Advantages: Strong songs from beginning to end

...Signed to the V2 label, home of the Stereophonics, Elbow are spearheading their New Acoustic Movement. Yes I’m reviewing NAM bands again… Here’s one of those music phrases that brings journalists all over the country out in a cold sweat. "Elbow sound like Radiohead" I’m not saying they do you understand, but if I had to compare them to anyone I’d have to say them or the Doves. The Doves is probably the better of the two, since Elbow and The Doves both hail from Greater Manchester and both have that solemn anthemic quality to their songs. Elbow the most famous Bury band, well one day… "Asleep In The Back" is their debut album, which is out this month. Advantages: A good thirst quencher

...I'm a big fan of Wychwood beers, as anyone reading some of my reviews will soon notice. The trouble is, they keep bringing out different specials each month and there's only so much beer I can drink. One beer that isn't a special though is FIDDLERS ELBOW. WYCHWOOD BREWERY started life back in 1983 as a one-man business producing 8 to 10 barrels per week. As demand grew, a larger operation was set up on the site of an older brewery, which dated back to 1839. The Brewery now produces 30,000 barrels a year. Wychwood uses local water from the river Windrush, English malt, hops and yeast. No additives are used, and over the years the brewery has received various awards, mainly from the branches of CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale). Advantages: You don't want to skip any tracks. A hypnotic, cleverly written CD, half of the songs exceed 5mins but it anything but hard to listen to.
Disadvantages: it has a m..m..m..m..m..m..m..m..m..m...stammer in the middle..(well mine does because it got scrached...) other than that....disadvantage??? hmmm nope...

...Often compared to the doves and Radiohead, Manchester based Elbow seem (to me at least) an unlikely lot to be making smooth, chilled out, hypnotic music swimming with passion and beauty. Singer Guy Garvey has often called Elbow "prog-rock with no solos," but they are fundamentally a rock band. They do tend to like using organs a collection of unusual instruments and strange atmospherics. First song on the Album "Any day now" has a layered density to it. It seems way too long to begin with and with many songs like this, it's a track you may skip on the CD because it takes up so much time to listen to it. This is different, the more you listen to it, the more it grows on you, its sinister use of organ which (in a good way) plays all the way through and an excellent drum beat is perfect through out the song. ...elbow beach is the best album Louise had recorded. She has written most of the tracks herself and it is about hef own life. If you listen to the lyrics I think they describle life very well. If you are a louise fan then this album is a must because there are some very personal tracks in it. (ie. first kiss) The name of her album Elbow beach is where she and Jamie Redknapp got married. Some of the track in the album are especially good: beautiful inside, city boy fix, first kiss and eqyptian queen.... Read review

Advantages: Hard Wearing, Durable, Cool , Cheap
Disadvantages: Barbie isnt for most boys

...Children love to play, and this ususally involves running, rollerblading, cylcing, but mostly falling over! Although Barbie is considered soft and friendly, these knee and elbow pads are extremely hard, durable and most of all cool ( if they weren`t you little girl wouldnt wear them). With the velcro straps and well designed shape they are easy to put on, especially for small fingers. After several months of learning to rollerblade, my four year olds knees were begining to look like badly bruised apples. Now with these excellent knee & elbow pads my medical cabinet is collecting dust. Exceptional value for money and good piece of mind.... Read review

Advantages: smells lush

...With the summer months coming up and me being a dedicated flip flop wearer I thought that I would treat my feet to a bit of an overhaul so being a bit of a bargain lover I decided to use Avon as they are always good value for money and most of the products do what they say they will do. The first thing on my list of the overhaul was to generally soften the skin all over my feet so off I went to my trusty Avon representative to get the latest brochure. Luckily for me (Ha ha she says!) they had a special offer on the Planet Spa products for body and feet. I purchased the Planet Spa Foot and Elbow cream with AHA, African Shea Butter 75ml and a pair of cotton socks. Now I paid £3.00 for the two but I believe that normally the cotton socks are £3.00 and the cream is £3.00. Surprisingly I cannot find either of these items easily at www... Read review
