...Green Day is a hugely successful band hailing from Oakland, California. Their latest album, American Idiot has sold well over 15 million copies and has propelled the band to an even higher level of fame than any other band in the punk rock genre (in modern times anyway). ****History**** -A Start In 1986 a young Billie Joe Armstrong (Guitar/Vocals) got a guitar for christmas of his mother, he still plays with this guitar to this very day! Infact if you ever see Green Day live you're likely to see it at some stage, it's sky blue and has 'B J' scrawled on the side. ...I first heard this on MTV’s The Leak, a section of their web page where they preview an album in its entirety the week prior to its official release. Not being one to really take notice of MTV, it took pure luck to come across it, but being the huge Green Day fan that I am, I had to spoil it for myself and have a listen. So, as the tracks went by, my heart raced faster with every minute, listening to the finest music that Green Day have ever made. With the exception of ‘Basket Case’ and ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’, this could easily be Green Day’s very own greatest hits. Being from the UK, it was released a day earlier here than in the US, giving me full opportunity to listen …. and listen …… and listen, before most other people had the chance. Advantages: Some terrific tracks are included in this collection.
Disadvantages: The two new tracks recorded for this release are not very good.

...over the years. Such energy is contained within these two, the pop punk music of this band comes through incredibly well here and never does the music disappoint. The guitar riffs are always excellent and the vocals of Billie Joe Armstrong come through sensationally well. 'Dookie' is not my favourite Green Day album, it does however feature a number of excellent tracks and those that are featured here are all well worth listening to I feel. 'J.A.R. (Jason Andrew Relva)' is included here which featured in the Patrick Read Johnson directed 1995 film 'Angus'. This is by no means one of the best songs to have been recorded by Green Day, it is however well worth its place on this album and it a track that is put across well by the band.
