Heroes from my hero
Review of Cadbury Miniature Heroes by
SusanLesley
Advantages: Small bite sized bits of heaven
Disadvantages: The calories but don't think about that!
....
FUSE
This one is a mixture of raisins and fudge covered in Cadburys milk chocolate and is very tasty even though it isn’t one of my particular favourites.
FUDGE
This is basically a tiny replica of the famous ‘Finger of Fudge’ and again is more enjoyable for being small as the whole bar is a it much. The main problem with this one is that it tends to stick to me teeth!
As Bugs Bunny would say – ‘That’s All Folks!’
I try to ignore the following information, I know chocolate is fattening, I don’t need to read the calorie values on the wrappers, but if you really want to know this is the awful truth about Miniature Heroes.
Each 100g contains the following:
Calories 490 (ooer!)
Protein 5.6g
Carbohydrate 59.2g
Fat 25.6g
Obviously this is a generalisation and some of the sweets will be more fattening than others...

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE HERO
Review of Miniature Heroes by
happygoluckygirl
Advantages: Lots of your favourites in one box
Disadvantages: Calories
...are faced with a hazelnut inside.
Timeout
This is two layers of wafter with a filling of chocolate then covered in in smooth Cadbury's chocolate.
Crunchie Bite
I have never been too keen on Crunchie but will eat it if there is nothing else around. It's a milk chocolate covered honeycomb sweet.
Picnic
Ok I have to tell you now I just don't like this one and when ever I have a box of miniature heros these are always left at the bottom of the box.
At first I was disappointed to find there was not a flake in the box, but I suppose the twirl made up for that.
So there you have it folks prices vary on these depending on where and what size of box you buy Tesco at the moment are selling 480g boxes for £3.18 or 2 for £5 this is a great deal for giving as gifts at Christmas or you can buy the 2.2kg tin for £9...

WHo says there's no more Heroes?
Review of Heroes OST - Various Artists by
Cubz
Advantages: An eclectic mix of past, present and future (groan)
Disadvantages: A little obvious and literal at times
...Who/What
There can't be many of you who don't know what Heroes is all about, you know, a group of ordinary folk who discover they have superpowers, Like, The Flying Senator or PsyBearCop, not to mention The Radioactive Widower and The Indestructible Cheerleader. Sadly, it is not this bunch of differently-abled misfits who've released this album, but other people…people who have the power of music…
Highlights
Flicking through the names of the artists involved reads like a who's who at a music festival, with Deathcab For Cutie, Panic! At The Disco and Bob Dylan contributing tracks along with lesser-known but just as vibrant New Pornographers and Nada Surf flinging their chords about. It does make a change to be listening to them without having to watch as people stop time, walk through walls, break their necks and regenerate...

Experience korean folk history
Review of Korean Folk Village (South Korea) by
Oblivious
Advantages: Living museum, shows, lots to see, well laid out
Disadvantages: Long way from Seoul, outdoor so not good in bad weather
...The Korean Folk Village is near Suwon and Yonging, on the outskirts of Seoul.
The easiest way to get there from Seoul (and other cities) is to go to Suwon Station.
From Seoul you can go by subway from Seoul Station or City Hall, Line 1
cost: 1200W (about 60p)
time: 60 minutes
Just outside Suwon Station is a tourist information booth who can point you across the street to the ticket office for the folk village.
From here you can buy your entrance tickets to the Folk Village and take the shuttle bus.
It takes about 30 minutes from Suwon.
The entrance to just the folk museum is about 11 000W (adult) (about £6), you can pay extra for the small theme park and folk museum.
Once inside the folk village be sure to pick up a map - it's very helpful and offers suggested routes around the folk village.
It also gives you...

There's nowt as queer as folk
Review of Queer As Folk (Wide Screen) by
essbee
Advantages: From start to finish I loved every second
Disadvantages: Why did it have to end?
...Cast: Aiden Gillen (The Wire, PhotoFinish), Craig Kelly (Titanic, When Saturday Comes), Charlie Hunnam (Cold Mountain, Abandon)
Directed by: Sarah Harding (Clocking Off, Reckless), Charles McDougall (Wonderland, Cracker)
Rated: Not really suitable for people under 18 but if they are open minded I reckon let them decide
Plot:
When Queer as Folk was first shown on TV the critics went wild! Sex, Gay sex at that not to mention underage sex, Drugs, Drinking! In England! Cant happen! But it did and boy did it!
Queer as Folk is based on a group of people living it up in Gay Manchester and what happens as they live their lives to the fullest.
The writting of the series was absolutely exceptional so people soon switched their attentions from the naked gorgeous men to what they were actually discussing. Well most people...

Folk fest or money maker
Review of Cambridge Folk Festival by
glitterysister
Advantages: Great bands, Varied programme
Disadvantages: Too many rules
...I didn't realise that you could review folk festivals, God now i'm gonna review all of them!!! I am a northern lass and I visted Cambridge folk festival for the first time last year as a young fairly northern band had won the oppertunity to play there on the Radio Two young tradition awards. I wasn't happy with it as a festival because unlike the normal festivals I go to it was very impersonal and commerical. For example I do realise that food is expensive on site everywhere but i think just under £5 for a plate is absolutely crazy. Probably what i found most annoying was that you had to take a bus journey from the campsite to the festival site as the campsite on site was realtively small and you had to pay. And once you where on the other site you had to camp where you were told and not near your friends. I think with all...

Bunratty Castle and Folk Park
Review of Bunratty FolkPark by
bostonianbeer
Advantages: Too many to number
Disadvantages: Never enough time
...Bunratty Castle and the Folk Park is a visit not to miss whatever your age. We spent 3 hours looking around the Castle and the grounds and could have spent longer there but we had only a few days over in Ireland.
We arrived at the Castle ready for the opening time and there where already 2 coached in the car park and a few cars. As we left the bus park had 15 coaches and the car park was full. We were so pleased that we arrived early as walking around the castle on the small winding steps would have been difficult with a lot of people there.
You enter the Folk Park and start your tour with No.1, Loop Head House, this is a thatched house that has had the thatch roped down to protect against the Atlantic gales, as it is a small fisher/farming house. Inside there is a lady dressed in the clothes of the time telling you about...

queer as folk? u dont hav 2 be!
Review of Channel 4 - Queer As Folk by
memmalump
Advantages: Gripper
Disadvantages: It's finished!
...A friend showed me the first episode of Queer As Folk Last Year.
I was Shocked! It was first time I'd seen the perspectives of homosexuals. I found it gripping- I had to watch it every week- it was like a drug and evry week I tuned in- It seemed like I was living for the moment it began! When the second series began I thought all my Sundays had come at once.
You don't have to be gay to watch this- Gives you the reality of the world around us. I have all the videos, CDs and books- so if u want to be streetwise see this program!...

Back in the old days of folk music...
Review of Pieces Of You - Jewel (Folk Rock) by
mattC
Advantages: High quality, slow burning album
Disadvantages: Not lively enough for some
...About 5% of people I've ever spoken to are a fan of or have heard of Jewel. Which is a shame, because she is exremely talented, and has become one of my favourite artists over the past year.
I do seem to have got into this habit of writing opinions on lesser known, completely underratted female singers (see reviews of Jewel, Heather Nova), so if you know anymore out there, let me know!
This is Jewel's first album, and is probably her most heartfelt and raw. Released back in 94/95, it is based on the acoustic set that she toured up and down America's west coast at the beginning of her career. The album eventually sold massively in the U.S. but was virtually unnoticed over here.
This album is totally acoustic, and folked up to the eyeballs. Some tracks are just Jewel and her guitar, letting the emotion in her voice cut through...

You can be my hero baby.....
Review of Top Ten Life Hero's by
chrisyboy
Advantages: Someone who inspires you!
Disadvantages: None
...A hero has many definitions. It can mean superhero such as Spiderman or batman, or it can mean other things. The meaning to me of a hero is more than just a fictional hero who saves lives; it’s the real people who do achieve unbelievable things. It's the people who never lose hope and always achieve their goal even if the odds are so highly stacked against them and it's if they never lose hope and always keep faith and look to there goal which all the hope and will they've got, so here are my top ten heroes.
Kelly Holmes
------------------
The women from Kent stunned us all when she did the unthinkable. She started running when she was 14 and 20 years later she achieved her goal...twice, she won an Olympic gold medal. She had been plagued with injuries and has had trouble getting into the team and running but her determination...
