Paris in Summer
Review of Paris in general by Ka22a

Advantages: warm in summer, romantic, architecture, street cafes
Disadvantages: street entertainers wanting money for nothing, Hotel Favart

...My boyfriend and I travelled by Eurostar to Paris last summer and I can truly say it was the most wonderful holiday we have ever experienced. Disneyland Paris was the first stop and it is far more attractive than its American counterparts. We had to take the metro to Paris and carrying our luggage up four flights of escalators was a struggle, but it was worth it. Our first hotel was a great disappointment - Hotel Favart. It was a total dump and we were only allowed to leave and cancel our reservation after I flooded the lobby with tears. A very fast taxi journey took us to Hotel California on Rue de Berri, just of the Champs Elyesse. I will never forget turning the corner at the Place De la Concorde and seeing the Arc de Triomphe for the first time. Forget the Eiffel - Paris is about architecture and the Arc is incredible. I could go... Read review

Eurodisney
Review of General: France by johnt

Advantages: good value, lots to see in a weekend
Disadvantages: very busy routine for young kids

...We went to Disneyland a couple of years ago, the kids had been nagging us into going for some time. Going as part of a weekend coach package allowed us to see the park and do some sightseeing in Paris in a weekend. This worked out a lot cheaper than staying in the park. The first day, Friday was largely spent travelling. 7am depart got to the hotel on the outskirts of Paris at 5pm. That evening the coach left for an evening in Paris, couple of hours to walk around / get something to eat then on for a floodlit trip down the river Siene. Up for an 8am start on Saturday for a full day in the park 9am - 11pm. The park itself is very clean and has a good range of rides and attractions yet the food was poor and the queues often very long. All the staff there seemed to be trying to sell you something, gift, souvenirs, drinks and snacks... Read review

Ibis Paris Roissey Charles de Gaulle Paris
Review of Ibis Paris Charles de Gaulle Paris Nord 2, Roissy-en-France by jdeacon_162

Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: High demand

...for families planing on taking a day trip to Disneyland Paris. Although perhaps it isnt suitable for those wishing to travel there everyday (or those without a car) as the journey isnt really desirable, its perfect for those who just want a day trip and the freedom to visit other tourist atractions. As well as this, although it may appear cheaper than the Disney hotels, you can get a Disney hotel and park admission package which is a lot cheaper than staying in Paris and paying to get in the park everyday. This hotel has a reasonably priced restaurant as well as a separate bar. This is good as there arent many amenities in the area surrounding the hotel. However there is a room service facility operated by the friendly staff, but bear in mind this isn't 24 hour service. The rooms are modern and well furnished. As well as being able to choose... A Great Place to Visit
Review of Paris in general by Toria

Advantages: Beautiful, not too far to travel, a wide chioce of travel options
Disadvantages: Weather.

...I went to Paris a couple of years ago and can highly recommend it. We went for a long weekend travelling by Euro. The journey was quick and comfortable. Paris is a fantastic place to visit, with trips to all the 'tourist' spots a must such as the Eiffel Tower, A list, however, is essential as there is so much to see, usually with so little time! It is easy to navigate around Paris, the Metro is easy to understand and use and it is also cheap. We even managed to fit in a trip to Disneyland, travelling via the Metro. If it is planned well, Paris is an excellent choice for a long weekend.... Read review

Paris in a afternoon
Review of General: France by 96mantes

Advantages: Beautiful city, lots to see and do
Disadvantages: Quite tiring to walk around all afternoon!

...Staying at the Hotel Kyriad in Disneyland I decided to make an afternoons excursion into Paris. Getting into the city centre and indeed navigating my way around it was very easy thanks to the Paris Visite card (12 euros) which gives you unlimited travel around the cities underground system. I guess the Paris Visite card is the equivalent of London’s all day travelcard. The first place I visited was Notre Dame, which although I didn’t stay for long at was a truly beautiful and deeply moving cathedral. Its free to get in, though a donation is asked for. Next up for me was the Musee d’Orsay, a former station which now plays home to all the big names of impressionism such as Monet, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Seurat etc. Aside from the quality of the paintings the unique layout of the gallery creates a lovely ambience, and its... Paris in the Spring
Review of Paris in general by Jose

Advantages: A safe and architecturally beautiful city within easy reach of the UK. Strong exchange means prices are reasonable. Easy to get round - even if you get lost.
Disadvantages: Gets very crowded particularly in holiday season.

...We passed through Paris at Easter on our way to central France and spent a couple of days there, very reasonably. We all felt that Disneyland was totally overated and were very disappointed with the queues for the Eiffel Tower. Unfortunately the queues were about 2.5 - 3 hours long and we really hadn't got enough time to wait. We had parked on the outskirts of Paris (right on the edge of the Peripherique) and it cost us about £4 - £5 for about 6hours which is excellent compared to prices in the UK. We then caught the Metro to the Eiffel Tower, which was well sign posted and at least the trains and tunnels are clean. You will hear some of the best music ever in the underground tunnels of the Metro. Unfortunately (!) the trains are so prompt over there that we kept missing bits of the music - but the accoustics were superb - well worth... Read review

Disney Hotel Cheyenne, Wild Wild West!
Review of Hotel Cheyenne, Disneyland Paris, Paris by iambigbrother2

Advantages: Clean Facilities, Fun settin
Disadvantages: Poor Breakfast Selection

...I went on a group visit to Business Live at Disneyland Paris at the beginning of March. Our accomodation was the Disney Hotel Cheyenne. The hotel is not your standard 1 building hotel, it is a hotel spread across a wide area - in this case Wild West themed buildings like the Sherrif hut, Bar etc etc. Our group was allocated block 16 - a nicely situated one near the bus stop. I was with 2 of my friends in which the bedrooms are made up of one bunk bed and one double bed - ideal for 2 kids 2 adults. The beds are nice and comfortable and ideal for collapsing onto after a day around the park. The room is very basic. It has a cowboy boot lamp and various sherrif stars around the room. They don't supply kettles and tea for morning use (that could just be that we were students - I'm not sure if there is meant to be one there), they don... Read review

DisneyLand Paris in a nutshell
Review of Disneyland Paris by andyjarvis

Advantages: Great for Kids, Close to home
Disadvantages: Service with a frown

...with no queuing whatsoever.!! Contact info and bookings ------------------------------------- You can book an entire holiday at Disneyland Paris (hotels included), through the Disneyland website. Prices vary according to how you travel and what type of accommodation you decide on. All in all this is truely an enchanting place unfortunately with french service which is not reknowned like the Americans, However I would certainly recommend you visit at least once in your life and award this park a grand 7/10 - for the budget concious stick to Alton Towers. Not as pretty or well maintained but less of a trek and less stressfull!!... Read review

Disneyland Paris Hotel: Luxury and class
Review of Disneyland Hotel, Paris by nickjj78

Advantages: Luxurious hotel, great facilities
Disadvantages: Very pink and expensive!

...Disneyland Paris Hotel I must admit that the (VERY!!!!) pink Disneyland Paris Hotel was not my first choice when visiting Disneyland Paris recently as it did look a bit girlie for me! I have been to DP a few times before and stayed at the Hotel new York which I have always thought was a great hotel. however, in the spirit of compromise I agreed to stay at the Disneyland Paris Hotel! The hotel appears to me to be themed on a grand Victorian Floridian style hotel and is very grand. Having stayed at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in Walt Disney World which this hotel is based on it is neither as large nor grand but more whimsical and fits in very well in Disneyland Paris. The rooms: The rooms are very elegantly decorated in pale pastel colours and our room featured a massive double bed but I know that rooms for four people... Read review

Disneyland Paris fun for all the family
Review of Disneyland Paris by nickjj78

Advantages: Great close alternative to US theme parks
Disadvantages: Not as 'Disney' as US counterparts, ot cheap!

...Disneyland Paris opened in 1992 and was the first Disney Park in Europe. I was lucky enough to visit the park in 1992 and have returned several times since. Since you could write a whole book about Disneyland Paris I have just picked out some of my favourite bits and top tips from over the years that I have been there. The Disneyland resort hotel is divided into two theme parks (the Disneyland Park/Magic Kingdom and the New Disney Studios, which opened last year). The resort features six hotels: The Disneyland Paris Hotel, Hotel New York, Newport Bay Club, Sequoia Lodge, Hotel Cheyenne, and Hotel Santa Fe and the Camp Davey Crockett Campsite. The hotels cater to a range of budgets, from the Santa Fe (from £105 per adult for three nights, including park pass, accommodation, and breakfast) up to the Disneyland Paris Hotel (from £219...
