Premier Inn Blackpool - value for money
Review of Premier Travel Inn Blackpool - South, Blackpool by
lobourse
Advantages: Clear, bright, comfortable, efficient
Disadvantages: Not the most attractive of locations, need ID if you pay cash
...The Blackpool Central Premier Inn is situated in Yeadon Way, pretty much half-way between Bloomfield Road (the home of Blackpool Football Club) and the Pleasure Beach (home of the Big One rollercoaster). Premier Inns are part of the Whitbread group and were recently voted among the best 20 big companies to work for, as attested to by the certificate proudly on display in reception. It claims to be the largest hotel chain in the UK, with over 490 hotels nationwide. This Premier Inn is an unprepossessing, modern brick building, just off a dual carriageway, near a petrol station. Quaint the location is not, but reflects the functional rather than flashy character of the hotel.
= BOOKING PROCESS =
The website (www.premierinn.com) is cheerfully laid out in the company colours of purple and white. It helpfully has an express...

A night at a Days Inn in Orlando
Review of Days Inn, Orlando by
ajfoster
Advantages: 24-hour front desk, allows pets, conveniently close to Disney attractions
Disadvantages: No ghosts, property in poor condition and maintenance
...When people stay at a lodging, they have certain expectations. Cleanliness and good condition of the property are usually tops on the list, no matter how low the rate is. Unfortunately, my visit at the Lake Buena Vista location of the Days Inn was too brief to either strengthen or dash my first impressions, but there is no reason why management should expose any guest to neglect of its property. Once someone pays for professional hospitality, a reasonable standard should be maintained. While I never felt I was in any danger at this particular location of the Days Inn, I was flabbergasted that the American Auto Association (AAA)* would promote a hotel that was in such shabby condition. As a representative for a big chain of hotels, the one found at 12799 South Apopka-Vineland Road in Orlando speaks poorly.
When Russell and I...

Virginia Beach is for Lovers
Review of Virginia Beach by
Pelenya
Advantages: Fun for everyone, great family getaway, beautiful beaches
Disadvantages: Great distance from attraction to attraction
...As I live only about an hour from Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA, I tend to visit it quite frequently - either for a weekend or simply for a day. It is always a fun outing with a wide variety of offerings.
To get to Virginia Beach from the Eastern Shore (where I live), one must travel across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel (recently renamed the Lucius Kellam Memorial Bridge, after its founder). This is a marvel in itself. The bridge is approximately 20 miles long. It was originally one span with single lanes of traffic heading both north and south. With the increasing traffic, more and more head-on collisions were occurring (often with fatalities), and so a second span was built and completed about three years ago. Since the second span was completed, I know that I personally feel more comfortable and safer traveling...

Come on Inn the hotels lovely...
Review of City Inn, Glasgow by
Shoka
Advantages: Amazing food, friendly and professional staff, lovely rooms
Disadvantages: £20 cab ride away from airport, sound proofing not as good as it could be
...really professional and act like they enjoy their work.
Our server asked if we'd like to see the wine list, and produced it promptly. I was given the task of selecting our wine, so I took a peek.
There was a good selection, covering old and new world wine very well. The cheapest bottle on the list for white was - lezard chardonnay, bernard coste, Languedoc, France 2005 £14.50 or £5.25 a 250ml glass. The cheapest red was from the same vineyard but was merlot instead; cost was the same by bottle and glass. The list went up in value to £55 for the whites and £65 for the reds. Champagne started at £38 a bottle (forget-brimont premier cru brut) and went up to £55 for Bollinger.
I chose for us a bottle of long beach Chenin Blanc, stellenbosch, 2006 which is a South African wine. That was £14.95. The bottle was brought out and tasted...

Beach Based Beds In Byron
Review of Backpackers' Inn On The Beach by
zoe_page
Advantages: In a quiet part of town and right on the beach
Disadvantages: Costs a fraction more than other hostels per bed per night
...Booking accommodation for the Christmas period is always tough. Ditto booking accommodation on a strict budget, booking accommodation when there are a few of you, and booking accommodation in a specific location with specific features. These were all issues when we booked our accommodation for our Christmas stay in Byron Bay, and even though we booked what we thought was well in advance (early October), our choices were limited. For this reason we went with the first hostel that could fit us in - the Backpackers Inn on the Beach - and booked for the 4 of us to stay 4 nights.
When we booked we were told they couldn't guarantee we'd all be in the same room, which seemed a bit strange since there were 4 of us, and many of their rooms sleep 4, but when we arrived they happily gave us a room to ourselves. Dorms and private rooms...

Two Days at the Days Inn
Review of Days Inn, Niagara Falls by
chcouper
Advantages: Location, cheap
Disadvantages: Staff
...My friend and I stayed at the Days Inn in Niagara for two nights in May at the start of our tour round Eastern Canada. We’d booked this as part of our Globespan holiday so I don’t know how efficient the booking process was. The hotel was three star and we certainly didn’t pay over the odds for our stay, although I don’t know exactly how much we paid.
Arrival
We arrived at the Days Inn at around 3am Canada time, or 8am according to our body clocks! We breathed a sigh of relief as our bus finally pulled up outside the hotel (our flight had been delayed quite a bit so neither of us was in the best of form by this stage!). I’d heard great things about the friendliness of the Canadian race from friends who had been to Canada before so was expecting a nice warm welcome from the hotel staff – you’d expect those in the hospitality...

Get Your Get Up & Go At Premier Travel Inn Gatwick
Review of Premier Travel Inn Gatwick Airport - South, Crawley by
memphisto_chick
Advantages: Close to both terminals, clean, friendly staff, value for money
Disadvantages: Food in restaurant average quality for above average price, no machines selling toiletries.
...On our recent trip to Las Vegas, we had to fly from London Gatwick. Living in Wales, driving up on the morning of the flight would have been fraught and not very pleasant, so we decided to do the decent thing and splash out and treat ourselves (!) to a night in a Premier Travel Inn.
Our reason for choosing this hotel was simple, we had stayed here last year and we knew the location of the hotel and we had had a good stay in this hotel so why not come back again for a place to lay our heads?
This time, however, we had more time to spend in the hotel, due to using Virgin Atlantic's twilight check in service at 3pm the day before our flight..
LOCATION:
Despite it's name, it is actually closer to the North Terminal at London Gatwick, situated about 5 minutes off the A23 and about 7 minutes drive from South Terminal car parks...

IT'S BEEN A HARD DAYS NIGHT AT THE INN
Review of Days Inn Birmingham East, Birmingham by
belinda9
Advantages: Immaculately Clean, nicxe price, friendly staff, great location
Disadvantages: None, I can think of.
...I've been waiting to tell you all about this fine hotel for a while now, but Ciao have been very slow and must have taken about a month to add this to the categories.
The Days Inn Birmingham was the last resort, I had one of my bored days at work and decided yet again at the last minute that me and hubbie should hit the city. I tried the hotels in Manchester, some in Nottingham, then the last resort Birmingham. I rang a few of them and all were booked up, so when I rang Days Inn I was expecting them to say "sorry we are booked too". That wasn't the case , the girl at the other end of the phone mumbled something like £68 a room per night, I thought sod it we will stay two nights.
She asked for my debit card number to secure the booking and I told her we would be there by 8pm that Saturday night.
The Days Inn is located...

Days Inn or Hotel depending where you look!
Review of Days Inn, Wakefield by
clarej69
Advantages: Location, cost, staff!
Disadvantages: No air con :o(
...After being invited to a party in Yorkshire, we had the joy of finding a hotel that was close to where the party was being held.
After a 20minute search on expedia we came across the Days Inn (Called the Days Inn on here and on Expedia but its actually called the Days Hotel).
--Location--
The hotel is a 2 minute drive from junction 40 the M1 motorway. Once you come off the motorway, follow the A638 towards Wakefield and turn left at the first lights. The hotel is on the right.
The hotel is a 10 minute drive from Leeds city centre and 2 miles from the centre of Wakefield.
There is a morrisons supermarket around 5 mins drive from the hotel, although be careful there are at least 3 speed cameras on the way!
--Price--
Costs of rooms vary on which room you want and which nights you stay.
Standard Room (Mon-Thu) starts at £59...

Gordano Services Days Inn- Excellent!
Review of Days Inn Bristol West, Bristol by
ginger59
Advantages: inexpensive, easy to find, same standard everywhere, good standard of comfort
Disadvantages: no variety
...I had to go to Bristol a few days ago and tried to get a hotel booking at short notice-hoping to go on the train. If I drive, it takes ma a good 4 hours on the motorway and you can't really relax like you can on the train. Anyway, there were no hotels available at a reasonable price so I decided that I had to drive.
The next issue was where to stay if I did. The M5 has several service stations and I had stayed at Michaelwood services previously. I hadn't tried Gordano, so I logged onto the Laterooms website and looked at the rooms available- success! There was an executive room on the night I wanted so I rang laterooms and booked it.
