...of this was quite frankly too much! We had a fantastic holiday when we finally got there and the hotel/resort was a great example of Kuoni's well selected destinations. It's just a shame that the whole experience was slightly ruined when we had to get back on one of these hideous Garuda flights for another 18 hours to get home! I'd definitely advise anyone to pay the extra hundred or so pounds to fly with an alternative airline, it makes such a big difference when flying long haul.... Read review

Advantages: paradise, slow paced, friendly people

...When you step off the plan onto the tarmac at Port Vila International Airport you realise instantly that there is a whole different world you are about to explore. On entering the airport building you are greeted by a group of musicians singing welcoming songs (even at 11:30 at night). The air is warm and the atmosphere friendly. The customs officers greet you with a big smile and even some happy small talk - a far cry from the reception at customs in Australia. Depending on your holiday package, a representative of the hotel/resort you are staying at will be awaiting your arrival, also with a big smile. You will be escorted in a car or mini bus, with your driver giving you all the information you need and more about the island. ...You either - Love it or hate it. Just like marmite! Cancun is well known for the place to be for spring break students for partying, clubbing..just letting oneself go. But there is so much more to Cancun than meets the eye. Obviously, when tourists think about taking a holiday, the first thing many do, is search high and low for the best hotel/resort. And yes, Cancun does offer a wide range of brilliant hotels and services in The Hotel Zone, which I'm sure is agreeable for many. However, The Hotel Zone, is like being in the Western World. Advantages: Grea hotel, beautiful pools, highly recommend

The hotel The hotel/resort is a lot larger than I originally realized, containing multiple different buildings and a maze of grounds and masses of facilities, all of a very high standard which offers traditional hospitable service, combined with the peaceful atmosphere and an ideal location. I would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing holiday. Not that I had one, I was in the hills cycling but more of that later. The bar lounge area is excessively large out of season (I was there in October) with only a few seats being filled. The leather or cane work settee's and seat are very comfortable with large elegant glasses tables. Each drink comes with a variety of biscuit or nibbles that are very tempting. ...be on the way. We unpacked and decided to check out the restaurant area. Got back to the room a couple of hours later, and still no fridge. Phoned the lobby and it arrived within 5 minutes. Our 'Welcome' package had every thing you could think off. Maps of the immediate area, and the whole Disney complex. A transportation guide/map explaining which free transport to take for each resort/park, and so much more. We got a bus to Pleasure Island and it was easy to find for our return trip. The same, the following day with Epcot. Just one thing to note, if you are going at peak times, you may have to stand in the bus. We did. Also if you want to go to another hotel/resort, you have to go to a theme park, and then pick up the bus to that resort. To me this would waste too much holiday time. More about the resort. Our room. Disadvantages: busy road cuts the hotel into two

...I have stayed in this hotel/resort twice in the last six months so feel I know it quite well. The first time being last October when we went for a two week stay, the second being last month for just a week. The hotel is a 3 star all inclusive Both times were booked through Thompson, but there were many tour operators represented there. The hotel is split into two halves, the superior rooms being located on the beach side and the other rooms being situated across the road. The beach side is a single building spanning 3 floors, with many rooms facing the beach. We stayed on the other side which is comprised of around 6 buildings spanning 2 or 3 floors all situated around the pool/bar area, quite like a small village.
