...Wow! Well, as I write this, I have only been home from Greece for four days and although am now back into the boring old routine and miserable weather, I still can't help but feel relaxed and refreshed after a spectacular Greek Odyssey all of my own! My partner and I stayed in a small town called Pefkohori which is in Halkidiki, on the Kassandra peninsula. Halkidiki basically consists of a three prong peninsula, a little like a trident that sticks out of Greece! The other two peninsulas being Sithonia and Athos. Pefkohori is absolutely stunning. It is a small town which seems to have more of the local people around than actual tourists which is a nice, refreshing change. Advantages: Gorgeous weather, fantastic people, great scenery

...My boyfriend and I wanted a cheap holiday - a week in the sun where we could relax and do not a lot basically! We booked an internet deal through Thompson Holidays for £190 each (incl. flights, transfers and accomodation) for a week in Self Catering appartments. Our flights were from Birmingham to Thessaloniki (which is the nearest airport to Halkidiki). The flight took around 3 hours and we then had an hour and a half transfer from the airport to our resort - Fourka. Halkidiki is split into three penisulars, Kassandra, Sithonia and Mount Athos. These are near the north of main land Greece and are surrounded by the Aegean Sea. Kassandra and Sithonia are supposed to be the livliest of the three, although they are not busy or crowded. ...I went on holiday to Halkidiki in July 2003. WHERE I STAYED: I stayed in Kriopigi, at Krassa Anasacia studios which are rooms only. Very clean and really nice people work there, cleaners everyday and immaculate. You have to share 2 swimming pools with the studios below and above you, which are right by you anyway! The main part of town was just around the corner where there were lots of bars, restaurants and shops, also moped and car hire places. I would reccomend to couples only. THE BEACH The beaches there are unbelievable! gorgeous white sand, clear blue sea and really quiet and peaceful! THE BEACH WAS JUST DOWN THE ROAD BUT BECAUSE IT IS A HILL, THERE WAS A FREE BUS GOING UP AND DOWN ALL DAY! RESTAURANTS I loved the food over there, it was really cheap, restaurants are very clean and the Greek people dont try... Read review

...I went on holiday in Greece with my friend last year to different place then i usually go.We went to Halkidiki. We booked our holidays through Polish agency as its much cheaper but not much convenient when you book last minute. I mean i had to go to Poland to go to Greece it was a long trip but i survived.We landed in Kavala and transfer to the hotel took about 2.45min.By the end of the evening i was really tired.Theoxenia is 4* hotel and is very nice.Rooms are in good size at least our was and was clean.We were on half board basis so we had breakfast and supper all buffet style. I must say the food is very good. Breakfast was always the same, eggs,jam,bread,ham,cereal,Greek yogurt and other things but what else can you expect? ...I went to Halkidiki this August with my cousin for a week. It ws very different to what i had expected. This is because i expected Halkidiki to be full of people who just want to go out and have a good time. However, there wasn't just those types of people, there were also couples with children, young couples, party people, old people and many more. There was literally every category of people that you can imagine. Halkidiki is an area to the north of mainland Greece. It has miles of gorgeous sandy beaches, fantastic hotels, brilliant nightclubs and much more. Halkidiki is split into three peninsulas each offering unique experiences. ...Earlier this year, June to be precise, I went on holiday to Halkidiki, Greece, with my family. It was a big family trip, including my Mum and Dad, myself and my son Alex, My sister Caradawn, her boyfriend and my gorgeous niece Angel! We had a glorious 2 weeks in the sunshine, including many days lazing on the beach, going on day trips and plenty of snorkeling off the beach. However, for some of us there had to be a little scuba diving! Soon after we arrived, I looked around for dive centres. I didn't want to miss the opportunity to dive somewhere different from the Caribbean. I am not brave enough to dive in England yet! We found the Triton dive centre, who had outlets in our resort and the next resort down. They are based in the town of Paliouri. ...Hotel Nostos is situated just outside the small town of kalithea on the halkidiki peninsular of mainland greece. My wife and I visited this hotel for our honeymoon (my first time abroad) and were pleasantly surprised by how nice it really was. The hotel itself is not very large but makes up for it in a big way with the service, the site is run by a family (two generations at least) with the wife of the son being English, all the staff are very friendly and more then happy to engage in conversation with the customers, even those that do not speak very good English. Everything about the place is immaculate from the the rooms which a bright spacious and airy to the garden area/poolside and the bar/restaurant, the pool itself was also very clan and welcoming. ...My family and I stopped at these apartments for two weeks in July 2008. Niriides Apartments are situated in the resort of Hanioti in Halkidiki, Greece. They are self-catering apartments but there is also a choice to select bed and breakfast if you wish. THE COMPLEX There is a total of 18 apartments, all of which sleep up to four people. When we got off the coach at around 4:00pm, we were greeted at the gate by a very friendly Magda, who is the daughter of the family who run the place. We were shown where the lift was so we could carry our cases up to reception, which is located on the second floor. We were given our key and shown to our room.
