Whats the Worth of a Mondeo
Review of Ford Mondeo 2.0 by
wibbly0101
Advantages: Space, Handling, Cruising
Disadvantages: Performance, Fuel Consumption,
...So what is the worth of a Mondeo in todays modern environment? Another bland offering from Ford or a wonder of modern technology. I have been using a Mondeo 2.0 litre petrol automatic estate for the past 4 months, and whilst the car in automatic form has its disadvantages, the advantages outweigh the weaknesses in terms of a good family car.
In Zetec guise the car has a great spec, semi auto climate control, power steering, ABS, remote stereo controls, electric windows all round and alloy wheels are a few just to start a great spec for the car.
The petrol version is available in either a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed automatic version. I have the automatic version, and oh dear! The auto box lets the car down BIG time. Whilst its fine for cruising on the motorway at 70mph, as soon as you encounter any kind of incline the car is left...

The ultimate Legacy
Review of Subaru Legacy 2.5 Estate by
scoobyman
Advantages: An excellent allround luxury car, for a reasonable price
Disadvantages: Bit heavy on the fuel
...This car is everything the 2.5 auto is (read my review on that), and a little bit more. I said that I always look forward to driving the 2.5 auto as it is such a superb ride in every respect. Well this car is all that, and more. It just has those little extra touches that make you feel like a king!
The seats inside this car are amazingly comfortable – and they really do look the business. All the other little extras, such as climate control, are all those little touches which all go together to bring perfection.
Though the lux-pack legacy is a few thousand more than the standard, I really believe it is worth it. Consider what you are getting for your money, and compare it to the competition – you wont be disappointed. If you have the money and are considering a car of this nature, just buy it!...

2002 Nissan Primera 2.2 SVE TD (Estate)
Review of Nissan Primera 1.8 SE Estate by
SgtZara
Advantages: High Spec / Large Boot / Reliability
Disadvantages: Averaging 40mpg for a Diesel!!!
..., Curtain Air Bags, Rear Reversing Camera, Trip Computer and an Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror.
In relation to the Rear Reversing Camera, I've driven other cars with Rear Parking Sensors. I think that the Rear Reversing Camera is far superior to this as you can 'see' where you are going and how far you have left. Being an estate car, this have proved invaluable in helping keep the rear of the car free from parking knocks.
The Primera offers a comfortable driving position, giving you a commanding view of the road ahead. I'm 6ft tall and there's still plenty of headroom left when I'm driving. The back seats will hold three comfortably.
I have three German Shepherd dogs and one of the reasons I opted for this car was the boot space. There's tons of it!!! With the rear seats folded down, there's even more!!! We moved house in March this year...

AN EASY WAY TO PICK A BARGAIN...
Review of Auto Trader by
wilsam00
Advantages: Quality of conten, value, range of vehicles, range of prices, avalability
Disadvantages: None
...Auto trader was established some 20 years ago and since then has been a godsend to those looking to buy a second hand car at a bargain price. The Auto trader has a few different “sister” publications such as Bike trader, Truck Trader and Caravan Trader though the Auto trader is the most common of them all.
The Auto trader book varies across different regions i.e. the North edition is a lot shorter than the midlands edition though most are almost identical. The Auto trader book is a paperback book with mainly paper pages though some are glossy.
Contents.
All the pages are divided into sections for example. Prestige cars, General Vehicle’s etc. There are 15 categories in all:
· Prestige
· General Vehicles
· Sports
· Classics, American and Left hand drive vehicles
· Estate vehicles and MPV’s
· Four wheel drive...

Avoid Rip-off New Car Prices
Review of Auto Source UK Car Importer by
buzios
Advantages: Big Savings, Professional and Helpful Service
Disadvantages: None really
.... After delivery to the dealer I received the car about two days later. The paperwork all arrived the next day and I dropped it at my local DVLA office. I got the registration back 2 days later and went and bought some plates and I was on the road.
And so how much did I save?
Well, for a Saab 9-5 Aero auto estate with parking assistance the recommended retail price at the time was £31,185 and a Saab dealer would not have given you much less than this. The price I paid was:-
Price paid to dealer in Sweden = SEK 255,865 = £19,849 (at the time I ordered).
Shipping – paid to AutoSource = £325
UK delivery – paid to transport company = £190
VAT – paid to HM Customs and Excise = £3473
Road Tax and Registration = £195
TOTAL = £24032
Giving a total saving of £7153!!
Obviously, this is a pricey car but similar savings can be achieved on cheaper models...

Wanna buy a car mate...
Review of autotrader.co.uk by
MikeWhalley
Advantages: Easy, full of features
Disadvantages: Can be slow and search doesn't work 100% of the time
...that the search should find in ads, but exclude those matching ads from the search results. Here's an example. Say I'm looking for a saloon Subaru Impreza Turbo (which I am). I may enter 'turbo' into the keyword section. But the problem is that this would return dozens of 'turbo' Imprezas - including estate turbos. Having an exclude keyword option would allow me to enter 'estate' in that section and exclude all the estate Imprezas. Just something that I think about each time I search for a car!
Another annoying thing about the search is the quality of the pictures. They are rather small, and you really would appreciate a larger view of the car - if they have one. Sadly they don't and you end up trusting a tiny picture - if there is one in the first place!
The personalised number plate links from the Auto Trader site kept me amused for a few hours...

Mondeo bought at auction
Review of Ford Mondeo 2.0 by
webfoot
Advantages: Comfortable, attractive, nippy and reliable
Disadvantages: A bit heavy on fuel and tyres.
...I bought my silver Ford Mondeo 2.0 LX 16v Estate at Westbury Motor Auctions, Somerset in August 2001 for a total of £4919. It had a FSH from one previous owner, a wine rep, and had 58,000 miles on the clock.
Now 19 months later, it has done 75,000 miles and I have kept up the Scheduled Maintenance Services at my local Ford garage. I tend to trash cars however, and it shows it on the outside with several dents. I like the Estate because I have two flat coat retrievers and I keep them behind the dog guard in the boot.
The car has plenty of zip for its size and engine capacity but you pay for this in increased fuel consumption which is understandable. To give an example I make one specific journey frquently from Dorset to Sussex, a return journey of 300 miles. It costs me £38 to refill the tank, which averages out at just under 26 mpg...

Review of Citroen C5 2.2 HDi 16v Exclusive Automatic Estate by
Phliptop
Advantages: Gorgeous to drive and travel in. Comfortable, practical and capacious and dripping with gadgets.
Disadvantages: Not a car for the DIYer. No Haynes manual. Expensive to service and rear brakes dreadfully designed.
...I have always had a preference for French cars, particularly Citroens. I have had three BXs and I thought my last BX was the best car I have ever owned until I bought this C5.
I have a 2002 2.2 HDi Auto C5 estate with all the bells and whistles, the Exclusive SE trim level.
It is the first time in very many years that I actually look forward to driving my car. It is just so restful and calming to drive. You can travel a couple of hundred miles and still arrive feeling fresh. The car has loads of gadgets and if I get bored in traffic jams, I can just play with all the toys. The dual zone air con works a treat and the sun roof is the biggest I have seen on any car, ever.
It is an ideal car for a booze cruise and recently with about three quarters of a ton of French beer in the back, it still romped up the M20 with the self...

What you should know before using Bridgfords
Review of Bridgfords by
rdobbie
Advantages: Great advertising coverage, benefits of a large nationwide parent company, good fortnightly newsletter
Disadvantages: Very expensive fees, pushy sales negotiatiors, more interested in selling you financial products
...and is a very valuable tool to anyone wishing to sell or buy.
However, a word of warning here. I have read articles in internet trade journals which make a rather alarming claim about property websites such as Rightmove and Assertahome. Many estate agents only use these websites as a secondary form of advertising. In other words they only post the houses which are proving harder to sell. If you really want the pick of the best houses which come on the market, you have to phone or visit the branch every day.
This particular point has been proven in my own experience: I have been notified by "auto email alert" to a new house for sale on Rightmove, only to find that the house had been on sale for four weeks and was already under offer. You think you're the first to know but actually you're the last.
Bridgfords also have a fortnightly newsletter...

Power Shot G2 pro camera, realistic price
Review of Canon PowerShot G2 by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Easy to use, robust
Disadvantages: Might not be easy to find on sale
...of different positions for ease of operator use. The screen also has a “safe” position to ensure that any potential damage to it during storage is minimised dramatically.
The camera is not very light, but then neither is it too heavy, either.
The battery life is reasonable and you can get a great many shots in-between charges. Although, of course, use of the flash will tend to increase battery drain.
Although the camera has many features (all adequately covered in the instruction manual) the one setting that is most impressive is the auto setting. In auto setting the Canon Power Shot G2 really is a point and click camera, but it is capable of returning some very high quality images.
The Canon Power Shot G2 is an ideal camera for journalists who double as photographers, amateur or professional photographers, insurance investigators, estate...
