The Dot Matrix
Review of Epson LQ 300+ by
the_man_from_del_monte
Advantages: Carbon copies
Disadvantages: Only good for text printing
...I was given this printer by a friend who no longer wanted it. My first question was "is it broken". No was the answer. After a short discussion about why he didn't want it, I accepted it with gratitude. I didn't know what I was going to use it for as I already had a printer but who turns away free stuff?
You may be wondering what a dot matrix printer is. A dot matrix printer is a printer that you may have seen from the 80's, it works by striking characters onto the paper. The paper used is the type that has holes running up each side. The holes are used to feed the paper into the printer. Dot matrix printers have the perception of being loud, in my expirence they are not that loud, although they are louder than a normal laser or ink jet printer. The prints from a dot matrix printer are of poor quality, so printing photo's is pretty...

Very Good Basic Dot Matrix Printer
Review of OKI Microline 321 by
MartinImber
Advantages: Quick reliable dot matrix printer
Disadvantages: Just remember it is a dot matrix
...I have used these printers on and off for over 12 years. They are generally reliable and good for a 9 pin dot matrix.
Some early ones had problems with weak drive gears, but later ones are fine. I had to go through about 50 of these looking for dodgy gears and replacing them!!!!!
They support both IBM and EPSON control codes and have an easy to use menu which prints as it goes.
They are available with both Centronics and RS232 sockets.
Extras include various tractor feed modules.
For business use with pre printed stationary they are excellent and are my favourite DMP.
Scoring
Picture Quality, well it is a dot matrix hence poor. it is also mono.
In general OKI printers are very good, we have a colour laser at work which is very good and I will review it and the bigger version we get our customers to buy.
My only...

Did you realise spots and dots rhyme?
Review of T-Zone Clear Up Spot Dots by
Olgita2
Advantages: They work, they also stop you picking on the spot
Disadvantages: £4.99 for 20 dots
...I am not a big fan of T-zone products. Most of the time they seem rather ineffective and stink.
BUT THESE DOTS ARE A HIDDEN GEM.
***Where do u get them and how much are they?***
The only place where I could get them was Boots. Although superdrug stocks other t-zone products, I could never find spot dots there.
At some point during winter I could not find them anywhere at all.
They are £4.99 per pack. The pack contains two individually wrapped strips, each containing 10 dots. That makes it around 50p a dot
I strongly recommend looking out for special offers in boots. T-zone products go on 2 for £5. Which makes it 25p a dot. And than you grab as many dots as u can. The most common situation however is there are no dots left :(
***What are the dots like ***
They look like transparent round pieces of sellotape, around...

DOT TK, Whats a DOT TK?
Review of dot.tk by
Adam2005
Advantages: They are free and can give your webpage a professional look
Disadvantages: If you dont receive 25 visitors in 90 days your .tk can be claimed by someone else
...If you have heard people talking about .tk or read anything about them on the internet then you are probably curious as to what it is for. Because there are different endings for each country, E.g. .fr is for France, .de is for Germany, .co.uk is for the uk, but what could .tk stand for. Turkey perhaps, nope, it stands for Tokelau.
Tokelau is made up of 3 small atolls located in the south pacific and their total area is 10 sq km, with their highest point being just 5m above sea level. There is a population for all 3 atolls of just 1,405 people.
In September 2003 a group of people from the Dot TK team went to all three atolls to present what the Internet can mean for such a small country. This information was considered carefully, and just recently it was decided that is would be worth giving the internet to the three atolls...

Is this the end of the Matrix - I don't think so!
Review of The Matrix - The Ultimate Matrix Collection (Box Set) by
Spongebob2
Advantages: Can be watched by young and old, everyone will get something from this trilogy
Disadvantages: The ensuing arguments as you discuss your theories with others
...A must for all Matrix die-hards, the ULTIMATE MATRIX COLLECTION has landed.
I know you all dashed out, as I did, and bought the films individually, but here is a set to die for. What do you get for your money, and why is it worth ditching your old discs and buying the new ones – well in short you get 10 DVD’s, with over 35 hours including bonus features of over 100 new featurettes, interviews and commentaries which have never been aired.
You get a carboard sleeve, inside the sleeve you find 5 DVD covers as follows:
The Matrix – two discs.
The Matrix Reloaded – two discs
The Matrix Revolutions – two discs
The Matrix Experience - three discs
Animatrix – 1 disc
Booket – listing scenes to help you find your way around the discs and an introduction from the Wachowski brothers which basically asks the curious to “make up...

The ultimate Matrix experience in full glory
Review of The Matrix - The Ultimate Matrix Collection (Box Set) by
Aquillyne
Advantages: The Animatrix is included, 6 special-features DVDs, beautiful casing
Disadvantages: DVD cases layout slightly fiddly, no title on outside of box
...The culmination of the entire Matrix cinematic saga, The Matrix trilogy is here presented in full glory across a 10 DVD box-set. The set includes everything previously released as well as new special features dealing with the entire history of The Matrix, from conception to realisation, with extensive making-of featurettes. Also included is The Animatrix in its entirety, a fantastic companion to the original theatrical trilogy. Packaged in holographic Matrix code, this is the ultimate Matrix experience.
Included inside the box are 5 DVD cases of varying size. These cases are specially designed, being made of card smothered in code, art, and scene captures, and clear plastic to hold the DVDs so that you can still see through to the artwork behind. The 5 DVD cases are: "The Matrix", "The Matrix Reloaded", "The Matrix Revolutions", "The...

Need a domain name? Dot.tk is the name!
Review of dot.tk by
DBZKing
Advantages: free domain names | loads of features
Disadvantages: could loose free domain name after 90 days | only allowd 3 free domains per account
...This is a review on the website www.tk or www.dot.tk to some. This site gives you loads of stuff that is useful for your website, and that thing is a Domain Name. You can sign up free for 3 free Domain Names. There are some disadvantages to this website also, but I will discuss more about that later down in the review.
This website allows you to get free domain names, that are reasonable, some of them you will need to pay for, so if they don’t allow you to get it as a free domain, and then change the title a bit, then you will have your domain name.
But before you can do all that, you will need to register for the website. Which is fast and easy, and you will like what will happen when you get your first Domain name, you will be pleasantly surprised. Dot.tk puts your website on numerous search engines under the keywords you put...

Spot Dots
Review of T-Zone Clear Up Spot Dots by
SuperFlorence
Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: Not very effective
...Every so often i get really greasy and erupt in spots and make them worse by covering them with products and inevitably spreading germs. I bought these Spot Dots to see what they would do. There are quite expensive at about £5 per packet, and you can only use the individual spots once.
They look like little round circles of cellotape that you stick on top of your spots- its all fairly straight forward, and they are very easy to use. It depends how spotty you are I suppose, if you have one or two spots that are nicely spaced apart it will be easy to place the dots over your spots as they are the right size. That was what I was looking for, but if you have acne or other skin problems it may be harder to know where to place the dots.
Also its strange that they are see through as you can tell they are there- it looks like you have...

The matrix
Review of The Matrix/Matrix Reloaded/Matrix Revolutions (Box Set) by
tinac37
Advantages: great acting, great soundtrack
Disadvantages: 3 is two to many
...I have to admit The Matrix is not really my kind of film, this was a present I bought for my hubby last year and he loves it.
I paid £29.99 from play.com and it was worth every penny. You can get it much cheaper on ebay now but hey it's a year on.
I'm not a big sci fi fan but I don't mind The Matrix, I like the sound track, I like Laurence Fishburne, and I like agent Smith, but for me the story is a little far fetched. Any way, enough of my likes and dislikes on with the review.
The acting is brilliant in these films, all the characters are strong and the actors play them perfectly. Keanu shaved his head, vomited and had sex scenes. Fishburne, is shot at, beaten up, happy, sad and dumfounded. Everything is done perfectly.
This is the 3 DVD Matrix box set. This means you get The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix...

Knock, Knock! The Matrix has you...
Review of The Matrix/Matrix Revisited (Box Set) by
clownfoot
Advantages: Merges action and intelligence seemlessly. Visually stunning. Great sci-fi concept!
Disadvantages: None, Nada, Nicto. The best film ever made has no faults...
...THE MATRIX
1999 was going to be a huge year for science-fiction. A movie event was on the horizon that was going to knock the socks off audiences, define a new era for cinema goers and create a new breed of movie nerd. Rather surprisingly that movie didn't turn out to be the bearded wonders return to the Star Wars franchise with the ill-conceived CGI overload of The Phantom Menace. A month beforehand, slipping under the whole movie industries radar, a curious cyber-thriller called The Matrix strolled into Lucas' manor, took a dump in his cereal and emphatically scrawled "Beat That Beardy" on the draft script of Attack of the Clones. The dawn of the first movie for the 21st Century had arrived in some style…
So, what is the Matrix? Following one of the most successful advertising campaigns of recent memory, I bet George Lucas...
