Disadvantages: Just about everything you would expect from a modern airline is missing.

...INTRODUCTION As a family we've flown with KTHY every summer for the last 9 years, over which they've gradually been getting worse and worse. As you'll begin to understand from my review, this is not out of choice but of necessity as quite simply its the only way to get to the beautiful North Cyprus without incredible amounts of hassle. That is, if you consider 'without incredible amounts of hassle' to be flying with one of the worst scheduled airlines in the world... Firstly, I would like to state that North Cyprus is one of the most beautiful, unspoilt, non-touristified holiday destinations in the world and I am in no way trying to put people off going here and supporting the mostly wondeful people who live here and their struggling economy. ...I had the pleasure of going to Cyprus last year for my elder sisters wedding (3rd). 1st being in a church the traditional way 2nd being at Gretna Green...not so tradtional 3rd biting the bullet and jeting off to Cyprus anyway My Niece who is a travel agent took control of booking the flights which was great,but I also was monitoring the flight prices on the Cyprus Airways website,which was very quick and easy to use. We managed to get quite a good price thanks for niecy doing nothing for days but trying to find us the cheapest flight. so rest assured this was the cheapest way to get to Cyprus last September. The tickets arrived a little later than i would have liked,but they were here before the holiday. ...I went To Cyprus On the 27th Dec to spend a fortnight there with my boyfriend who is based in the army there. We stayed in Larnaca which is a quiet area of Cyprus but you can hit a few pubs and clubs if you take a short taxi ride into the Town Centre. Limassol is only an hr away and Aiya Napa is just 45 mins away if you want a busy nightlife. I spent New Year in Limassol and it was great with fireworks in the street and cheap drinks in the pubs. This is a great place to go and I will be returning for a holdiday there in Summer. The weather was nice even in December/January and I can't wait to go back there for the real heat in July. Cyprus is ideal for just about anybody and there are great opportunities to travel while you are there. I went to Egypt by boat for 3 days and it was a bargain at just £80 each. If it's scenery... Advantages: Beuatiful Scenery, Very friendly People, Cheap Living (Alcohol, Food, Cigarettes - if applicable), Packed full of activities (especially for trekkers and the adventerous holiday-er), If look hard (-and in unusual places, will find good cheap accomodation)
Disadvantages: Not much to do in terms of clublife (unless travel to the nearest biggest city of Paphos), Can be very hot during summer months (although not as much as Dubai for example)

...for you, and will probably end up either lost or bored. Anyway off to the review. * The Itinery * Being in Dubai, we flew a direct flight with Cyprus Airways to Larnaca. Flight was terrible, if you can fly with anybody else, do (see Cyprus Airways review) Once arrived in Larnaca, we had a coach trip arranged to take us up to the lodgings (however, if flying from the UK, I think that they do direct flights to Paphos, which is much more convenient as the bus ride is about 3 to 4 hours) However, if youd prefer to sample the cypriot landscape, fly in to Larnaca. Buses leave daily to other airports, such as Paphos, for very little cost. If you want to dare the local transport mind. The flight cost us AED980 which is just over £160. ...I know I've written a lot of reviews recently but it's keeping me entertained while I'm not working and milling around the house, so I hope you can all keep up!! My keyboard on my computer is also a bit naff so please excuse the fact that I can't include any pound signs in my review!! I lived in Cyprus for nine months last year so have a load of information to give. So this is going to be a long one so I hope you aren't all bored to tears by the time you get to the bottom but here we go... ABOUT CYPRUS: I lived on the north west coast of Cyprus in a small town called Polis which is about an hour north of Pafos. This area benefits from being relatively unspoilt so you get to see more of the 'real' Cyprus rather than Pafos which is so commercial now it is pretty much like a hot England! ...Me and my husband stayed at the Laura Beach hotel Cyprus from 20th June to 28th June 2007 with Libra holidays. Please note this hotel is also known as Luca Laura Beach and also Cyprotel Laura Beach depending on the brochure, I questioned the rep about this and apparently it used to be part of the Luca group of hotels but has been de-branded. We paid £400 each all inclusive including reserved flight seats. HOTEL The hotel is situated about 30-40 minutes drive from the airport but this does depend on how many drop off's there are. It is situated on the beach front if you can call it that, as it is man made and you do need to go down several steep paths and steps which with the sand are very slippy needless to say when you finally meet the bottom there are a lot of rocks, we only ventured down the once.
