Visit Disneyland Paris on a Budget
Review of Kyriad Disneyland Resort Paris, Marne-la-Vallee by
Lizamabug
Advantages: Low price for area, free shuttle service, adequate rooms
Disadvantages: No children's facilities or pool, inflated food and drink prices
...for.
★ Arrival / Checking In ★
Fortunately, it transpired that the free Disney shuttle bus service DOES run from the train station to the hotel so that was a big relief. Outside the station, Marne la Vallee Chessy, there's a bus stop on the opposite side of the road to the exit where a number 54 Disney shuttle bus collects and drops off Disney customers staying at the four budget hotels: "Dream Castle", "Explorers", "Holiday Inn" and "Kyriad". You do not have to activate your Disney tickets to use this service which is a relief for those not visiting the park on their day of arrival and you don't have to pay or even provide any form of identification. Presumably the reason for this is that there's not much point using these shuttles unless you're on a Disneyland holiday! There isn't much in the area besides...

Top tips for Disneyland Paris
Review of Disneyland, Paris, Paris by
nickjj78
Advantages: Close to UK, 2 great parks with Dinsey magic
Disadvantages: Not as good Disney World, Florida
...Disneyland Paris:
Disneyland Paris opened in 1992 and is the first Disney Park in Europe. I was lucky enough to visit the park in 1992 and have returned several times since. Since you could write a whole book about Disneyland Paris I have just picked out some of my favourite bits and top tips from over the years that I have been there.
Starting off:
The Disneyland resort hotel is divided into two theme parks (The Disneyland Park/Magic Kingdom) and the New Disney Studios which opened last year
The resort features six hotels: The Disneyland Paris Hotel, Hotel New York, Newport Bay Club, Sequoia Lodge, hotel Cheyenne and Hotel Santa Fe and the Camp Davy Crocket Camp site.
The hotels cater for a range of budgets from the Santa Fe (from £105 per adult for 3 nights inducing park pass, accommodation and breakfast) up...

Holiday Inn Disneyland Paris *Essential info*
Review of Holiday Inn Disneyland Resort, Marne-la-Vallee by
icon9
Advantages: Comfortable and Reasonably priced
Disadvantages: Not ideal if you want to stay out past midnight
...I stayed at the Holiday Inn with my girlfriend on a recent trip to Disneyland Paris, here's what we thought...
Booking and check-in was easy with no problems but getting the card to work in the door was our first hurdle which we eventually managed to overcome, it's a quick swipe from top to bottom, take the card out and push the handle when you hear a click so I hope that helps you get in!
Next the free shuttle bus which visits all the hotels outside the main complex is yellow and not pink (which goes to the Disney hotels within the complex) as a lot of travel guides state. When you come out of Marne-le-vallee station if Disneyland parks are in front of you go left towards Disney village and left round the side of the station to find the bus terminal, you want the first stop on the right hand side of the road (poorly signposted...

Disneyland Paris - One family's experience
Review of Disneyland, Paris, Paris by
TheSimpsons72
Advantages: We don't have to go again
Disadvantages: No-one told us how rubbish it would be
...We (myself, partner and 2 girls aged 3 and 5) have just come back from Disneyland Paris and to put it simply, we will NOT be returning!
We camped about 20 mins away in a beautiful, friendly campsite (La Soleil at Crecy-La-Chapelle) and thoroughly enjoyed all of that part of our holiday.
Disney, however was a completely different story. Before going I wanted to know roughly what we might be spending and found the Disney website of little use unless we wanted one of the various packages offered in several months time.
On entry to the car park you are charged €8 for the priviledge of parking your car! It's then a long walk (admittedly assisted by airport style moving walkways) and another bit of a trek to the entrance itself, where we queued for 30 mins to buy our tickets.
We had decided on a 3 day pass. These cost €134 per adult...

Great Fun For The Kids!
Review of The Explorers Hotel Disneyland, Marne-la-Vallee by
flizzypop
Advantages: Swimming pool, complimentary breakfast, fun pirate decor, free bus.
Disadvantages: Very busy at breakfast and on bus.
...My partner and I stayed at the Thomas Cook Explorers hotel for two nights at the beginning of this month. I won a trip to Disneyland Paris in a competition held by Thomas Cook so in this review I regret I am unable to comment on prices, however I intend to give my opinion of all aspects of our stay at the hotel.
Upon arriving at Marne la Vallee station on the Eurostar, we found several bus stops outside for the various hotels surrounding Disney. We spent a good 10 minutes trying to locate the right bus stop for the free shuttle bus to the Explorers hotel, but the station staff were very helpful. The bus stop is in fact the first bus stop you come to outside the station on the OTHER SIDE of the road, and it does not have a bus shelter like the others. The bus is number 53 and it's pink so it's easy to spot, and it takes you to all...

And we all lived happily ever after
Review of Disneyland, Paris, Paris by
mrpaella
Advantages: An unique experience
Disadvantages: Long queuing times, expensive, physically tiring
...WRITTEN December 2002
INTRODUCTION
My wife and I visited Disneyland Paris in October. My last op dealt with the expensive Disneyland Hotel. This op deals with the Walt Disney Studios, Disney Village and Disneyland itself.
Some of the Disneyland Ciao ops I have read have gone into great detail about the rides etc. I want this op to be an overview of Disneyland rather than a guidebook of the theme park.
DISNEYLAND 1977
During the mid 1970s there was a great programme shown on Sunday evenings. It was called ‘The Wonderful World of Disney’ and it made great viewing. I suppose it was every child’s ambition to visit Disneyland.
My parents took me aged 15 to America in 1977. The holiday was a Greyhound coach tour was a 3-week journey from Los Angeles to New York. This trip was pretty gruelling.
In LA we...

Disneyland Paris fun for all the family
Review of Disneyland Paris by

spring playa la arena
Review of Spring Playa La Arena, Tenerife by
malchard
Advantages: accommodation, food, views, quiet and relaxing & no time share touts around
Disadvantages: hilly location, evening entertainment, very few bars in the immediate locality
...very inviting and you reflect once more that an awful lot of time and thought has gone into the design of this complex. Moving on, the gardens descend down towards the sea and as you follow the winding path (lifts are also available) you come across the most amazing waterfall which would not be out of place in Disneyland, it is that special. A security gate then lets you out onto the road adjacent to the beach and this keeps the whole area safe and secure so that it can only be enjoyed by guests staying at the hotel. Standing outside you will always notice that resort visitors passing by often look in amazement at what they are missing by not staying at this facility and you might then feel rather smug that you made such a good choice.
Now sun beds are always a consideration at holiday hotels, however the need to be Germanic and lay down...

Disney quite do it for me...
Review of Disneyland, Paris, Paris by
iainc
Advantages: It's a trip to Disney
Disadvantages: Dirty, smelly and unkempt
...UPDATED - September 2007
----------------------------------------
Please note that this review constitutes the opinion of the reviewer. Disagreeing with this opinion does not make the review invalid or unhelpful).
We visited again this summer to take our 9 month old daughter for a bit of Disney Magic. Sadly not much had improved since our last visit. A top tip would be don't visit on August Bank Holiday - it was very busy (French holiday as well). It remains however, that Disneyland Paris is not as well managed, looked after or as well run as Florida. Smoking is still permitted just about everywhere (a useful phrase for queues is "pardon monsieur / madame, mais il est ecrit dans la signe, defense de fumer, c'est pas gentil").
Queuing is very badly organised with lots of cutting in. Even the Character Dinner suffered from...

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DISNEYLAND
Review of Disneyland, Paris, Paris by
PerfectlyPink
Advantages: Magical, everything is perfect
Disadvantages: The staff (BORING!)
...Last week, I was lucky enough to go Disneyland in Paris for three days. I’d been before, a couple of years ago when I’d finished my GCSE’s but this was for my 18th birthday and the new Disney Studios had just opened too. I was VERY excited…I absolutely adore Disney!
My family and me flew from Heathrow on a British Midland flight to Paris. The simplest way to get to Disneyland is actually by Eurostar from Waterloo as this takes you directly to the park. However, there is a regular shuttle bus from Paris airport that comes every now and again. If you plan to fly to Paris, it’s well worth contacting Disney and getting a shuttle bus timetable sent to you…we didn’t know how long we had to wait for a bus as there was no timetable available so we got a taxi which worked out to just a few Euros more...
