...After getting fed up with my Microsoft Intellimouse (standard), as the dirt hindered the use of the mouse, I decided to upgrade to the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer at a cost of £30 from buy.com with a voucher, its has an "optic eye" which enables it to work without any inner ball. After a years worth of testing all I can say is that it is excellent, it is fluid, never becomes clogged up with dust, and looks really cool with its silver case and red optic eye. It works really well on all surfaces excluding glass. Included in the box is the mouse, a ps2 adaptor(which therefore allows you to use either usb or ps2), basic manual and a installation cd to tweak the settings of the mouse, The only criticism I have towards the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer, is that it is only for right handers only, the colour begins to fade over time... ...I just downgraded back to Internet Explorer 5.0. I had nothing but problems with 5.5 There are many sites that do not support 5.5 and in Hotmail (Microsoft's own email program) I could not reply to an email. I would start replying, type a lengthy email averaging about 3 minutes before the entire Internet Explorer would just shut down. I went back to 5.0 and am having no problems whatsoever. I guess they'll fix these bugs soon, and it will probably be better than 5.0 in the long run. Other than that IE is the way to go.... Read review

...The Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer is probably the best piece of kit I have bought for my PC, mainly due to the excessive amounts of gaming I do. Unlike conventional mice, the Intellimouse uses an optical beam which scans the surface beneath the mouse 1500 per second and creates perfectly smooth movement. No more mouse balls getting stuck, or wheels getting clogged up with dirt and dust. The optical beam works on virtually any surface perfectly. Additionally, the mouse has 5 mouse buttons and a mousewheel which can be configured individually, so you have an exceptional amount of control at your fingertips. Disadvantages: Netscape over complicated

...I have been using Internet Explorer version 5.01 now for about 3 months having updated version 5 from the windows update page. My father-in-Law has been using Netscap Navigator and I have been trying to help him as he is new to computing. On the whole I find Netscape unnecessirily complex for the average user and my Father-in-Law canot find his way round it very well. After a serious system crash we had to wide his whole system and he is nowusing Internet explorer and he is getting on much better. I am also able to help him as he is using the same system as me. On the Whole I feel that IE is a more practical product than Netscape.... Read review

Advantages: Unless you're too lazy to load two copies of Windows Explorer, I can think of none
Disadvantages: Takes up space, does the same thing as a program already included with windows

...I was given this program by a friend to try, after he promised that it was fantastic. I tried it out and wondered what he saw in it. The program is basically a replacement for Windows Explorer, but it has a Windows 3.1 File Manager feel to its design and control. Most - if not all - of the features it has are already available in Windows Explorer, such as direct access to FTP sites within the program. One good thing I can think of is that it allows you to split the screen to manage your files, so you can have you CD-ROM drive in one pane, and your hard disk in the other pane. Though this can be done simply by loading two Windows Explorers and selecting tile windows.... Read review

Advantages: Glorious countryside
Disadvantages: could not see everything, really need to spend a week or more exploring this area

...I spent a large amount of one summer exploring California with my father, part of our trip included the very scenic journey from Los Angelas to San Francisco along Highway 1, a journey which I will never forget. The total time taken to explore this area was 3 days, are first stop was at Solvang, described as the Denmark in California!! Full of wind mills and other european wares, quite bizarre in the middle of California. Our second stop was Santa Maria, where we spent the night and had a wonderful meal, the following day we travelled to Morro Bay, a large rock peninsula, with stunning views all around, we paddled in the shallow waters then proceeded to San Simeon where we spent our 2nd night of the journey. We spent most of our third day exploring Big Sur, Carmel and Monterey. We drover around Carmel's 17 Mile drive then explored... Read review
