Airport Taxi Service
Review of Dublin (DUB) by livewire

Advantages: Future journey times should be much less than normal and with less pressure, passengers should be able to hold onto that relaxed Irish atmosphere for longer.
Disadvantages: With the recent introduction of additional Taxi licences, The quality and efficency of Taxis could suffer.

...In recent times, ie. in the last three months, The Irish government has introduced an excellent initiative, that is, with the provision of Taxis within the greater Dublin area, In a recent trip to Dublin's only commercial Airport, I found that it was much easier to get Taxi transport both to and from the Airport, Some 2,000 more licences have been issued for Taxis recently and the benefit, for most travellers seems to be very aparent. Journey time from Dublin City centre to the Airport has been reletively steady, But the wait for a Taxi has been dramaticaly cut, from upto 1.5 Hours to 20 to 40 minutes. Dublin city has also introduced a number of so called " Quality, Bus corridors, where City busses have an entire lane to themselves, however, these corridores are also accessible by Taxis, which also helps cut exhaustive journey times... Nightmare
Review of Dublin (DUB) by Maribor

Advantages: It has planes
Disadvantages: Samll, packed, hot

...There is only one word which should be attched to Dublin airport- AVOID!!!. Living in Ireland I have travelled out of Dublin airport many times but I have very little positive things to say abou the airport. The first nightmare is parking, if you are thinking of bringing your car to the airport, avoid it. Beg borrow steal someway of getting leaft at the airport unless you fancy parking in the next county. The next problem is trying to get checked in. the problem with Dublin is that it was built in the age of little foreign transport and therefore there is not space to expnd. THey are currwently building a new terminal to alleviate the problem but it will not be on stream for a while. The problkem is that there are too many checkin desks in too small a spaceand therefore when you think you are in the queue for Birmingham you... Read review

airport victim of ireland boom
Review of Dublin (DUB) by s.faherty

Advantages: near the city
Disadvantages: poor connection with mainline rail services

...Having been to and from dublin airport for the last 15 years it has become the vctim of ireland economic boom. Thr airport was coping well until the arrival of the budget airlines i.e Ryanair. The boom in traffic has been huge and it shouldn't come to a surprise that it now stuggles to cope, at least they are trying to expand the airport, with the constuction of new departure gates mainly for use for the more expensive airlines. If you are using ryanair you get what you pay for and the departure gates they use are also new but less plush. The main gripe i have with the airport is the connections with the mainline rail services, which is an expensive bus journey (£3.50 the last time i used it)and with the traffic you may miss your connections. My advice for anyone going to Heuston station is give yourself 3 hours to get there from... Read review

Head here for da craic
Review of Dublin (Ireland) by sheffwed

Advantages: the craic is always flowing
Disadvantages: not the warmest of places but other things make up for that

...I spent the last 12 months working in Co.Dublin and probably had the best year of my life. I'm only 20 and it was the first time I have been away from home for this length of time and was made to feel like part of very big family straight away. I was working in the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf links which is in between the city centre and the airport and is a fantastic location for a golf weekend or a short trip to Dublin. With airlines such as Ryanair offering cheaper and cheaper air fares from a number of U.K. airports Dublin and Ireland seems to be the place to go for a short break. I would strongly recommend not only the Portmarnock Hotel(see my op, for further details) but Dublin in general. There are a wide range of things to do in Dublin and i'm sure there is something for everyone, whether in be a stag party with the lads (Temple... Read review

Aer Lingus - getting there...
Review of Aer Lingus - EIN by Ardri

Advantages: Good administration, competent staff, good ground handling and a good fleet.
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest option.

...announcements were informative and in one instance left passengers prepared for turbulance that might otherwise cause anxiety. Dublin airport is a very pleasant, modern airport on a very manageable scale which is no hardship to transit through.... Read review

Ground breaking service from Air Coach
Review of Aircoach Airport Transfer by KELLYLOUJ

Advantages: Reliable, cheap, comfortable service
Disadvantages: None

...Whenever I go away I always like to know how I will be getting to my final destination and my recent trip to Ireland was no different. I had been to Dublin a few times before so I knew that there was a good service to transfer me from the airport to my accommodation, before I went I looked up the name of the company on the Dublin Airport website it was a company called Aircoach and here is my review on their service. Aircoach operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week except for Christmas where there is a change in service. Operating between Dublin Airport and Dublin City with plenty of stops which makes it ideal for tourists, commuters and business people looking for a high quality, economical and reliable service. *~*Purchasing Tickets*~* Tickets can be purchased online, however this facility was not available at the time of my trip so I... A Top Irish Day too you
Review of Dublin (Ireland) by XTHINKERAL

Advantages: The people! The Guinness and the beautiful city.
Disadvantages: May be ruined by too many rude tourists

...I was last in Dublin in December just before Chirstmas. I hadn't been to Dublin for a few years until then. So When I got there I was surprised and wowed by how much it had changed and by how much it had stayed the same! It seems Dublin has only got better, its the best City in the world to shop outside New York. The people are the most freindly bunch of people in the world. And the cold fresh sea air that blows in from the irish sea is just perfect for making you feel alive. Dublin isn't expensive too get too either. I flew Air Lingus from London city airport for £35 return! And I went away too Dublin for 4 days. So what too do if your not into shopping? Best thing in Dublin is the Nigtlife! Go out with a friend or two and you will meet the most amazing people as you stagger from irish pub too irish pub, forget the clubs... Read review

Cheap and cheerful in Dublin
Review of stayDublin Apartments, Dublin by Kathdj

Advantages: Clean and warm. Very convenient location. Good value
Disadvantages: A bit basic. Sofa bed in lounge.

...Dublin accommodations tends to be of the very basic hostel type or quite expensive. We needed to accommodate 3 people for a few days in January but would have had to book a double and single hotel room - pricey!! However, a quick search on laterooms.com found us a great alternative. A one bedroomed appartment with a sofa bed in the lounge at a great price of only 65 Euro per night - between 3 - that's cheaper than a hostel. Appartment was basic but lovely and warm, the beds were comfy, the bedlinen and towels fresh and clean. Plenty of space and kitchen equipped with the necessities - although a microwave might be useful if you did want to self-cater. These appartments are located a couple of minutes walk from Temple Bar, across the Liffey. Only a short walk from O'Connell Street where you can catch a bus to the airport... Read review

City of Green
Review of Dublin (Ireland) by hakkved

Advantages: Lots to do, lots of culture.
Disadvantages: None

...I recently survived my first aeroplane flight would you believe, and luckily it was just a short hop to Dublin for a few days. I couldn’t help but watch the ever-changing wing shape with intensity throughout the flight. After a quick pop above the clouds we touched down at Dublin International Airport. First impression of the city, lying in the sweep of Dublin Bay, was the wide River Liffey dividing it into a north and south half. It struck me how architecturally minded Dublin is with its huge Georgian-style buildings from the 18th and 19th Century – all very elegant. Brightly painted front doors are also an institution over there with the majority of the streets sporting a full spectrum of door colours. The quickest and best way to be introduced to the city was to have a hurl on the open-top city bus tour. Thirteen... Read review

Best value hotel in Dublin
Review of Bewley´s Hotel Newlands Cross, Dublin by kebabking

Advantages: Nice Price, Good Quality
Disadvantages: Out of town

...on the junction between the main ring motorway around Dublin & the Naas Road (Newlands Cross, hence the name funny enough hehe), it is a perfect base if you are hiring a car from Dublin airport & wish to have a look around the City or some of the more historical sights a few miles further out. It is extremely easy to find, although you will have to pay a small toll on the motorway from the airport for a new part of the road (one way only if I recall). Rooms are pegged at 79Euros & that is a great price for a hotel as clean & luxurious at the price. It has a Holiday Inn feel about it at a Travel Inn price, which easily off-sets the extra expense you may have to pay to taxi it into Central Dublin. The bar serves superb Guinness (doesn't EVERY establishment in Ireland?) & the restaurant is top quality, although I've only eaten there once... Read review
