...HP's piano lacquer Pavilion design with subtle wave pattern, provides the laptop with a nice appearance and the silver keyboard deck looks sharp and sleek. The glossy black exterior however, is a fingerprint magnet, but HP provide a cleaning cloth to compensate for this. The only downside is that the mouse buttons are soft and squishy, not giving a firm 'click'. The 15.4-inch glossy widescreen is of the new, brighter variety, with better colour reproduction. The screen's 1280 x 800 pixel resolution makes for comfortable viewing on an LCD this size, however higher resolution would be preferred. Above the screen you'll find an integrated webcam, which at 640 x 480 pixels has a lower resolution than other models however does not work with Vista and HP have acknowledged this!!! ...I Currently own This laptop. Not Knowing much About Computers And thinking what am i missing out on with something basic? i upgraded to this HP Dv9000 laptop which have treated me tremendously. as i am a teenager at 16 years of age, i do like to have many stuff on my PC which i have 4000 songs a about 30 odd movies. files do not even get near to effecting the performance and reliability of this laptop. having great performance and onboard graphics which i can play games hassle/jump free. this is a comfortable laptop to have around you. either on messenger and typing, its hassle free and a dream. strong, reliable and fast laptop which is a fantastic laptop in my eyes. what more would you need? thanks lee... Disadvantages: Unfortunately this model doesnt have the HDMI which newer ones do.

...A value for money laptop. Good 17" widescreen, loads of memory 2GB, Good hard drive size and I have the AMD 64 AthlonX2 processor. All this combined gives reasonable speed for the cash paid. I use mainly for home use ie internet, word documents etc and it copes easily. The speakers are a little weak but this is to be expected. The laptop is also quite light and therefore confortable while sitting on your knees. As a previously mentioned the camera can be dodgy at times but if you dont use this facility like me its not of great concern. Its also good to keep the system updated with the with the HP updates and the Microsoft Vista updates. This will ensure stability and the most up to date security and drivers.... Read review

...come along this should do just fine. There's no floppy disk drive, although there is a memory card reader at the front that will handle all common card formats. The recordable DVD drive will write + and -R/RW discs as well as dual layer DVD+Rs, while there is also a second DVD drive. The case looks very neat and its good to have many of the features accessable from the front. Software includes Windows XP Home, WinDVD SE, WinDVD Creator and HP Image Zone. I've used this PC together with the HP pavilion f1723 monitor with great success, and would advise you to consider it if you are looking for a new PC.... Read review

...easier to use twiddle the knob clockwise volume up, anticlockwise.. you guessed volume down. Style: The monitor screen case is a dark blue with a matt silver front and hp v72 in dark blue lettering on it, the power light is the standard green which turns orange if there is no signal. There is a TCO 03 sticker too ! The speakers are dark blue with a shiny silver base and harmon/kardon in dark blue letters on the silver bit, the light is a vivid electric blue, nice. The plastic quality is OK but seems a little flimsy. It matches the HP pavilion desktop PC range and goes very well with my a404.uk. Price: I paid £130 for this monitor and it has yet to dissapoint me, I have owned a Hitachi monitor on which the brigtness and sharpness has gradually faded over time, so far this still is going strong.
