...Looking through the umpteen titles of family films, I was amazed that nobody has mentioned Hans Christian Andersen. Certainly it is the one that stands out in my childhood memories and I wonder how many modern mums still sing the song of the Ugly Duckling to their children or read them the tale of The Red Shoes. Made in l952 the film has retained a childlike innocence with Danny Kaye playing the part of Andersen to perfection, indeed I was surprised when I saw a painting of Hans Christian Andersen to see just how alike the two are. The film is not meant to be a biography, but is merely a fairy tale about a storyteller. Colourful costumes and fantasy backlots set the first scene with Hans the cobbler, singing merrily to the children of Odense who are so enthralled by his tales that they skip school. ...think about trying to take a picture with flash now because it wont work. 2 mins later the battery bar will read full again, then 1 again, then full, very annoying. 6.6 megapixel?? NOOOO more like 2.0. The quality is terrible, godness knows why it has 6.6 megapixel written on the back (although its good for showing your friends that you have a 6.6, if its written on the back it must be true!.. hmm) The screen on the back is good, very clear picture. As for the camera its very bulky, looked ok a year ago, not now. I payed 50 odd pounds for this thinking I was getting a good quality camera, in future im sticking to well known brands, I wouldnt touch HanShing cameras again.... Read review

...After some adds of the 108Mbps capabilities of the DWL-G650 and DWL-520 cards I decided to buy one. Unlucky me! I received the DWL-G650+ and DWL-520+. Apparently, these are the versions D-Link reserves for out-side the US. Trying to upgrade to 108Mbps as promised in the adds was unsuccessful. I didn't even find any info on the G650+ cards on the .COM website. Mails to D-Link remained unanswered. After some research in the newsgroups, I found out the following : The DWL-G650+ and DWL-520+ are using a different chipset than the G650 (the "+" is very important). You will not find this info on the D-Link website because the "+" has two major implications : 1:because the G650+ uses a cheaper chipset (Motorola) it has currently no 108Mbps support as its bigger brother does (G650, no "+"). 2:because of this chipset it has a very... ...Of all the myriad forms of hardware components the graphics tablet is one of the least known and used and after my recent experiences I now know why this is so. When I went hunting for a graphics tablet to buy I was staggered by the total lack of choices. In the end after many hours of fruitless searching I finally came across the Nisis range of GT's. Initially I opted for their larger and more expensive product the G6 as I was under the mistaken impression that having a larger work surface would make life just that little bit simpler. When I picked up the GT I was confronted with a box about the same size as an extra large take-out pizza and believe me when I say that the GT took up about 95 % of the dimensions of the box. With the swivelling monitor, you can …for example….take a low level photo without having to get right down to it, by just lowering down the camera, and facing the monitor upwards, to view your shot. This saves you from having to struggle to get up from a low position.(and you know that can be a problem when you get older!!!!) Also, if you are taking a portrait of yourself, you can sit in front of the camera and see your self in the monitor. Well, I looked up the internet for info on Canon cameras with this feature…….there were many different models, but the one that caught my attention was the Canon Powershot G5. Advantages: Beautiful, small, rock solid, fast, quality construction, full of features, right there with the big boys on performance.

...These are my first impressions of the new SN41G2 V2.0. I had the Shuttle SN41G2 V1.0 Black Special Edition since last june. I loved is so much but it had some annoyances. Last week I managed to short circuit the motherboard which rendered the AGP and PCI slots useless, but strangely enough everything still works including the built-in graphics and I have been using it till this morning. I ordered the new SN41G2 V2.0 and got it this morning. I have to say that the first impression was that the silver colour looks much better that the old SN41G2. It looks more whiter if that makes sense. ...On the face of it, the PB G4 is awesome. I mean that in the least "college-kid" sense. It literally inspires awe! The aluminium casing is sheek and smooth. The whole unit is a masterpiece of design. The screen is beautifully bright and the keyboard illluminates with finesse and style. Hang on, isn't it a computer? This is my point. The PowerBook looks so good, it almost diguises the fact it isn't really a very good computer. I have owned mine now for nearly a year, since November 2005. Due to the nature of what I do, a mac is necessary and I was slightly pleased to actually be getting one. Although I'd saved long and hard, I thought it a worthwhile investment to put nearly £2000 on the table. However, I haven't had value for money.
