Reviews of garments
One spurt = one big smile
Review of Home-Tek HT 611 Garment Steamer Travel by
Lunar_see
Advantages: Easy to use, excellent crease removal, lightweight
Disadvantages: None
...is creased and is need of ironing, so it was time to test out this trusted travel iron. Taking out from the accompanying travel pouch the first thing you notice is the shape which I previously mentioned was similar to an old joystick, the difference however is that the handle on this iron is rubber coated and it rotates to allow to you steam your items vertically as well as horizontally. The bottom plate of this iron is stainless steel and comprises of a translucent water tank which gives out a very generous amount of steam, it is almost as powerful as my steam iron back home. Finally with this iron is the removable garment brush which I didn't use because I didn't have the need too, but I am told it comes in very useful for those harder to iron clothes and my colleague uses it on her curtains and sofa and also acts a lint brush to remove stray...

Sensual Ironing
Review of Tefal Integral Iron by
assethound
Advantages: Glides smoothly, can iron delicates using steam, good performance on a wide range of fabrics
Disadvantages: Could be too expensive for some
...Care Labelling, devised a language independent care labelling system. The GINTEX care labelling system uses five symbols; the washtub (washing in water), the triangle (chlorine based bleaching), the iron (ironing and pressing), the circle (dry cleaning), and the circle within a square (tumble drying). You will have seen these symbols on most of the garments you have worn or bought. The GINETEX symbols are the only ones you will see in garments produced for sale in Europe.
The one that relates to ironing is a simple image of an iron. The iron will either contain one or more dots, or will have the St Andrews cross superimposed over it, which indicates that the item should not be ironed.
An iron with 1 dot - iron at a maximum sole plate temperature of 110c (steam iron may be risky)
An iron with 2 dots - iron at a maximum sole plate...

FAT FACE - the clothing not me!
Review of Fatface by
twinkle100200
Advantages: great casual clothing, good quality
Disadvantages: some items can seem expensive
...opened in Fulham, London when the business outgrew their rucksack I guess & the rest, as they say, is history!
There are three ways of buying Fat face clothing -
1. Shops
2. Website
3. catalogue
...Shops...
I like the shops, they make you feel hip & trendy (even though your not!) the music is good, the clothes are well laid out, lighting is good so you can actually see the garments (I hate dark & dingy shops) and they are quite good at mixing garments as to what goes with what (great for you colour blind people out there). I have also always found the assistants to be very helpful in finding sizes and giving advice (although one guy said my bum looked good in a certain pair of trousers and they were clearly much too tight!! - I did wonder then if he was on commission!).
...website...
Go to www.fatface.co.uk, the site is great...

Great personalised clothing at reasonable prices
Review of tshirtstudio.com by
laramax
Advantages: Easy site to use to design your own clothing
Disadvantages: Limited choice of colours
...Ever wanted a t shirt or sweatshirt to your own design without paying the earth for it? Does your club or organisation need team shirts? There are dozens of companies offering t shirts but from my experience TShirt Studio is one of the best ones around and I have looked at quite a lot - they don't just do t shirts, they do sweatshirts and polo shirts plus a few other things besides.
What makes them different to other companies?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well first for me is the fact they do specialise in clothing - many other companies in this field are primarily photographic printers with a range of general items for sale who include a t shirt just because they can. TShirt studio deal primarily in clothing with a just a few gifts as add ons to their range.
Secondly they offer a wide choice of garments...
I look naked in my underwear....
Review of Splendour.com by
joannahudson
Advantages: Quality and value, beautiful designs, easy to use website, quick and cheap delivery
Disadvantages: Not much choice for the big or smaller busted ladies
..., who displays the garments on the site.
I first found this site several months ago, when going on one of many searches for cheap, sexy lingerie (not an easy task I can tell you). The underwear at Splendour is not cheap, so I didn’t order anything from them at first, but I did add myself to their mailing list so that I would hear of any special offers or sales on the site.
I was in love with the range of lingerie as soon as I laid eyes on it. The fabrics looked lush, made with French lace, satin and silk. I would have been in heaven – if I could just afford the prices!
The prices are not extortionate, and in comparison to labels such as La Perla or Rigby and Peller, they are very reasonable. The bras cost between £20 - £30 each and the thongs and briefs are £15 each. However, with my rather embarrassingly poor bank...
Knitting - It's a Tension Thing
Review of Member Advice on Hand Made Crafts by
Sally3
Advantages: Creative, relieves stress, cheap, for anyone!
Disadvantages: Could be addictive....!
...produced jumpers, jackets, hats, scarves and toys for family, friends and later, my own children.
About 10 years ago, I was looking for a way to earn a bit of extra dosh and realised I could turn my hobby into a commodity. I found myself designing and knitting up garments on commission – all my work was from word-of-mouth. It’s a very labour intensive way to earn a few pounds, but I loved the satisfaction of producing unique garments. I haven’t done any paid work for a few years as I just don’t have the time anymore. Now, it’s purely for fun!
For me, knitting is the ultimate in creativity. There are so many yarns, fabrics, colours and stitch patterns to work with, and it’s wonderful to let my imagination loose on them all. I get a real kick out of touching and working with the yarns – it’s...
