Holiday Inn Express (Glasgow) - Right in the Heart of the City Visitors to Glasgow will find this the perfect base from which to see the sights. It is next to the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre and virtually next door to the huge 7 floor UGC cinema. (This gets very busy in the evenings, so I would advise placing a booking earlier in the day.) The Burrell Collection is within walking distance. It's especially handy for a short city break when you don't have much time to travel from the hotel into the city centre. There is, however, less easy access to new visitor attractions... ...Holiday Inn Express at Glasgow Airport. Me and my girlfriend booked this hotel 3 weeks before hand and got a great rate of £55 for one night including full breakfast.We got the free airport bus from buchan bus station which takes to outside the main terminal at the airport .When we arrived we were amazed at how close it was actually to the main terminal of Glasgow Airport less than 2 minutes which was very handy for our morning departure.We checked in around 1630 and were told in detail the facility's , restaurant opening times , breakfast times and all check out details by two friendly staff receptionists one lady also helped us with the masses of luggage we had to the room. We were surprised with the quality of the hotel with it just being a budget hotel the entrance to the hotel resembles the same look in decor as any 4 or 5 star... Read review

...and they seemed to do the business and made the room smell rather nice instead of stuffy with an old smoke smell. (Well I can’t complain it’s me that smokes). The non-smoking rooms in this hotel are just the opposite, very nicely scented and the hallways all smell fresh and clean, even in the smoking corridor, which is a very big plus for this particular Holiday Inn Express. In comparison the Holiday Inn Express at Glasgow airport, stunk from the minute you got in till the minute you left, even the non-smoking corridors were pervaded with plumes of stinky smoke. Not a place you’d want to stay even as a smoker let alone as a non-smoker. The bedroom itself is small, but serves its purpose, the double bed is a decent size and the sofa bed has enough room to be put out and you can still move around the room. ...Recently we went to Salou on holiday and unfortunately we had to travel through to Glasgow for the flight rather than a 10 minute drive to Edinburgh. We realised that we needed to check in around 5am which would mean probably getting up at 3am, so we decided to book a hotel near the airport. Express by Holiday Inn seemed to be the best for families and at the same time allow us to have breakfast at 4am. The Hotel is easily seen from the M8 westbound and when you get to the roundabout rather than going to the airport take exit leading along towards the hotel. You go into a very busy car park and find a space. Then we unloaded the kids and all our lugagge and said goodbye to piccie for 8 days. The outside of the hotel is immaculate and there is not a spot of rubbish to be seen and it was a lovely hotel to look at with it... Read review

...My stay at the Express by Holiday Inn was absolutly great, I was welcomed by all members off staff as I arrived and they were all very friendly and very helpful. I was asked if there was anything I needed and if I would like a coffee and i was checking in. Even from the reception the hotl looked Lovely, it had a huge Lounge area where people were sitting down waitng for either their room's or a cab. The bar area is only small but when you want a qiuet drink its ideal, serving Alcoholic drinks, Soft drinks, Tea, Coffe and many more.From here I was standing at the reception desk I could also see a dining area where a few guest's were being served their breakfast. From the way things were looking I was really going to enjoy my stay here, even if it was only for one night. The Hotel itself has got 126 rooms on 4 levels...Ground, Level 1... Read review

...I was in Nashville for a classical music conference attended by more than 1000 delegates, so I was surprised that this Holiday Inn - one of the overflow hotels was listed as being only 2 star. I needn't have worried. It proved to be a more than adequate base for my stay and had some great plus points which to me puts it more in the 3 star level as far as we Brits grade hotels. I paid about £70 a night booked direct. The room was typical Holiday Inn Express, no frills, clean, basic furnishings, but with huge US tv and very comfy king size bed (better than in British Holiday Inns in my experience) usual things like hairdryer, ironing board, coffee/tea + kettle, free newspaper all OK. Why ------- We had tickets to Wicked and wanted a hotel close to the Apollo Victoria theatre (it was only a couple of tube stops). How Much -------------- We paid £119.00 for one night in a "triple" room. We booked this directly with Holiday Inn, because I am a priority club member, we did try to get travel agent discount, but we had no luck! First Impression ----------------------- From the Holiday Inn's website we were told that West Kensington was the closest tube station to the hotel; it was a good ten minute walk, with luggage.
