Reviews of dublin hotel
Holiday Inn at Dublin Aiport, Dublin
Review of Holiday Inn Dublin Airport, Dublin by
mabi
Advantages: good location
Disadvantages: none
...an excellent hotel very close to the airport. ideal for late arrivals or early departures.
the hotel caters for people's needs well, including disposable razors and toiletries if you forget them or if luggage has been lost somewhere- it does happen.
the food and drink service is excellent and the staff aim to cater for your dietary needs as well.
it is family friendly and the rooms are spacious and have double glazing.
there is a courtesy bus from/to the airport, you just need to use the complimentary phone in arrivals hall or hotel reception and they will come and pick up from outside the arrivals hall.
They also have smoking rooms to avail as you wish. A smloking area outside as well....

mount herbert hotel, Ballsbridge Dublin 4
Review of Mount Herbert Hotel, Dublin by
mabi
Advantages: excellent service
Disadvantages: none
...This is an excellent hotel in the Ballsbridge area of Dublin, it is near the Lansdowne DART station about 500 m but you do not hear it from the hotel.
It is also around the corner from Lansdowne Rd Stadium so ideal when concerts and sport are played there next year.
The service in the hotel is excellent from the moment you walk in the door to the time you leave after you check out.
The rooms are in excellent condition clean, they have ensuite facilities.
The breakfast provided is a buffet irish breakfast so handy if you want to have a late lunch and a shealthy breakfast. Cereals, soda bread and fruit are also available. Nothing is too much for the staff here.
The hotel bar has a balcony area and is excellent in the drinks it provides, the service is second to none.
I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions as I visit Dublin...

Head here for da craic
Review of Dublin (Ireland) by
sheffwed
Advantages: the craic is always flowing
Disadvantages: not the warmest of places but other things make up for that
...I spent the last 12 months working in Co.Dublin and probably had the best year of my life. I'm only 20 and it was the first time I have been away from home for this length of time and was made to feel like part of very big family straight away. I was working in the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf links which is in between the city centre and the airport and is a fantastic location for a golf weekend or a short trip to Dublin.
With airlines such as Ryanair offering cheaper and cheaper air fares from a number of U.K. airports Dublin and Ireland seems to be the place to go for a short break.
I would strongly recommend not only the Portmarnock Hotel(see my op, for further details) but Dublin in general. There are a wide range of things to do in Dublin and i'm sure there is something for everyone, whether in be a stag party with the lads (Temple...

Shelbourne Hotel Dublin
Review of Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin by
Buglet1980
Advantages: Excellent location, Lovely rooms, friendly staff.
Disadvantages: This hotel is so good you don't want to leave!
...I stayed at the Shelbourne hotel last year and was very impressed. The decor of the hotel is lovely. The Bedrooms have everything you need - very comfy bed, mini bar etc, 24 hour room service (room service menu is very good), and also the bathroom has the best shower!
If you need anything or have any questions, the staff can't be more helpful.
I have stayed in lots of hotels and have to say this hotel is definetly at the top of my list (as well as the Morrison Hotel also in Dublin).
The location of the hotel is good, St Stephens Green. Very nice part of the city, close to Grafton Street for shopping. Also close to lots of good restaurants and bars.
The hotel has a couple of restaurants downstairs, although I didn't eat in them I have heard that they are excellent.
I tried the room service menu & it was very good. I wouldn't hesitate...

Good value accomodation in Dublin
Review of Jurys, Dublin by
andyev
Advantages: Clean, keenly priced hotel
Disadvantages: bar open to the public
...Jury's Christchurch Inn in Dublin is ideally situated opposite the Christchurch cathedral in the city, a short walk from Dublin castle and the main streets in Dublin where you will find the majority of the bars and restuarants.
The hotel can be reached easily from Dublin's airport, using either a taxi (around £20) or the special Airlink bus service that operates frequently between Dublin's airport and the river.
The hotel is fairly modern, and the rooms though not luxurious, do offer a good standard of accomodation, with full en-suite facilities, orthapedic beds and satellite television facilities.
The hotel is a family hotel and does allow kids to stay - this may be a problem for some, as the last thing you want on your romantic break away is a load of screming kids in the hotel foyer - especially if they are someone else...

Best value hotel in Dublin
Review of Bewley´s Hotel Newlands Cross, Dublin by
kebabking
Advantages: Nice Price, Good Quality
Disadvantages: Out of town
...I am visiting Dublin again for the fifth time in November & was looking at Ciao reviews. I'm very surprised that this hotel hasn't been rated yet as it is a little treasure. I should say at this point that I went there in 2001 with a 6 month old child & they catered for him very well, so no problems on the family side of things.
The only thing that is a drawback about this hotel is that it is a little way out of town. However, there is a bus service right outside if you are on a budget & wish to sample the (dubious) delights of Temple Bar of an evening & the taxis are not that expensive either should you wish to get there in better style.
I've stayed here three times, twice on a tour of Ireland visiting family, once on a dedicated Dublin city break. On each occasion I have had nothing to put me off of the place.
Situated...

A Taste of Dublin for Half the Price!
Review of Travelodge Dublin Castleknock, Castleknock by
jamidomobilio
Advantages: Very cheap, clean, and pleasant hotel
Disadvantages: Not in the centre so buses are necessary.
...If you fancy a weekend in Dublin you're certainly going to need plenty of money for your food and drink because it ranks highly in the list of the more expensive cities to visit - this is precisely the reason myself and my girlfriend opted for the Travelodge in Castlenock which is approximately 20 minutes bus journey from the centre of Dublin.
Don't be put off from staying at this hotel because of the distance issues - the bus services in Ireland are so much more regular and reliable than those we find in the UK and we didn't have to wait longer than ten minutes on any occasion for a bus. The stop is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel on a busy main road and it is advisable to have the correct fare (1.60 Euro) in coins for the machine because the drivers do not give change!
The hotel itself is set in pretty grounds well away from...

Dublins Finest Hotel - Shines - in places
Review of The Westbury Hotel, Dublin by
XTHINKERAL
Advantages: Stylish, Comfortable, Well Staffed, Clean,
Disadvantages: Pricey, Check out times, Dodgy TV Reception
...that I was made aware of. However I hear a wireless broadband connection is available on request - a colleague tells me.
The Bathroom was well stocked and very clean and bright, just what you need after a long journey to Dublin. Very Fluffy robes - Always a bonus.
I was disapointed by the TV in the rooms I saw in the westbury rooms. The reception was on occasions dodgy. However your staying in Dublin, there is more to do that watch TV - so only a minor critique.
Food wise - very prompt room service - though expensive - just like the mini-bar (but they always are). The Restaurant downstairs, was very good and well priced I found. However your probably find yourself eating outside the hotel if your only staying in Dublin for a few days - as there is so much on offer.
Location - FABULOUS - the Westbury is right next to the Famous Grafton...

Handy For A Flying Visit
Review of Bewley's Airport Hotel, Dublin by
the_mad_cabbie
Advantages: Good value 3-star hotel very convenient for Dublin Airport.
Disadvantages: A wee bit out in the boondocks.
...Bewley's Airport Hotel is one of four Bewley's Hotels in Dublin city.
Like all three of their other hotels it offers exceptional value for money for a fairly up-market 3-star hotel. The beauty of this particular Bewley's hotel is that it is very convenient to Dublin Airport, (about one and a half miles) and thus very handy for people paying a "flying" visit to Dublin (simply stopping over for one night to catch an ongoing flight) or for country people from Ireland who have a very early morning flight to catch and don't want to get out of bed at 2AM in order to catch it!
Lots of people also use the "Park and Ride" facility to Dublin Airport that the hotel offers both residents and non-residents. You pay Euro7 per day to use their car park, (Euro8 from 1/4/2008) and this includes a free bus service to departures, and a free journey back...

Cheap and cheerful in Dublin
Review of stayDublin Apartments, Dublin by
Kathdj
Advantages: Clean and warm. Very convenient location. Good value
Disadvantages: A bit basic. Sofa bed in lounge.
...Dublin accommodations tends to be of the very basic hostel type or quite expensive. We needed to accommodate 3 people for a few days in January but would have had to book a double and single hotel room - pricey!! However, a quick search on laterooms.com found us a great alternative. A one bedroomed appartment with a sofa bed in the lounge at a great price of only 65 Euro per night - between 3 - that's cheaper than a hostel.
Appartment was basic but lovely and warm, the beds were comfy, the bedlinen and towels fresh and clean. Plenty of space and kitchen equipped with the necessities - although a microwave might be useful if you did want to self-cater.
These appartments are located a couple of minutes walk from Temple Bar, across the Liffey. Only a short walk from O'Connell Street where you can catch a bus to the airport...
