Mel and Deano's Blind Date Part 2
Review of Everything that starts with P ... by  deano_76

Advantages: Well you never know, it could happen
Disadvantages: Well you never know, it probably won't

...der da da da da da. (Blind date theme tune in case you’re confused) 5: MADLADS35 – Name: Matthew – Likes – Video games, being a Ciao Category assistant and gloating (Snigger) HONEYBEE – Name: Laura – Likes – Rubbish R n B tunes and anything girly (EG – Dollies and glitter make up) I pitched these two together because up until recently (probably because they are both busy with school and college stuff) these two seemed almost inseparable. They were always the first to read each others opinions and they even turned purple together, a mere few hundred points apart. Although Matt was a tad upset because Laura got there first. QUESTIONS: Matthew: Hi Laura, Laura: Hello Matt Matthew: I am this months Ciao category assistant for the games section GLOAT! So I really like to play computer games... Read review

Netto, the land of no shelves
Review of Netto (Shop) by  Sheriff_Clow

Advantages: Cheepo goods
Disadvantages: No shelves, poor selection of goods

...The land of no shelves?!! You will know what i mean if you have ever been! The products are sooooooooo cheepo that the company need to save every penny they can and so cannot afford to have any shelves! Ok, a slight over exaggeration there are some shelves but many products are just stacked up in boxes. When i was younger we used to tease other kids for shopping at Netto. It was seen as a sign that you were poor and so shoped there because you didnt have much money. We used to sing to the Netto-ettes "Lets all go to Netto, Where 'rachel' gets her clothes from, da-da-da-da woo, da-da-da-da woo. They really are quite nifty, they only cost £one-fifty, da-da-da-da woo, da-da-da-da woo." In hinesight it was the tightest thing on this earth to do but kids will be kids. The most bizzare thing is that Netto dont even sell clothes! Even now... Read review

Silent Hill Movie
Review of Silent Hill DVD by  stevogarvey

Advantages: A good watch, some interesting adaptaions.
Disadvantages: Not entirly true to the video games.

...THE MOVIE REVIEW RATHER THAN DVD FEATURES! INTRO The Silent Hill DVD is a 2006 Horror film which was directed by Christoph Gans and was written by Roger Avary. The film takes its idea from the adaptation of Konami's Silent Hill video game. The film takes its inspiration from numerous Silent Hill video games including Silent Hill, Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3. However the main body of the movie has its own adaptation. CAST Radha Mitchell as Rose Da Silva, Sean Bean as Christopher Da Silva Jodelle Ferland as Sharon Da Silva and Alessa Gillespie Laurie Holden as Cybil Bennett Deborah Kara Unger as Dahlia Gillespie Alice Krige as Christabella PLOT The movie depicts a mother who takes her daughter to Silent Hill because of her out cries of "SILENT HILL" when sleeping. Having to bombard Silent Hills gates the mother (Rose... Read review

The Da Vinci Code (PS2)
Review of The Da Vinci Code (PS2) by  anakha6

Advantages: Fun puzzles, good graphics, good sound, hard to complete
Disadvantages: Storyline bit linear, poor combat system.

...The Da Vinci Code roles everything into one with combat, puzzles to solve, stealth to pull off and more. TRUTH TO MOVIE The game generally follows the storyline of the movie, there is some extra events added that could not have happened in the movie but the plot of the game and film are similar is most aspects. 4/5 COMBAT SYSTEM The combat system is very basic and uses a system of controls that would be more suited to a dance game (press the right button as it appears on the screen). I think that it is obvious that this game was not designed with the combat system in mind and that it was just a necessity. 2/5 NON-COMBAT GAMPLAY This is where this game excels, there are puzzles to solve which are quite complicated, you have to sneak past enemies and make tactical decisions about who to fight and who to avoid as well as which path... Dangerous - Everyone should own a copy!
Review of Dangerous [Remastered] - Michael Jackson by  theskysthelimit

Advantages: Funky, Cool, Good mix - Awesome!
Disadvantages: The remastered album doesnt have any extras

...and a pulsing beat, a catchy chorus and an all round "feel good" song. The only thing that may annoy some people is the loud gasps heard between each breath like a metronome of sorts, "Do you remember *dah* when we..." keep an ear out for it, it appears on loads of songs such as bad and other songs on all his albums! Cant let her get away -starts very JamesBrown-esque with the "da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-pow" you almost imagine a "get on upa!!" but the song is nothing like that, again MJ is building on old styles to create totally new ones making a successful song with the base sound track being his own beat box! Good lyrics and a top noch filler. My fave part being the "get intoooooooooooooo......" where the note really carries on over the beat box. A really different style of vocal of something you wouldnt have ever heard ever before like... Read review

A-MAX NAPA DAV311
Review of A-MAX Technology CD / MP3 / VCD player by  cornucopia

Advantages: Cheap, plays VCD
Disadvantages: Poor quality construction, uses up batteries very quickly

...to the manufacturer the following is the battery operating times: 3-5 hours (MP3/128kbps or VCD / Alkaline Type) 5-8 hours (CD-DA with ESP / Alkaline Type) 7-10 hours (CD-DA without ESP/Alkaline Type) Having used this player to play files at 192kbs I am lucky if I can get one hour of listening time using the rechargeable batteries that were supplied with it, given that they were an unknown brand I put this problem down to them being poor quality rechargeable batteries, I replaced them with a well known brand to no avail as the playing time did not improve. I also tried assorted other types of battery and there still has been no improvement, I accepted the fact that using a higher bitrate would lead to more power consumption to decode those MP3s but sadly I don't think under one hour is acceptable, I have had 2 replacements for this player so far... Updated (?) version of the JVC LT-20DA6
Review of JVC LT-20DA7 by  shricthism

Advantages: Brilliant Picture , sensitive tuner
Disadvantages: No Off switch, always on standby ( but only uses 3W)

...Before I start this review I should say that this review is very similar to my review of the JVC LT-20DA6. The reason is simple - The TVs are very similar, the DA7 being the "updated" version of the DA6, although many retailers are still selling the DA6. Some web sites claim features for the DA7 above those for the DA6, eg HD ready, Sub woofer out, or simulated surround sound. In fact neither is HD ready and the DA6 had the others. I have looked at the specification in some detail and so far as I can see there is absolutely no difference in function for the 2 TVs. The difference is that the DA6 runs via a transformer at 12 Volts whereas the DA7 runs at 24 Volts. JVC say that this has reduced maximum power consumption from 80 watts to 60 watts. I guess the 12V issue is of no relevance to anyone - except caravan or boat dwellers who can... Read review

O2 XDA2i
Review of O2 XDA IIi by  AndrewIsANGERED

Advantages: It Has/Is PDA, Phone, Windows Mobile 2003, Wifi, Bluetooth
Disadvantages: Battery Could Be Better

...This is an excellent Mobile Phone/PDA The PDA aspect of this device can pretty much handle anything you can throw at it with its 128mb ram and 500+mhz processor. The 3.5" screen is perfect for watching movies on the go (if your memory card is large enough) The internal 128Mb persistent storage is also handy for what ever you want to store on it (personally I use it for mp3s and backups) Features and opinions IrDA - I have only ever used this once on this device and was rather slow (as it is slow IR on the device) Bluetooth - I Have NEVER had a problem with the Bluetooth on this device it has always been reliable and fast no matter what i have connected it to (Phones, PCs, Printers etc..) WIFI - The range for this is superb fast and reliable as with Bluetooth I have never had a problem with this apart from the fact that using wifi... Read review

You respect me you respect the disaronno
Review of Amaretto by  jcneil

Advantages: Great Taste, Versatility
Disadvantages: None

...Back in 1525 Disaronno Amaretto was first made and it is the best selling Italian Liquer worldwide. The invention of Amaretto is quite a strange one a Saronno church commissioned artist and Da Vinci student Bernardino Luini to paint their sanctuary with frescoes. s the church was dedicated to the Virgin Mary, Luini needed to depict the Madonna, but was in need of a model. He found his inspiration in a young widowed innkeeper, who became his model and (in most versions) lover. Out of gratitude and affection, the woman wished to give him a gift. Her simple means did not permit much, so she steeped apricot kernels in brandy and presented the resulting concoction to a touched Luini. This Liquer comes in a very nice distinctive bottle with a screw cap and the words Disaronno Originale on the front of the bottle. ''The World's favourite... Read review
