Nintendo DS - Great gaming fun!
Review of Nintendo DS by
wellybooty
Advantages: Backlight screen - Dual screen - Good price - Sterio sound
Disadvantages: limited number of launch titles
...As an avid (if somewhat aging and non-typical) gamer (i.e. female and over 30) I couldn't wait to get my hands on the new Nintendo DS. I got one in December 2004 shipped over to the UK from the USA 2 months before it was available in the UK and bought Mario 64 for the DS at the same time.
I can't get enough of platform games and have always loved Mario type games so Mario 64 for the DS was a logical choice for me and it kept me entertained for the full month before I finally admitted defeat at 98% of the game completed….
The DS itself is very easy to use and the touch screen on the bottom is brilliant fun. I've since bought a padded case for it although due to the way it folds using a clam-shell type design, the screens are kept relatively safe.
Some of the uses for the touch screen are truly innovative and rather than just...

Ds and Ds Lite
Review of Nintendo DS by
hiamben
Advantages: Brighter screens
Disadvantages: Lower battery
...game, which can be annoying when playing at say, sundown when it starts out bright and then gets dark. Thankfully most games have a quick save feature. The dual screens are quite an innovative approach at gaming and really give the player a better experience.
Battery Life- 10/10
The battery for a the DS Lite lasts almost twice as long as DS under some circumstances, but gets less battery life than DS on its highest brightness level. It is really a treat to be able to play for elongated periods of time without having to recharge your battery. If say you forget to charge your battery one night, you won't have any danger of running out of power the next day when you play. The DS will last you longer than any other portable system. In the case of the DS Lite, its battery can go even longer on the lower brightness settings, and since you...

Nintendo DS Lite - Hours of entertainment
Review of Nintendo DS Lite by
rose1986
Advantages: Great quality, sleek design, fantastic features
Disadvantages: None
...Recently, my younger Sister purchased a Nintendo DS Lite for herself and she loves it. There are so many games out there so there is something for everyone so you'll never get bored with your purchase. I think the reason she likes it so much as she has the "pink" version which is nice and girlie. It is also a nice size and very light, which can fit into her bag when travelling etc.
What is a Nintendo DS Lite?
A Nintendo DS Lite is similar to the Nintendo DS which was released in 2004. However, the original Nintendo DS was a lot heavier and bulkier and didn't have as many function.
The Nintendo DS Lite was released in 2006 and has been extremely popular since. In fact, they think the Nintendo DS Lite will be a sell out this Christmas. The Nintendo DS Lite is a lot lighter than the previous Nintendo DS and much sleeker. However...

Nintendogs: A great action-packed DS game!
Review of Nintendogs DS - Labrador and Friends by
ollienewth
Advantages: Great graphics, great dogs, great features!
Disadvantages: Some features to be used only 3 times a day.
...to improve for the competitions! You can also get trophies, and earn 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize!
--- Walks ---
Every half an hour you can take your dog for a walk around the area. You can guide your dog where you want him to go, guide him to presents, find other dogs, go to the park and avoid litter! One of the sick things, though, is the way they poo and you have to pick it up. Original, but prehaps not for the best in this case!
--- Live Time ---
The time in the game relates to the time you have set the DS to be. So for instance, even if you turn off the DS and turn it back on, you still can't go into competitions more that 3 times a day. I think this is a great idea because it shows the way that the dogs are 'real' and are always waiting for you to come back to play and train!
--- Shop ---
You have the ability to go to the shop to buy...

Nintendo DS rocks my wok!
Review of Nintendo DS by
china_wolf
Advantages: Dual screen gaming madness with 3D graphics, advanced audio and high speed gaming!
Disadvantages: Only a few, read review!
...the start buttons are above the YBXA buttons and the power button is above the cursor keys on the left hand side. Both screens have backlight that can only be switched off in the operating system of the DS. At the back of the device is the stylus slot for a 2.5" plastic grey stylus, the 2 shoulder buttons L and R, the Nintendo DS game slot and the power charger port which incidentally uses the same charger as the Gameboy Advance SP. At the front of the device is the volume slider, the Gameboy Advance game slot and a earphone/microphone port for a headset. At the bottom is a cover that hide the battery compartment. Games have to be clicked into the DS slot like with SD cards whilst GBA games can be slotted in normally.
At first sight it wasn't that pretty to me to be honest. It feels like a large GBA SP and is rather too plasticky for my liking...

Nintendo DS - Great fun!
Review of Nintendo DS by
IzzyS
Advantages: Great range of innovative games, good size and weight, good battery life
Disadvantages: None
...I bought a Nintendo DS last year after having bought a PSP earlier in the year and deciding that I thought I might play Nintendos latest portable console more than the PSP (which I'd slightly gone off by that point). As it happens, I was right and I much prefer the DS to the PSP.
I've come to the conclusion that console and games wise, Nintendo and Sony are better for different things, Sony for the technology and multimedia options behind their consoles while Nintendo are better for more original games (the ideas behind the games like Brain Training and so on) and their better at kids games too, I would say, whereas Sony have a better range of shooter and other more adult games. This is just my opinion based on what I've seen from the PS2 & PSP and the games available for these and the NES, GBA & DS, all of which I've had at some...

THE NINTENDO DS....A CONSOLE FOR ALL AGES
Review of Nintendo DS Lite by
nim3
Advantages: GREAT GAMES...TOUCH SCREEN...SMALL SIZE
Disadvantages: NONE
...I brought the Nintendo ds lite over a year ago now, I brought the lite instead of the original simply because it looked better and weighed better. Usually the ds is aimed mainly at children, but as I am no child I find that it caters for my gaming needs very well. This review will highlight the highs and lows (of which there aren't many) of the Nintendo ds, and why I would recommend it to potential buyers either for themselves, or their children.
The Nintendo ds lite is entertainment galore. It boasts numerous features that have enabled it to compete with Sony's psp. Firstly the size of the ds gives it a huge advantage, as you can carry it around with you practically anywhere, all you need is a carry case which is readily available in stores or on eBay (where I got mine from). You can literally put the | | |
