...Last year people were complaining about the so-called community spirit on Dooyoo (or rather their interpretation of it), and how it could be improved. One idea that kept cropping up in suggestions was the use of a guest book, but Dooyoo were in no shape to supply such a thing at this time due to commitments to their brand spanking new back end system called Aurora ("Coming soon to a consumer website near you!"). [Having seen "Aurora" in action (snigger), there's certainly some spanking to be done, and not in the good way, either!] One member in a fit of boredom posted a message on OpCom [old forum dealing with Dooyoo primarily, but now sadly defunct], telling us all how he'd coded a small application which enabled people to read random Dooyoo opinions. ...they have a night porter. The rooms are non-smoking but there is a sitting room for smokers with a television and book shelves, books can be borrowed by guests or swapped for one of your own. There is a nice dining room, breakfast is from 8am until 10 am. There is a choice of: Cereal and on the tables is orange juice. Then you can have: egg, bacon, black & white pudding, beans, sausage. or any of the above in any combination you like. Or boiled eggs, scrambled eggs or beans on toast. A toast basket is also provided with white toast and brown irish bread. There is plenty of butter and jams and marmalades on the tables and tea & coffee is available. .... There was also an en suite with a toilet and shower. The breakfast was served downstairs in a dining room. There is the option of a fully booked breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes or beans or mushrooms. This also includes cereal and toast. The other option is a continental breakfast which was a little disappointing. The cooked breakfast was a standard English Breakfast, pretty much what you would expect, but nothing exceptional. The continental breakfast was simply white toast with a range or spreads (marmite, jam, honey and marmalade) and a choice of several cereals. I would've expected some fruit but this was not served. Also during the weekend breakfast was served between 7.30-9am, I would've expected them to serve breakfast a little later, say until 10am. ...for the hotel and a reminder of the policies. I arrived at the hotel, and wasn't too happy with the way I was treated there - this is of course not the fault of Booking.com. However, after speaking to Booking.com Customer Services I was absolutely gobsmacked with the excellent service I received. Their team really helped put my mind at ease and communicated with the hotel to resolve the issues. Another great thing about Booking.com is that they display guest reviews on their website. These are impartial, and display both the good and bad comments from guests. These can be really helpful when deciding which hotel to book. The level of service I received from Booking.com, in comparison to some of their competitors has been outstanding, and cannot be faulted. I would encourage anyone to check out their website. ...This is a list of my 10 worst dinner guests and why. Oh and by the way, I know that technically there are more than ten, but tough!!!! So in no particular order……… 1. David and Victoria Beckham. Am I the only one who doesn’t get it when it comes to these two? She’s a really bad singer who loves herself a bit too much, and will bitch about anyone in spitting distance, and he is an overrated footballer, who for some unknown reason women find attractive. WHY? He’s minging (for want of a better word), and he dresses like a girl, and don’t get me started on his hair. 2. Jodie Marsh Every time you open the paper there she is falling out of some club or bitching about Jordan. ...a birthday party. It has the same border as the “Getting on the move” page. It asks for a photograph of the birthday guests and their names. Also, there’s a chart where you can write what the child got and who they were from. There’s a big space in the top left hand corner where you can place the child’s first photograph of them one year old. It asks for the weight and how long they were. I will stop there for now but there’s still is a lot more in the book which I will continue in due course. I wouldn’t like to think I was going on, but if you like, I will update this review with the rest of the pages. ...The 7th Guest is an excellent adventure/horror/puzzle game for the PC. It is set in an old creepy mansion belonging to a deceased deranged toymaker. Gameplay involves working your way around the mansion, discovering rooms, clues and solving fiendish mind puzzles in order to eventually discover the secret of the old house. The navigation graphics are a bit juddery but the content and detail of the game is quite impressive. There are also a certain number of chances to have puzzles solved for you if you get completely stuck and can't continue any further.
