Kit Kat - New slogan same chocolate bar.
Review of Kit Kat by
micksheff
Advantages: Very tasty
Disadvantages: Not good for the waistline
...that it doesn’t actually make people want to run out and buy one. I say what a load of twaddle, are any of us consumers so gullible as to buy a product simply because of a slogan?
The answer is of course no. The simple truth is that kit kat has remained a market leader for the past 60 years because it is a fantastic product.
The History
The crunchy chocolate crisp bar as we know today as a kit kat was first introduced in London and the south east of England in 1935 as Rowntree’s chocolate crisp. It was renamed kit kat in 1937 and launched nationwide.
The name kit kat was taken from the kit kat club, an 18th century whig literary club. This club had a very low ceiling so all of the paintings on the wall were very long and narrow and some had to be snapped off to fit into the space. These long narrow paintings were known in the art world...

Painapple Kit Kat
Review of Pineapple Kit-Kat by
Hmatt
Advantages: Only available in Japan & well packaged.
Disadvantages: Disgusting, expensive, unhealthy & depressing.
...The universal law that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction can be convincingly confirmed by a study of limited edition chocolate bars. For all the genius and delicacy that is the Banana Kit Kat, there is the horror, repulsion and nausea that is its erstwhile Pineapple compatriot. Currently only available in Japan, should this vile snack product ever make it onto the Trans-Siberian Railroad and somehow find its way to England it would prove that God did not exist. Just in case rats or other agents of the devil do a Black Plague job on this one and sneak it into our country, here is a brief “Know Your Enemy” guide to make sure you are properly aware of exactly what this diminutive demon is and why it should be avoided.
Pineapple Kit Kats are sold in small flip-lid boxes almost identical to those of the Banana...

Banana Kit Kat
Review of Kit Kat Banana by
Hmatt
Advantages: Interesting & addictive flavour, packaging from heaven.
Disadvantages: Only out in Japan & pricey.
...They've hit Japan in a big way and when the west-bound tsunami reaches England, you will need to be prepared to catch the wave. This quick food review will set you up with all the little details you'll need to be ready, and impress your friends.
This is a Kit Kat with a difference. Yellow streaks instead of brown run through the middle, carrying a creamy smooth banana flavoured sugar-bomb that will blow your mind, your waistband and then your bank balance. They are very addictive indeed.
The banana flavour is the artificial tang you'll find in milkshakes, ice cream, bubble gum and those of you with a taste-based memory will find your head flooded instantly with flashbacks to kids-only toothpaste and that curious sensation that accompanied brushing with something other than mint. The milky Nestle chocolate neatly complements...

No need for kit...
Review of Old El Paso Fajita Dinner Kit by
mrsxopher
Advantages: Yum Factor
Disadvantages: No real need for the kit...not enough salsa and tortillas too small.
...Ok, so for £2 you get a box of Fajita makings, and a recipe. And the price is favourably comparative. However, I find it is much better and nearly the same price just to buy all the stuff myself. So, I will begin this review with what a Fajita is, tell you about what comes in the mix, and then go on to give suggestions for buying your own individual items (as the quality is much better) as well as give you an excellent recipe for these wonderful lil delights.
What is a Fajita:
Depending on where you get them, in a restaurant, in a kit, in England, or another country, (I personally have never been to Mexico to get them, but would be interested in finding out what they are like there!), you are going to get a wide variety of flavours upon trying these. It is important to understand that first of all, the Flour Tortilla is a basic...

KitKat in kubes!
Review of Kit Kat Kubes by
Louise90
Advantages: Easy to eat. Lots of them!
Disadvantages: None
...Whilst waiting for a train yesterday at Norwich train station, I decided to pop into WH Smiths there to see what they had in the way of confectionery. I wanted a nibble of something and was going to get a packet of crisps or something. But, on one of the stands I noticed packets of KitKat Kubes and another sweet (can't remember what!) for £2 for 2 packets!
So I picked up 2 packets of KitKat Kubes. I'd never seen these before, and was intrigued to see how KitKat could make cubes from their sticks! So, for 1 packet, I paid £1 for a 175g bag. As these were on offer, I'm not sure how much they are normally, but more than £1 I should imagine!
The packet is predominantly red with the said named in big letters on the front. What I like about this particular foil packet is that there's a sticker on the back to seal the packet if you...

England Football Team Part 1
Review of England by
mrpaella
Advantages: Sven has improved the confidence of the players
Disadvantages: Not enough of the squad play abroad
...ORIGINALLY WRITTEN October 2000
A LIFE AS AN ENGLAND SUPPORTER
Although I cannot remember the match my parents told me that I watched the 1966 World Cup final at the age of 4.
I began watching England matches in 1970. I particularly remember a match at Wembley where England thrashed Belgium 3-1. It was a wonderful performance. Alan Ball and Geoff Hurst got the goals.
In those days the Home International Championships were played at the end of the season. England would easily see off Wales and Northern Ireland. The big game was the final match, which was against Scotland.
I think the score in 1970 was 0-0.
1970 WORLD CUP
Afterwards the World Cup in Mexico began. England was drawn in a group with Rumania, Brazil and Czechoslovakia.
The match with Rumania was a dour affair. I can remember Geoff Hurst scoring...

England Football Team Part 2
Review of England (National Team 2002) by
mrpaella
Advantages: Already qualified for Euro 2004
Disadvantages: Club v Country clashes
...CONTINUATION
This is not a new op but a continuation of my England football op. That op had reached its maximum limit of 5500 words. Ciao gave me permission to continue my England cricket op so I am assuming Ciao will do likewise for the football version. I try to update this op after every England match.
UPDATED June 2002
ENGLAND 1 SWEDEN 1
Well the World Cup has finally got under way for England.
England started very well and the passing and movement was good. I did notice a lack of players in the midfield though.
David Beckham led by example. Darius Vassell really looked lively. The Swedes started off very sluggishly.
Sol Campbell put England ahead from a great header from a Beckham corner. Afterwards England seemed to relax.
After half-time Sweden simply took over. They got a deserved equaliser and were...

England Cricket Team Part 1
Review of England by
mrpaella
Advantages: Side hard to beat
Disadvantages: Often wrong team selected
...ORIGINALLY WRITTEN AUGUST 2000
LIFE AS AN ENGLAND SUPPORTER
I first started watching England on TV in 1970 at the age of 8.
In those days the BBC1 commentators were Jim Laker and Richie Benaud. Peter West introduced each test session.
1970
England was due to play South Africa but this tour was cancelled due to the sports wide ban due to South Africa’s apartheid policies.
Instead England played a test series against the Rest of the World. This team was a fantastic side and comprised of players such as Eddie Barlow, Clive Lloyd, Graeme Pollock, Gary Sobers etc.
England lost the series 4-1 but it was no disgrace to lose to such a great side. My main memory is of Geoff Boycott scoring a magnificent 157 against a brilliant bowling attack.
Later in the year England toured Australia and regained the Ashes...

have a break, have one of these new Kit Kats
Review of Kit Kat Cappuccino by
techno_man_37
Advantages: great taste, cheap.
Disadvantages: none, unless you dont like the taste.
...The Kit Kat
The Kit Kat, we’ve all heard of them and there one of the oldest, nicest chocolate bars around.
The four finger Kit Kat first came about after a worker at the Rowntree’s factory in York put into the suggestion box a note that suggested, something that a “man could have in his lunch box for work”.
Then in September of 1935 this fantastic chocolate bar was launched into our lives, it was not yet called the Kit Kat however, and instead called Rowntree's Chocolate Crisp.
The two finger edition of this bar was released around a year later in early may of 1936, and this is the bar that we are all now more familiar with.
The Chocolate Crisp was renamed in 1937 and was changed to the Kit Kat Chocolate Crisp and it was not until after World War 2 that this chocolate bar was just called the Kit Kat...

A World Of Kit Kats
Review of Kit Kat by
Amy69
Advantages: Large variety, practical, delicious, price
Disadvantages: None really!
...When it comes to selecting a delicious little snack, I often opt for a Kit Kat, and for this, there are many reasons! But when it comes to choosing which one in particular, the flavour, size and pleasure all come into consideration…
-----HISTORY-----
The original Kit Kat was created by Rowntrees, all the way down in York, in 1935, when it was given the name Chocolate Crisp. It went through various other names, such as Kit Kat Crisp, before settling on just 'Kit Kat' after the second world war.
The first Kit Kat came in the four-finger range, providing that pleasant combination of chocolate and wafer. Over seventy years later, Kit Kats have sold worldwide, fashioning all sorts of new and interesting flavours and sizes.
For example, Japan have shelved a Kit Kat Bitter, and Australia have their Kit Kat Mint Rush.
