Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive - 32 GB
Review of Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive - 32 GB by
reallyhandsomeharry
Advantages: large storage and build of quality
Disadvantages: expensive for a flash drive but you get what you pay for
...As a rule I try not to carry my laptop around with me, opting instead to transport files the easy way using USB flash drives, of which I have 3 due to the size of the files I have to load and upload. My first encounter with a flash drives came with the expensive yet disappointing Lexar and over the years I've steadily moved from one to another gradually increasing the memory size as the size of files seems to spiral out of all proportion! I paid just £65.99 for the Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive from our IT supplier and with a 32 GB memory I had anticipated it being my final purchase of a flash drive for a considerable period of time.
Opting for a USB flash drive from a company like Corsair meant that I knew I would be getting a product of quality, and the Flash Voyager oozes quality and style. Compact and durable the drive can...

Flash Voyager - A quick trip through the wash
Review of Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive - 512 MB by
invisible
Advantages: Fast, cheap, compact, dropable and machine-washable
Disadvantages: Small Capacity. Difficult to plug 2 sticks in side by side.
...clumsy guy and I haven't managed to break it yet. Corsair provide a ten year warranty, so I'll probably lose mine before I manage to break it.
This stick is fast. I've heard that the Transcend JetFlash range are faster, but the flash Voyager sticks are the fastest I've used personally. The 512 doesn't seem to be as fast as the latest 4gb and 8gb Flash Voyager sticks, but I don't know whether something has changed in the manufacturing process or it just appears slower to me.
Overall this stick is still fast, or as fast as you need such a small stick to be. It's compact, although not tiny, and it feels like it will survive a fair few drops (mine certainly has). 512MB sticks are pretty cheap these days, although I'd personally spend a little more and get a 1GB version, especially if you want to keep MP3s or videos on the stick...

Corsair 2gb Voyager Flash Drive
Review of Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive - 2 GB by
PepeLaPue
Advantages: Speed, Reliability, Looks, Lanyard
Disadvantages: Rubber coating makes it quite large
...I chose this flash drive as corsair are a very well respected memory manufacturer, and had read on various forums that its speed was second to none.
I can confirm that as i have used it in conjunction with the Vista Ready Boost function that aims to boost system performance by using a flash drive as a page file, naturally the corsair with its speed was a good choice for this job.
This is a very competent and very quick flash drive, which i whole heartedly recommend to anyone.
The lanyard is a cool freebie and makes the flash drive easier to find.
However when plugged into a usb drive the rubber outer coating can impair the usage of other usb peripherals but this is only a minor qualm with an otherwise excellent product.
For the price you can find cheaper flash drives out there but as with any technological product...

Corsair 2GB Voyager GT Flash Drive
Review of Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive - 4 GB by
hibbs
Advantages: Very Fast and rugged
Disadvantages: Cap easily lost
...Brilliant.
OK, not the cheapest on the market but amazingly fast and very rugged.
It works flawlessly with the Windows Vista ReadyBoost system giving your laptop or PC a large increase in memory, I have found that this can help when playing very demanding games and improved load up times by about 30%. The speed of this drive is really noticeable when transferring large files, through USB2 I can transfer 1gb of files in about 20 seconds, compared to other flash drives I have used that is extremely quick.
As for Corsairs claim that this is virtually indestructible well, I’ve dropped mine, stood on it and even dropped it in a puddle – it still works. It hangs of my keys all day long and gets quite a severe battering and yet it never fails to work or be recognised by any PC.
My only complaint is that the cap on the drive...

take your files on a voyage
Review of Datawrite Voyager USB Pen Drive USB flash drive - 2 GB by
lynseyb
Advantages: cheap and very strong.
Disadvantages: none to mention.
...I needed a flash drive to enable me to carry files around with me as i do not have a laptop at the minute. i travel between my own house and my mums an a daily basis and we both have pc`s but on hers i had no access to my files some of which were important for my work or for building my website.
i had very little idea about flashdrives so when i started looking around for one i was at a little bit of a loss as to which to choose.
To be honest i chose this one purely because it was a name i had heard of through using datawrite dvd`s and cd`s.
It has however turned out to be a very good choice, a friend of mine bought a different type flashdrive a few days after me and hers has already broke. It seems that these things are prone to breaking, hers snapped just below the usb plug part where it plugs into your pc and its not the only...

More stick than you can shake a stick at.
Review of Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive - 8 GB by
invisible
Advantages: Huge Capacity, very fast, made of rubber!
Disadvantages: Expensive, slightly bulky, bendy
...So,... I managed to get my boss to agree to slip one of these in with works last order of memory sticks, so technically it's not mine. I've used many of these sticks, and plan to stick with the Corsair Flash Voyager for the foreseeable future, despite reasonable offerings from Kingston and Sandisk.
This is a great stick, it's huge. I'm not quite sure yet what I'm going to do to fill it up. I have enough music on here to keep me going, I have all the software I need on here, as a matter of fact I'm using Firefox portable on this memory stick to write the review as we speak.
These drives are generally very reliable, I've only had one fail on me and I'm on Flash Voyager number 6 now. I certainly prefer them to either of the Kingston USB drives or the SanDisk ones that we use.
The stick itself, like the other members...

Go big in rubber
Review of Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive - 2 GB by
brereton66
Advantages: Robust, big capacity
Disadvantages: Bulkier than some others
...Corsair Flash Voyager 2GB
Flash Drive storage
I'm addicted to these little pen drives, this is now my fourth. Starting with a 64MB one up to this 2GB model. Funnily enough I always seem to pay the same for each one, much like every PC I've bought since 1997 (every one is £1000). I bought this a couple of months ago for £90 but they are now retailing for half of that. C'est la vie.
Why do you need one of these?
If you ever use more than one PC these drives are unbeatable for holding and transferring fairly large amounts of data. They are so quick and convenient I can't imagine being without one.
In use:
The size of a cigarette lighter, they are easy to carry around in any pocket or bag. They will work with any PC running Windows 2000 onwards with no extra software requirements. All you need to do is plug it into an available...

Corsair washes away the competition.
Review of Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive - 4 GB by
invisible
Advantages: Waterproof, drop-proof, fast, big capacity,
Disadvantages: Too big to stick two of them in consecutive ports
...that this stick is rugged to the point of being extremely difficult to break. I personally wouldn't like to test this, especially not with a £60 stick, and it does feel as though you can snap the stick in half. However, being made out of rubber, it is hopefully waterproof enough to survive the odd washing machine holiday and being dropped. If it can survive the sort of onslaught my 512MB Flash voyager has sustained then I expect that the ten year warranty Corsair provide will be up before I break it.
This stick is fast, It's certainly the fastest USB stick that I've used. Perhaps a little more streamlined to fit USB sticks in consecutive USB ports would be nice, but otherwise this is a bloody nice stick. I've not dropped it many times yet, and it's not been through my washing machine yet, but if it holds up as well as its older brothers it should...

A Voyage into the Unknown
Review of BT Voyager 1020 by
mornev
Advantages: Forever on
Disadvantages: Installing is like a bad dream
...If you want to read an expert critique and very technical description of the BT Voyager 2000, complete with images and diagrams, then I suggest you visit http://www.adslguide.org.uk/hardware/reviews/2003/q3/bt-2000.asp first and then return here to read a complete layperson's experience of installing, configuring and running this wireless ADSL modem, the aim being to home network two computers in order to share broadband access, printers, files and folders. Considering the problems I encountered installing and setting up BT Broadband on my new computer using Windows XP I should in hindsight have left well alone, but my partner was so impressed with the speedy broadband connection and my new computer that he immediately bought himself a new computer as he wanted to join in the fun. We balanced the cost of a second phone line...

Star Trek Voyager
Review of Sci-Fi - Star Trek Voyager: Ashes To Ashes by
real_rob_writer
Advantages: Mosr of it
Disadvantages: Not a lot
...Voyager may have stopped production now, but how does the 4th series with the great Star Trek name comapre?
Based on a new spaceship design, the intrepid class 'Voyager' (NCC 74656) is the pride of Starfleet, until it disappears that is. After a battle Voyager finds itself flung 70,000 light years across the galaxy to the Delta Quadrant, with the only way to get home is a 70 year trip through space. So they set off on their journey, and naturally meet a whole host of creatures and cultures on the way. (And just in case anyone cares, the maximum speed warp is 9.975).
Of course, the fact that Voyager is stranded in un-charted space mean that the script writers have an open book. They are not bounded by rules that would come with the well known space that the Federation, klingons etc inhabit. New aliens could be created for the show...
