Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s
Review of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 Tyre by
Hsaxo
Advantages: Lots of grip, good in all conditions including wet and dry
Disadvantages: Slightly pricey, Can pull car around a bit on rough road
...I purchased some Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 for my Citroen Saxo VTS around about November time last year after being recommend them on various car discussion forums, by people who use their cars for both road and track driving, I had never tried the Goodyear brand before this so thought I would see what they were like on my Citroen Saxo VTS it wasn't really needing new tyres at the time but I wanted a high performance brand tyre to suit my driving needs. I never though of Goodyear as on of the leading brands but now I have tried these I feel they are on their way up in the world of tyres and I will now be a returning customer of theirs for all of the cars I own.
4 months on I could not be any happier with Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 tyres and will definitely be using this brand or another Goodyear manufactured performance tyre if this product...

FST AUTOMOTIVE FORD SPECIALIST SCUNTHORPE
Review of Ford by
NICKP1979
Advantages: FAST SERVICE QUALITY SERVICE QUALITY PRODUCTS HELPFULL
Disadvantages: NONE
...Today after finding out my local ford dealer is near useless on every level I found out why!
It would seem that any of there staff with anything about them have left and joined a company on East Common Lane in Scunthorpe called FST AUTOMOTIVE.
This is as I was told a new company mainly catering for ford and I have to say the service is exceptional
These guys really know what there doing with there Fords and I have since found out they have Ford trained mechanics on site.
I own a 2005 Ford Mondeo ST and I wanted a pair of wiper blades, oil & filter change & a pair of front tyres.
The guys at FST Automotive really looked after me and the oil & filter change only cost me £35.00 a price that I thought was very very reasonable.
The wipers cost £15.00 for the front pair and my tyres cost just over £210 for a pair of Goodyear eagle f1 225...

Bella Alfa Romeo
Review of Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 Twin Spark Lusso 5dr by
mikegipson
Advantages: Great to drive and look at. Reliable and well built.
Disadvantages: Insurance can be pricey with some companies.
...Well I purchased the 147 2.0 Lusso last July (2003), brand new, from one of the many car supermarkets. It was just £13500 and has everything from the 17" supersports Alloys to Leather interior, sunroof as well as the comfort pact and winter pack. I saved around £6000 on the UK retail price and therefore should protect myself from any early depreciation.
Should you buy this car? Well YES it drives like it is on rails and the ride is still smooth considering it's on the wide 17" low profile tyres. Mine came with Goodyear F1 Eagle tyre which give excellent grip. I have had no problems and the first 12000mile service was done by my Alfa dealer in Amersham for a very reasonable £150. Average fuel consumption is 33-35MPG. It holds a decent amount in the boot, as shown by a recent holiday with the Inlaws and in our previous 1.6Lusso (which...

Second time around and still having fun.
Review of Mazda MX5 1.8i by
gazereth
Advantages: Great fun on a budget, hold their value and great reliability
Disadvantages: Common car, also look at pro's and con's of buying an import model!
..., never a fan of taking cars to main dealers as when I service my car I make sure that it is done correctly, i.e. I actually change the oil, not just give it a quick eye balling!! If you do decide to do any work yourself, apart from it being low to the ground it is fairly easy to get to the sump plug, or jack it to change pads etc. I have also found a dealer doing Goodyear Eagle F1's for £45 fitted, so screeching the tyres around tight corners doesn't make me cringe at the impending expense, after all, these cars fly around country roads and corner extremely well.
Day to day use has been a lot better than expected. I have a 240 mile commute to work which takes approx 4 hours. I am 6' 4" tall and can cope with the journey in one stint in comfort even if a little confined! I can also manage 10 pence per mile petrol expense on motorways...

Type-R packs a punch
Review of Honda Civic Type R by
larabulford
Advantages: Gearbox, i-VTEC Zone, Handling, Performance
Disadvantages: Economy but it's dependant on your right foot!
...but perhaps at the expense of the following -
overall comfort ( well it is a racing machine!)
sound deadening
long journey sanity!
ultimately this is a racer, a high quality well priced racer. don't expect to be cosseted in luxury, it is a racer.
tips - change the Bridgestome Potenza's, they are awful in the wet, Yokohama's so far are the best on this car, closely followed by Goodyear Eagle F1's
If you are buying secondhand and it is within the 3yr warranty, take it in to the garage and ensure they have fulfilled the upgrade obligations on the rear end supension set up and the steering rack, these are prone to taking a battering and Honda have upgraded them.
to summarise, expect good residuals, low fuel economy ( you can't resist the i-VTEC zone) regular tyre changes and a smile, oh that smile....

SCOOOOOBY DUBBBA RUUUUU
Review of Subaru Impreza 2.0 WRX by
Imaspecialboy
Advantages: HANDELS LIKE ITS ON RAILS (NOT IN THE WET AS I FOUND OUT!)
Disadvantages: ONLY LOOKS GOOD IN BLUE
...to do it 3 right!
starting by remapping the ECU "chipping" it should see you breaking the 300bhp mark! pair this with an induction kit as the icing on the cake :)
*Alloys
The geeky boffins at subaru probably spent more than a few sleepless nights figuring what diameter would give the best results which is 16" by the way your probably thinking your skate board has bigger rims right?!
anything over 17" is going to to make it handle like a boat!
*Tyres
As far as tyres go goodyear eagle f1s are just about right (they need warming up a little longer but are stickyer than your little brothers playboy on the corners
*Suspension
what could be sweeter than the standard set up its just not worth messing with!
N.B.... Dont forget to upgrade oil seals with enigine mods cause they blow for a past time
Style
Everyones always going on about how...

The Beauty and the Beast
Review of Jaguar X-Type 3.0 by
starmanx
Advantages: Stylish,reliable eye-catching,confortable
Disadvantages: difficult to park without park-aid system
...It is very different for the past models produced by Jaguar.
It is the first of Jaguar's "New style" cars, and it did come out very well in my opinion.I own a 2002 X-type 3.0 Sport.I bough it in 2004 from Jaguar itself( Ex-demo), and the car had 7000 miles on the dashboard. The model i onw has upgraded supensions ( sport ) .The car respond well to any unforseen circumstances on the road , it has no probmes in wet or frozen roads, probably due to the 4WD traction. Aderence is quite high with standard Pirelli P Zero 225/45 R17 , but i prefer more wet-oriented tyres like Goodyear F1 ,they last less but they transmit a better feeling. It is a perfect car for medium/long distance runs, where the versatility of the 3.0 liter engine, the well rifinite interiors, and the overall cabin space are more apreciated. The fuel consumption is very...

I'M IN THE NEED, THE NEED FOR SPEED!
Review of Peugeot 206 GTi 2.0 16v 3dr by
mdstone
Advantages: Great performance for a great price
Disadvantages: More expensive to run than a standard 206
...!
The power steering on the GTi obviously makes it easy to handle, especially when going round corners but by having low profile tyres with alloys, the car tends to follow the road more vigorously which can sometimes pull you into uneven surfaces but this is normal. The GTi grips the road much better than my previous 206 but this could be largely down to the Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres.
One thing I would suggest when filling up with petrol is that you don't go to your local supermarket as the performance difference is very noticeable. Shifting through lower gears quickly, whilst accelerating seems to be a much tougher job. Whether this is due to it being watered down or just having a lower Octane amount I don't know but you can certainly feel the difference. This is no exaggeration, as when you fill the car with Esso, Shell or BP petrol...

F1 2000 On Pole!
Review of F1 2000 (PC) by
Garza007
Advantages: Very realistic
Disadvantages: A bit addictive
...F1 2000 is a very good and realistic game based on the motor sport Formula 1.
The graphics are superb and the cars actially look like F1 cars... unlike other F1 games where they look like a pointed box with 4 wheels.
The gameplay is superb and every is so real... the cars, background, pitlane, gameplay and you actually feel like you're driving a F1 car.
F1 2000 is definetly a very good game and you should definetly try this game out, but once you've started playing I bet you wouldn't want to stop playing because F1 2000 can be very addictive for some......

Avon ZV-1s - Sticky When Wet
Review of Avon Tyres by
LegendaryMrDude
Advantages: Price, wet performance, looks(!?)
Disadvantages: Noise, high-speed performance
...It had to happen sooner or later. In 6 years of driving, I'd not experienced a single puncture. So, in accordance with Sod's Law, it had to happen at the start of a 150 mile run up to Lincoln. I could have used the spare, but didn't fancy a 300 mile round-trip on a dreaded "space-saver" wheel so I needed to find somewhere that would fit (and balance) a new pair of front tyres.
I ended up in a conveniently located branch of ATS only a few hundred yards from where the screw went through my tyre (a Goodyear Eagle which was getting worryingly close to the tyre-wear-indicator anyway). To cut a long story short, the screw had gone through the tyre close enough to the tyre-wall that it was not considered a suitable candidate for repair. The only tyre they had in my fitting (195/55 R15)) was either a Michelin or an Avon. Having heard some poor...
