Def Jam Vendetta
Review of Def Jam Vendetta (PS2) by
jam_2004
Advantages: A hip-hop wrestling game to compete with Smackdown!
Disadvantages: Limited modes and there are no objects to interact with
...Def Jam Vendetta is a wrestling simulation. Unlike the Smackdown! series this game is based on the hip-hop Def Jam record label instead of proffesional wrestlers. So you won't be seeing the likes of The Rock, Randy Orton or Batista instead you'll be seeing DMX, Nore and Ludracris.
Def Jam Vendetta is developed by the AKI Corporation who used to develop the WCW wrestling games until it became defunt in November 2001. EA Big publishes the game instead of EA Games.
Def Jam Vendetta is different from Smackdown! in a few ways. Basically in the game you have a Story Mode and Exhibition Mode I'll firstly explain the Story Mode. You can choose from 4 wrestlers to fight as throughout the Story Mode. On your laptop you will recieve various e-mails about fights you can participate in. You are stepping in for Manny who is injured...

V for Vendetta.
Review of V For Vendetta (Deluxe Edition) by
Timbo3107
Advantages: Thought provoking film.
Disadvantages: Slows down in the middle part.
...Hello there and welcome to my 27th review on Ciao.
Today I have was given my Easter present from my beloved, knowing that I have a slight passion for these types of film she bought me the 2 disc set of V for Vendetta on DVD. Now this was not a film that I saw when released at the cinema at all as I didn't think that it would interest me. Well safe to say now after watching it that I was well wrong on this matter, please read on…..
---The Source---
V for Vendetta was originally a graphic novel released in the early part of the 1980's. Originally published as a strip in Warrior, a publication along similar lines as 2000AD which at this time was selling at its peak.
This told a story of a rebel in a broken society attempting to drive through change by any means, this was at a time when the Conservative Party was starting...

V isn't just for Vendetta
Review of V for Vendetta by
LukeRichardson
Advantages: Gripping Story line, Unique Actors
Disadvantages: Ability to Confuse
...V for Vendetta, an action thriller not restricted to the confines of the stereotypical good guy/ bad guy image, no, this film is much much more.
Okay so first of all we recognise that this is going to be slightly more confusing than your average movie as it is written by the makers of the matrix. This does however present us with an exciting prospect, can this really be as good as the matrix?
In truth, yes it can. With stars such as Hugo Weaving, John Hurt, Natalie Portman and Stephen Fry V is an exciting fast paced thriller which actually presents the viewing audience with something to think about whislt watching stuff get blown up, cant ask for more really.
The movie is adapted from the 1980's graphic novel by David Lloyd and Alan Moore, we are transported to a futuristic fascist Britain ruled over by the 'Supreme Chancellor...

The real James Dean?
Review of James Dean Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Paul Alexander by
gypsyangel
Advantages: Interesting insight into Dean's life.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any.
...I don't know if anyone will ever know the real truth behind the facade of the late James Dean but this book is one of many biographies I have read about the actor and has a reality to it that I haven't found in others.
The enigmatic James Dean is now a figure of iconic status but what was he really like? The author of "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" ,Paul Alexander, claims to tell us just that.
The book is in sections ranging from Dean's birth and early childhood to Dean's death in a car crash at the young age of 24 in 1955.
The book covers Dean's childhood telling the reader about his relationship with his beloved mother and the huge changes he entailed after her death when he went to live with his aunt and uncle in Fairmount,Indiana. We hear of Dean's strained relationship with his father that left him feeling like a lost soul...

Dean Martin... Do you know him?
Review of Dino (The Essential Dean Martin) - Dean Martin by
cuteygirl
Advantages: 30 classic hits on one budget priced album nicely made
Disadvantages: Not remastered but not that bad really it as sounds fine
...Dino Paul Crocetti, or Dean Martin as we all know him, member of the original Rat Pack, was one of the greatest performers of his time. I purchased this CD in Virgin some time ago now, so I don't know what the going rate online for this album currently is. There are many places you can look for cheap CDs but it isn't my job to list websites, but to review this compilation CD.
First of all, I'm not sure how many young people Dean would appeal to. I think the younger generation ought to be introduced to him and this album is the perfect introduction. It has all his number one hits, some obscure songs and my personal favourite, Volare. Sadly, this compilation is not remastered in any way, but in some ways it adds to the closeness you feel while listening to the album. You feel he is in the same room with you. I think this album...

"Dragon Tears" by Dean Koontz
Review of Dragon Tears - Dean Koontz by
zenmachado
Advantages: Great Theme and Characters
Disadvantages: Pacing and Ending are Slow and Bland
..."Dragon Tears" is not a novel for the timid. Neither is it for those searching for an easy read. You see, this horror novel by Dean Koontz, is slow paced and at times difficult to focus on. In it, you do find great and somewhat poetically descriptive writing. Yet sadly, the author concentrates too much on description and ultimately leaves us wondering why we should read on. Now, by no means is this novel void of anything good for it holds creative and intriguing characters. The thing is, it would have been nice to receive a story that went some were… rather than just ending up at a dead end.
Dragon Tears is a story of five people: all attempting to find some way of surviving the deadly harassment of a being with powers who is seeking to make them dead by dawn.
It all begins as delightful Tuesday in the life of cops Harry Lyon...

Dean Koontz - Icebound
Review of Icebound - Dean Koontz by
markyeadon
Advantages: Good thriller that's worth a read
Disadvantages: Not his usual horror story
...I got this book from my local library as i spend quite a bit of time travelling on the train now and need something to do, and books are soooooo expensive when you read them in like two days. So whilst browsing the shelfs in the library i'm looking at the Koontz books and most of them i've read, but not this one so i get it on loan. This book was not what i was expecting and is totally different to what i know and respect Dean koontz for. I like Dean koontz for his horror stories that make Steven Kings look weak, but are not as good as Richard Laymon (if you haven't read any of his, do so you will not be disappointed!!!), however this book is totally different but not in a bad way. It is more of a thriller book than a horror, but still a damn good read and at times difficult to put down.
The basic story is that a widespread drought...

Demon Seed by Dean Koontz
Review of Demon Seed - Dean Koontz by
sterpen83
Advantages: addictive style of writing - you cant put it down!! short book (under 200 pages)
Disadvantages: Fluency of book not so good at times - repetitive phrases throughout, gets annoying!
...Demon Seed is a science fiction novel by Dean Koontz - the story is about a divorced 30 something woman called Susan, who lives in a large mansion alone in the country - due to being abused by her Father and also her ex-husband, she has a state of the art security system installed in the house - voice controlled lights, heating, electrical appliences, security camera's inside and out, electronic metal shutters for all the windows.
Meanwhile, her ex-husband, Dr. Alex Harris, has just completed his project, called Adam 2, which is the first independant thinking computer in the world - the most intelligent computer ever created! What he didn't know was that Adam 2 was capable of feelings, needs, love & lust!
Adam 2 manages to take control of Susan's security system in her house, and watches her, day & night, every day falling deeper...

A review of Sole Survivor by Dean Koontz
Review of Sole Survivor - Dean Koontz by
Jessham
Advantages: A brilliant fast paced read... unputdownable!
Disadvantages: The only disadvantage is that I can't ever read it again for the first time!
...As a lifelong Steven King fan, I love anything Supernatural or spooky and I have not been disappointed with Dean Koontz!
Sole Survivor is one of the best books I have ever read. I actually even shed a tear at the end!
It is a fast read, full of mystery, adventure, hope, loss, human nature and the triumph of the human spirit over adversity.
I suppose if I had to catergorise it, I would call it a Sci Fi, but it is really much more than that. Whilst reading it, I found myself beleiving every word! Dean Koontz has a talent for making even the most outlandish idea perfectly reasonable, logical and beleivable.
I would recommend this book to anyone. In fact, I even recommended it to my mother (a lifelong Mills and Boon romance reader) and she thouroughly enjoyed it, although she did say " Sometimes it was too scary to put down...

Dean Koontz " Watchers"
Review of Watchers - Dean Koontz by
jamesdaviesmv7557
Advantages: Superb read,
Disadvantages: none!!
...I read Watchers quite a while ago bit it still sticks in my mind whenever I think of a decent book. I have read a few Dean Koontz books and I believe this to be one of his better reads.
Some books make the jump to film I do not think they could make watchers into an enjoyable film because its incredibly unbelievable but whilst reading books that doesn't matter because your imagination runs wild. My imagination went mad when I read this book and I couldn't put the book down until I had completed it and when I finished it I felt almost empty its a feeling only finishing a really good book can give you.
The characters in the book consist of Travis Cornell a pretty normal bloke who has become depressed whilst he's walking around the American wilderness trying to recover his lost youth. He stumbles upon a beautiful Golden Retriever who...
