TORO 40CM ELECTRIC RECYCLER MOWER 21072
Review of Toro 40cm Electric Rotary by
inycon2
Advantages: Recycles grass clippings, cuts all grass lengths
Disadvantages: Not good for tight spaces, no roller
...Toro Electric Recycler Mower (40cm rotary £229) 21072, 1400 watt electric induction motor
Ideal for small/medium sized lawns.
It's that time of year again, the grass is growing, the sap is rising, out comes the trusty old mower - "oh****", perhaps its not so trusty after all.
Down at the garden centre staff are busy dusting down the machinery and gemming up on the mower manuals to see who can make the best sales. Believe me, ( I have worked in these places) they're not interested in sending you home with a mower best suiting your needs. At the end of the day its sales figures that matter.
After being let down by my trusty old flymo last year, I did a little research and brought home a Toro Electric Recycler (40cm, rotary) Mower. I am very pleased with it. It does a quick, quality, no frills (stripes) job and I'm quite...

El Toro - the pram with that little bit of flair
Review of Micralite Buggy by
littleleicesterfox
Advantages: Light, easy to manoeuver, well-made and stands out
Disadvantages: Handles are strange for changing bags
...I bought the Micralite Toro Newborn for my baby boy who was born three months ago and I just have to say that I love having this pram!
It's light and easy to fold and turns on a sixpence - as an added bonus the rear wheels easily come off the frame and I can get it into the boot of a Mazda5 with all seven seats up (smaller than a mini!)
The carrycot has a good quality mattress included and my little fellow seems to find it comfortable - I am happy using it for an overnight stay.
I have been asked so many times where I got the pram and I love having something with a bit of individualistic flair. The cantilever folding mechanism is a thing of beauty and, once you have got used to it, easy and smooth.
There is nothing I would change about this - it is a fabulous pram and smoothly transports my little man everywhere we go...

El Espinazo del Diablo
Review of The Devil's Backbone DVD by
kepler3001
Advantages: Tense, spooky and atmospheric horror
Disadvantages: Some slightly hammy dialogue
...at night. Their lovemaking is a torment to the impotent Casares, who adores Carmen but can no longer satisfy her. Jacnito is of course, only interested in the gold and his late night visits are used to find out more about the whereabouts of the gold.
‘The Devil’s Backbone’ or ‘El Espinazo del Diablo’ as it’s called in Spanish, is a stylish and atmospheric horror from one of the masters of the genre - Guillermo del Toro. It is a gloomy, yet smartly paced, off-beat horror but at the same time it is a compelling, delicate and beautifully drawn allegorical yarn. The film works ceaselessly at creating its Civil War setting and tries to turn most of the events of the film into allegorical episodes. One very obvious example of this is the defused bomb in the courtyard - a suggestion that the frail normalcy of life at the orphanage may explode...

Thumbs up for Sol El Mouradi hotel, Tunisia
Review of Sol El Mouradi, Port El Kantaoui by
fallenangel68
Advantages: on the beach, fantastic staff, clean
Disadvantages: a little bit out of the way
...I visited the Sol El Mouradi in April 2005. My first holiday with my partner, I was really looking forward to it and it did not disappoint!
ARRIVAL
Talk about a spectacular lobby! I had seen pictures on the internet, but didn't think it would really look that grand. But it did! Marble, impressive double staircases, chrome mirrored lifts, plush seating and plants all around, I wondered if we'd really got the right hotel! Costing around £330 per person for 10 days in April, I didn't expect it to live up to its 4* status, but it really did! The porters were wearing smart red suits and were eager to take our bags and suitcases for us, and didn't expect money like the guys at the airport did! We were shown to our room and although we had requested a sea view, we hadn't paid for one so didn't get one/ The room was fine...

Port El Kantaoui
Review of Port El Kantaoui (Tunisia) by
micksheff
Advantages: Beautiful Beaches
Disadvantages: Mainly For Couples, Hassle From Local Shopkeekers
...Port El Kantaoui is a purpose built Holiday Resort on the Northern Coast of Tunisia in North Africa. It is situated just a few kilometres North of Sousse, Tunisia's second largest City after the Capital Tunis.
It was built in 1979 with a modern 300 Yacht capacity Marina as its focal point. In recent years this Marina has become a popular mooring location for the rich and famous undertaking their Mediterranean Cruises and the Marina here is said to rival those long established Marinas of Nice and Marbella on the Southern Coast of Europe. It is now also Tunisia's most popular Holiday Resort.
I stayed in Port El Kantaoui between the 2nd and 9th July 2006 and found the experience to be a rather interesting one. Since it was my first visit to Tunisia I was a little unsure of what to expect and as my Holiday approached I began to hear...

Bazooka EL350 EL Series 3.5 inch Coaxial EL350
Review of Bazooka EL350 3.5 by
leecross
Advantages: An ideal fit for older GM vehicles.
Disadvantages: Grilles NOT included.
...Bazooka EL350 EL Series 3.5 inch Coaxial EL350
I bought a pair of these car speakers last month so I thought I'd give you the low down on them. I paid £16 for them on eBay, which is a real bargain… not sure if they were as new as described but they work and are a real treat.
Type:
Full-Range Speakers, designed to achieve a deep enough bass extension to serve as a full range speaker without need for a subwoofer. It actually feels like there's a subwoofer underneath the car when I crank the bass up on my CD-Player. I'm not one to disturb other drivers; these speakers can achieve acceptable levels of driving volume for you to really get into your music without the sound waves departing the car and have pedestrians mutter "damn those chavs*!"
Brand:
Bazooka. I'd say that Bazooka are one of the top 10 brands for car stereo...

Sharm El Sheikh - Paradise?
Review of Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) by
showbiz0
Advantages: The weather, the people, the scenery, the hotel, the sea, the fish....
Disadvantages: Can get very hot in the summer period!
...On Thursday May 26th 2005, myself, my mum, my dad and my brother went on a family holiday to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. It was the first time we had been abroad for 4 years, the first time we had been on a plane for 4 years, the first time we had been to Africa - ever.
All my life I had dreamed of going to Egypt, mainly Cairo to see the Pyramids, as I had always wanted to become an archaeologist. I collected souveneirs from Museums and shops relating to Ancient Egypt, an amazing period in the worlds history filled with grand designs, architecture and beliefs. I collected a childrens magazine on Ancient Egypt and read up about the era in books both at home and at school. I was fascinated by everything I read and was determined from then on to visit the Great Pyramids at Giza, one seventh of the wonders of the Ancient World...

Sharm el Shiekh - Dive in
Review of Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) by
kathryn.rosling
Advantages: Weather, diving, friendliness, hotel stds and price
Disadvantages: Adjusting to Arab culture and being pestered
...I have recently returned from Naama Bay in Sharm el Shiekh which could possibly be the best value dive resort in the world.
This review is actually of Naama Bay the area itself and what it has to offer.
I must quantify this by stating that the diving/snorkelling is my own personal experience. Personally I could never just go and lie on a beach for more than an hour or two (and 2 hours would need a very very good book!). The 'bucket and spade brigade' info is feedback from friends I have recommended this resort to.
I have been there 13 times and plan to continue going back. I know, there are many people (including myself before I went there) who cannot imagine going back to the same resort but Naama Bay really is different.............................. Honest (and I don't mean cause it's been bombed! but more on the terrorist...

Sharm el Sheikh - first time impressions
Review of Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) by
magicronny
Advantages: good value for money, the best for diving and snorkelling, friendly people
Disadvantages: "Come sign my guestbook"
...Me and my partner just returned from a 8 days holiday in Sharm el Sheikh (Naama Bay). It was a wonderful experience - please read our review.
********** BOOKING **********
We booked via lastminute.com just 4 days before we went there - at £ 179 per person for 7 nights a real bargain. Included were:
- flight with Astraeus (charter airline) from and to Gatwick
- 7 nights accommodation incl. breakfast in the Ocean Bay Hotel
- transfer from and to the airport in Sharm el Sheikh
Travel insurance is included in our bank account arrangements, so we didn't need to buy. If you intend to go diving a lot, an extra insurance cover is advisable.
After the booking we got contacted by the travel agency ('Explorers' - specialist in diving holidays). The whole transaction went very smooth, no problems whatsoever. Two days before...

Our House in El Medano
Review of El Médano, Tenerife by
Sydney315
Advantages: Not full of British Tourists, Quiet but with nightlife.
Disadvantages: Quite windy
...The Canaries
The Canary Islands were formed by volcanic activity many years ago and give the visitor a unique range of scenery from beautiful beaches to lunar landscape in the interior of the islands. Tenerife is the largest island with many facilities for tourists of all sorts. The Canaries were once called the fortunate islands because of their unique climate. None of the houses have fireplaces because winter daytime temperatures average about 23 deg C. In Summer the average is more like 32-35deg C and it rarely hits the stiflingly hot 40 deg C that you find around the Med.
El Medano / Pellada area
El Medano situated on the south of the island, was originally a small , poor fishing village, with a shallow harbour and with the town square overlooking the main beach. This beach is notable because it is the only natural white...
