...This is a Latin American art film about child abduction. It promises a hot, sexy film, when you read the cover of the DVD but it fails to deliver. Carlos Reygadas's Battle In Heaven doesn't really have a conventional plot that develops as it goes along providing a beginning, a climax and a conclusion. It is more like a docu-drama in parts. The whole film is disturbing in its portrayal of modern day Mexico City. Marcos is a dim witted, absent-minded security guard and chauffer who has a permanently shell shocked, over stuffed look about him. ...! Dr Statham spends this series trying to win Joanna back as she's got bored of him in the previous series. Joanna continues her battle with feeling old and compensates by trying to get into the trousers of Landen (the hot sexy IT guy who in this series has a fling with the mother of four Harriet). Martin is a hopeless student who keeps failing his exams (a theme in the previous series) but finally gets a girlfriend with the likes of Karen. I really enjoyed these side stories, especially the affair between Harriet and Landen - there was something endearing about it. The interior is like a cockpit - controls front and center, left and right, with a molded seat that holds you in place. My only beef with the interior design is the odd choice to only include ONE drink holder. C'mon, with this hot sexy car, you don't think I'm ever going to have a date??? Keyless entry, security system, both of which work even when the top is down. The gas tank holds about 12 gallons. The engine, while only a 4 banger, has enough pickup to live up to its sporty exterior.
