...OK this is a review about a customer service assistant BUT I'm also generally reviewing working for a railway as it isn't on here and as it's quite a popular employment I will review that too...!
Being a customer service assistant/advisor CAN be rewarding. It's good to know that you can provide helpful information to customers and it's nice when they go off happy and grateful saying how helpful you are. If your in an office like me as a CSA there is alwyas plenty to do so your day never goes by slowly. There is serving customers which is a big part of the job but there's the paperwork, inputting information on the computer systems, answering phones, cash handling, etc so you never find yourself short of things to do.
Working as a CSA has it's benefits too. Working within London your entitled to a nice sum of money called the London...
