Eltax Liberty 5 series
Review of Eltax Liberty 5 Speaker Package by
B3ar
Advantages: Excellent affordability and sound
Disadvantages: Is there any?
...I purchased these last year from Richer Sounds, which is only one a of a few places that actually sell Eltax products, aswell as the odd shop and hi-fi store. I thought the floor standing ones looked so much more impressive than the book shelf ones, and paid an extortionately heavy price of £110! They look impressive to look at and the colour of the wood to the single bass and single tweeter cones work perfectly (I chose the Beech colour wood with metallic and white cones). Sped home in a taxi and after figuring out how to bi-wire them I set about positioning them in my match box room! They need to be at least a foot away in perimeter from anything, and you can add spiked feet for extra height and clarity of bass which often rumbles through the floor. The Eltax website is very impressive and they have lots of quality products. They have...

Eltax Liberty 5 versus Mission 702e
Review of ELTAX SYNPHONY 8 by
Joekool
Advantages: fantastic 'big', rich sound. Very good price.
Disadvantages: quite deep, need to be away from wall
...demonstrations of both products (albeit in different shops!), and much to my own astonishment,I opted for the Eltax. I had fully intended on the basis of equal reviews to go for the Mission by virtue of it being from bass-ported not rear like the Eltax. However I couldn't ignore the fact that the Eltax had a considerably superior definition of bass. It was clearer and smoother than the Mission, which was quite bass-heavy and boomy in comparison. The only drawback is that they are both slightly deeper in size than the Mission and rear bass-ported which means they shouldn't be placed directly against the wall.
Notwithstanding this however, they are a seriously class act, can handle 100 watts of power and deliver a depth and quality of sound which, if you're used to compact speakers, will take your breath away....

Lost in Sound
Review of Eltax Liberty 5 Speaker Package by
dadmancat
Advantages: A marvel for the money
Disadvantages: bulky if i really must complain
...a horrible dull thudding throughout anything, and I decided to let the sub go back to the very low frequencies and I would look for new speakers.
While shopping about, Eltax kept on catching my eye as a brand. Great sounding prices and with research great reviews too. Rather than plump for the whole lot, I dipped a toe into the water and bought a Liberty Centre. Bulky at 175mm h x 480mm w x 240mm d, finished in a simple and stylish light beech, and weighing in it a reassuring 7.4 kg I immediately expected pleasant results, and it did not disappoint. Crystal clear, with a crisp clarity to the vocals on the central channel usually reserved for dialogue, it also boasted nice bass, and a width and depth that belied it's centre speaker tag. While the vocals were pinpoint accurate, any ambient sounds it produced were thrown out around me, dwarfing...

Mid price performance, budget cost
Review of Eltax Liberty 5 Speaker Package by
dobieg
Advantages: Excellent mid-priced speakers at budget price
Disadvantages: Not small!
...My pair of Eltax Liberty 5 floor standing speakers give astonishing results and cost a lot less than I expected.
These impressive beasts give true mid priced performance at very little more than budget cost.
I bought just the main speakers on their own, and paid around the hundred pound mark, where else, but Richer Sounds.
This was part of a two stage ploy to get some semi-serious audio kit into the house without 'er indoors taking a tantrum!
They stand a full 84cm off the ground, are 20cm wide and are 33 cm front to back, but the shouldn't be pushed against a wall as this restricts the rear reflex port.
They are made of 22mm chipboard, so they are substantial enough to do the business, without needing to be a weightlifter to move them, mine are covered in 'beech' effect foil.
There is a single 150mm bass...

Ideal Bedroom Speakers
Review of Eltax Monitor 3 by
jennyd60
Advantages: Compact inexpensive bi-wireable 2 way speaker 90W power handling
Disadvantages: Needs careful placement to avoid boomy bass. Synthetic beechwood finish is rather ersatz
...I brought these Eltax speakers to brighten up one of many bedroom DAB mini hi-fi units that we have in our home. In the main these mini systems tend to come with woefully inadequate speakers and so can be immensely improved by the simple act of upgrading the speakers to something with a semblance of frequency response.
I didn't want to pay a lot for a set of speakers which would, in the main, only be heard by guests but I did want to get something halfway decent.
A bit of research revealed these units along with several other alternatives were available at around £50 from Richer Sounds.
I set off to listen to these Eltax units alongside the Kef Cresta 10, and the Gale 3010.
Being a closet anorak and ex BBC engineer - I know that KEF made the driver units for many of the famous BBC designed reference loudspeakers like the LS3...

Lady Liberty raise me up
Review of The Statue of Liberty, New York by
KELLYLOUJ
Advantages: Free transport around the Statue
Disadvantages: Not able to access the statue any longer since 9/11
...and were able to climb inside the statue, between September 11 and August 3 2004 the island and the statue were closed due to security concerns and to this day the statue still remains closed but visitors can once again access the island. Previously visitors had been able to access the crown and the torch but this has remained closed since July 1916.
Visitors can see inside the statue through the glass ceiling and view the structure of the Lady.
The Statue of Liberty is located on Liberty Island, Liberty Island is a small island in New York Harbour just off the New Jersey Coast and between 1892 and 1954 saw twelve million immigrants enter the United States.
In 1965 President Lyndon Johnson announced that Liberty Island was to be part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument and was opened to the public and now receives over 2 million...

Pop's confess on Liberty X
Review of Thinking It Over - Liberty X by
Popalot
Advantages: Gripping
Disadvantages: No live versions of songs
...stands out, little ones love to do the dance with the stick and older ones like the raunchy content. a winner as a wide audience appeal. a song like this brings appreciation in image for liberty x's first releases. 10/10
3. doin' it. one of the early singles, original in content, style and not your average pop song. this song is a good background song for a candlelit dinner. again the sounds add brilliant and relevant effect. 9/10
4. wanting me tonight. a song about being loved. one word, ok - i am neither positive or negative on this track. 5/10
5. got to have your love. as catchy as just a little, this song has a good use of deep drums and vocals. strong and to the point. 8/10
6. no clouds. a song about moving on. i like the way it compares feeling down to bad weather and feeling better with sunshine. it gives the importance...

Grand Theft Auto 3 Liberty City, PC-PS2
Review of Grand Theft Auto 3 (PC) by
jamesdaviesmv7557
Advantages: A True Classic, Utterly Brilliant
Disadvantages: No Motorcycles/Planes
...The first grand theft auto that was any good,
When I first played this I was amazed at the bang up to date graphics and game play I as we all were was used to the 2d tedious game play of the earlier games.
The graphics engine is a lot better although they kept what made the older games popular, and that was do what ever the hell you want! Same as the older games you run around shooting innocent people, Steal cars, and work for gangsters but this has the graphics to really drag you in to the world of liberty city, it was in my opinion the best game when it came out only being beaten by Grand Theft Auto Vice City, When they finally released it about a year later.
In the game you still play a mute like the older games the main character never talks, however this only creates room for the other characters and theirs lots of them...

liberty city all over again...
Review of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PS2) by
Danno89
Advantages: Gameplay of a handheld game
Disadvantages: lacks a few features
...Totally great game can't stop playing it yet. graphics 9/10 better than the graphics of gta 3 of the ps2. Controls 7/10 hard to get used to and a bit fiddly but fine. Loved the fact motorbikes exist in the game. Nice and bright. A few loading moment in the game 9/10. By far the best game for the psp. Gameplay 10/10. Not so keen on the analog stick to control it with. Tho. This game could have been better but its rockstar leads first GTA so yuo can blame them for missing out a few things in the games.
This game has a very basic structure tho its very simple and is the same as GTA iii not very original. The missions are not at all challenging which was extremly boring. The avererge time to complete this game would be at least 2-3 days its too easy. It rockstar leeds first production tho. Completing this game 100% was simple and you...

Feel free at Liberty's
Review of Liberty´s Nightclub by
ayanayuk
Advantages: It's all inclusive, good music, toilets are fairly clean
Disadvantages: Gets too packed, some of the people can be annoying.
...I've always had a view of clubs that are all inclusive (in other words the drinks are free after you pay admission) and that view is that they're dingy and cummy affairs full of beer boys and old slappers. Satan's Hollow in Manchester supported this. So did the Grafton in Liverpool. Liberty's however is actually different.
From the outside it looks quite tidy. It's located over the car park from TFI Friday's in Hagley Road and in a weird way the two of them seem to complment each other. I can describe it, they just do. So when you get into the club you pay £15 unless you're a member (me and Little Miss Evil, my fiancée are) in which case you can usually use the cheaper entry vouchers they send you each month. Depending on what time you get there, you're then either ushered into the lounge (which is kind of like a plush quiet...
