Imperial Palace
Review of Forbidden City (Imperial Palace), Beijing by
gaosha
Advantages: too many advantages
Disadvantages: some modern stuff break the environment
...This palace has buit in Qing Dynasdy, many Kings in Qing Dynasdy use to live in this palace. It has been rebuilt many times in order to showing for tourist. it is one of the most famouse attractions in Beijing and even China. Thousands of people go to visit the imperial palace everyday, it attracts lots of foreiners as well. From this palace, I have learned a lot of Chinese history, especially the Qing Dynasdy part. It located just in the middle of Changan road, not for from the shopping place, at the time I have been there, I went by underground, which cost only 3 yuan. I have been there 3 times, each time I was gaining different experience.
One interest thing is I find a starbucks in the imperial palace, it is not very good though, it break the whole environment at all. Because this palace is a very traditional structure, I think...

Not Caesars Palace, but a Palace in its own right
Review of Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas by
Rog13
Advantages: Good location, good facilities and good price
Disadvantages: Not great for sunbathing
...I had dreamed of visiting the entertainment and gambling capital of the world for many years, and not just through a desire to play poker in some of the world's greatest venues but to see one of the most mind-blowing cities imaginable.
Being brutally honest my partner and I only opted to stay at the Imperial Palace for our week-long trip because of the price, if money wasn't an option then the likes of The Venetian, Bellagio and Caesar's Palace would have been but some of the obvious choices.
Be that as it may I am glad we stayed where we did given the alternatives available on our budget.
The Imperial Palace is ideally located slap bang in the middle of the Las Vegas strip standing just a short walk away from the Mirage, Venetian, Bellagio, Aladin and Caesar's Palace.
Staying at the IP meant we were never too far away from...

Stay at the heart of the strip and meet the king!
Review of Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas by
LIZKEMPO
Advantages: Centre of the strip, cheap!
Disadvantages: Not really exciting like some of the other hotels.
...The Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino
The Imperial Palace is located at the heart of the strip in between Harrah's and the Flamingo and opposite Caesars Palace.
Price:
We booked our holiday as a package deal so I have been on the Internet searching around to find out what sort of price a night at the imperial palace would cost you, and this is what I have found out the rooms based on two people sharing start at $85 a night in the week but prices go up on Fridays and Saturdays so bare this in mind if you are staying over a weekend.
Rooms:
For our stay we had a standard twin room, this consisted of two double beds, Chester draws, small table and two chairs and a hanging rail in the main room and a small but decent bathroom complete with bath and power shower. The room was basic but adequate for our stay.
The Imperial...

Summer Palace, the way life was
Review of Summer Palace (Beijing) by
Writing321
Advantages: See the history, experience the wonder
Disadvantages: none
...Giggle, giggle, chattter, chatter and lots of pointing.
We were the centre of attraction for the hordes of little Chinese school children as they walked in orderly fashion around the Summer Palace, near Beijing in China.
This was the first time I realised we were foreigners in their country. The little ones, were very amused at our small party of three Kiwi's (New Zealanders) and they showed us in no uncertain terms that we were a bit of a rarity when we visited, to learn more about their Chinese rulers' way of life.
The Summer Palace is an attraction where being fit and able to walk long distances is definitely a bonus. It is spread out around huge Kunming Lake with the most beautiful ornamental 18-arch bridge, temples and palaces.
Hearing the names of the Summer Palace, Imperial Garden's features is enough to describe...

Sin City On A Budget
Review of Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas by
lilmsnaughty1979
Advantages: Cheap, Central Location, Clean
Disadvantages: Not Flash
...Sin City On A Budget
=
The Imperial Palace is not the biggest or boldest hotel an casino on the Las Vegas strip. Most people probably won't have even heard of it, it's not exactly iconic. However it does have two very redeeming features, location and price.
Ok, this isn't the Bellagio but let's face it who wants to spend all of their time in Vegas in their room when there's the opportunity to lose your money in any of the numerous and more famous casinos. You can just walk into any Casino in Vegas of course as they want your hard earned.
Our room was a reasonable size, was clean, not too noisy with the doors closed considering the chaos outside, it was especially busy when we stayed due to it being Memorial weekend. There was a TV that must have been there a long time as the picture was blurry. That really is all...

location location location
Review of Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas by
midas1
Advantages: location
Disadvantages: none
...Having been to Vegas now on three occasions i would recommend the Imperial Palace on two fronts, firstly location secondly price. Our first trip was a package deal which included rooms at the MGM Grand, which was good for a first time visitor but at the far end of the renowed "strip", and therefore quite a walk (the "strip" for those of you who have never been is 6 miles long) Whereas thje Imperial; Palace is bang smack in the middle thereby making it easier to walk from resort hotel to resort hotel.
The rooms at the Imperial palace are of standard fare, but we have always upgraded to a poolside room for two reasons
1/ you can simply walk up two flights of stairs to access them thereby missing out on the "slow" elevators
2/Your patio doors open out onto a private patio area right on the pool deck.
The price of these rooms vary...

Forbidden City, Beijing
Review of Forbidden City (Imperial Palace), Beijing by
chocomofo
Advantages: Beautiful, historical landmark of beijing
Disadvantages: it is sooo big! and probably wont get round to see it all
...The Forbidden City lies in the center of Beijing, it is called Gu Gong, in Chinese and was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Today it is known as the Palace Museum. It is the world's largest palace complex surrounded by a six meter deep moat and a ten meter high wall with thousands of buildings inside.
It is to the north of Tiananmen Square and is one amazing site to see! A portrait of the late leader Mao Zedong hangs above the HUGE gate into the city. Yellow is said to be the colour symbol of the royal family wihch is why it features alot within the city and all the roofs are yellow tiled.
It is a vast area to visit and you would need at least 2 hours to be able to appreciate it for what it is. When i visited it in June i was blown away by the size and complexity of the buildings within, they are just stunning...

Is this really a 4 Star hotel?
Review of Safir Imperial Palace, Amman by
Katieshaz
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Unhelpful staff, the food,
...and soggy.
The website assures me: "The decor and quality of accessories guarantees the comfort expected of Imperial Palace hotel, can enjoy a choice of delicious breakfasts and brunch, Enjoy the hotel's exceptional fine dining at Aida restaurant which offers international cuisine local dish's. Breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner." In the end I resorted to McDonalds. It didn't make me ill so was fine by me! Unlike most 'luxury' hotels in the East, bottled or filtered water is not provided (the tap water is not advisable!) and they charged 1.20 JD or nearly 90 pence for a 1 litre bottle of water. When you are getting through four bottles a day it soon adds up.
Room Service:
On one occasion I felt very hungry. I looked at the room service sheet and found I could basically order any type of fast food I wanted. I decided on a cheeseburger...

Imperial Leather or Imperial Lather?
Review of Imperial Leather Revitalising Shower Gel by
micksheff
Advantages: Smells nice
Disadvantages: Expensive if not on offer
...Imperial Leather is a brand name that can often be found in my Bathroom. It is a name that I have grown up with and over the years come to trust.
I remember the bars of ivory coloured Imperial Leather soap that my mother used to buy occasionally as a treat and even now if I spot it on offer I sometimes still buy it for myself.
Until my early teens I actually thought that this brand was called Imperial Lather, as opposed to Leather and presumed that this was something to do with the nice lather that the soap formed on the skin. When I discovered it was actually leather I was somewhat perplexed and still believe that Imperial Lather would be a much more suitable name.
These days the Imperial Leather brand is part of the PZ Cussons group of Companies and there are many hundreds of different products within their portfolio. One...

Imperial - A comparison to UCL
Review of London University Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine by
jeaninetang
Advantages: Courses are very competitive, industry-related, lots of experience and knowledge to be gained
Disadvantages: Situated in a "not-so-central" area, industrial architecture, caters only for the sciences
...I have just completed an MSc. degree in Computing Science (1 year) at Imperial College after having done a joint honour degree in Math and Computing (3 years) at UCL. Having been at 2 different and good universities, I feel that I am able to give a valuable contrasting opinion both.
Imperial is a university for the sciences and not the arts. It has an extremely competitive environment (compared to UCL) where most courses are industry-related and students are taught to face the latest technologies and issues in the industrial world. I did not find this at UCL. I found that I was very much learning as a student and not as someone who would be using the knowledge to go out and work in the comercial and industrial world. At Imperial, courses are very up-to-date. You learn about the latest technologies and get to apply the knowledge first...
