Ireland - Historic and Ledgendary
Review of General: Ireland by  ste231191

Advantages: Beautiful Scenery, full of information, stacks of history
Disadvantages: capital too crowded

...I am writing this review on my latest and greatest holiday, I say abroad which is kind of true but actually I am going to the republic of Ireland, as I am writing this review I'm on holiday and writing it on my pocket PC. This is not such a 'review' it is more about what I did, a diary. I am going to Ireland with all my family except my dad because he couldn't get the time off work but we went with my Nan as part of a birthday present. -*-*- Setting off -*-*- We had to set off really early on the Friday morning about 6am but we had to get to the boat for am (in case you hadn't gathered we are sailing to Dublin) we got to the boat at about half 7 which gave us time to sit in the passenger lounge which was not too bad as it had toys for the children to play with, a TV, a few chairs and a coffee machine. We waited in there for about... Read review

Irelands Costa Del Sol Region
Review of Waterford City (Ireland) by  the_mad_cabbie

Advantages: Beautiful historic old city. Generally good weather
Disadvantages: Not a lot.

...in particular not to miss is a whole food shop in the mall called “Full of Beans”. ~ ~ As well as a plethora of good bed and breakfast establishments, Waterford also has two good hotels of note. The Jury’s Group have a modern hotel here, and on the Quay is the older and more established Granville Hotel. You can get a good, tasty bar lunch here for about £5 to £6, and they also have a vegetarian menu on request. (Don’t miss the totally superb pavlova that they do for dessert!!) ~ ~ Waterford is only 101 miles from Dublin, so can actually be done quite comfortably in a day trip from the Capital, but if you have the time, try to spend at least a couple of days here to take in both the city and the beautiful surrounding countryside.... HAVE YOU GOT THE APPETITE OF A GIANT???
Review of The Causeway Hotel, Bushmills, Northern Ireland. by  Paul99ine

Advantages: Beautiful Scenic setting
Disadvantages: No childrens facilities

...(July & Aug) £55 Mini Weekend Breaks Sep - Mar Double 2 Nights Dinner,Bed & Breakfast £ 85 Double 3 Nights Dinner,Bed & Breakfast £127 Double 4 Nights Dinner, Bed & Breakfast £170 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HISTORY OF HOTEL (This information is also from the hotel's web site) The history of the Causeway Hotel in Northern Ireland goes back well over 150 years. One of the earliest issues of the Coleraine Chronicle, the local paper (4 May 1844) advertises the facilities of the "Causeway Hall", located where the present hotel stands. The owner at the time promised "by diligence and attention to do all in his power to promote the comfort of his guests and they may depend on his always keeping a well stocked larder and being well supplied with the choicest wines and liquors." This is still how the Causeway... Read review

WE CHERRY PICKED THIS ONE
Review of Cherryville House, B&B Accommodation, Portadown, N. Ireland by  Paul99ine

Advantages: Excellent Bed and Breakfast Accomodation
Disadvantages: None that I am aware of

...When we recently visited relatives in the North of Ireland we wanted two nights bed and breakfast accommodation. The hotel we were inclined to use (as it's about a two minute drive from their home) could only accommodate us for the second night of our stay. We reserved this and then checked out the Tourist Board online for other hotels and B & B's in and around Portadown which could accommodate us for our first night. We liked the 'look' of Cherryville House and even although it appeared to be a ten minute drive from my aunt's home, I phoned and reserved a double en suite room for our first night's stay. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We arrived at Cherryville House around mid afternoon and were met by the smiling and friendly Clair Trouton, who along with her husband Stephen own and manage this bed and breakfast accommodation. If you... Read review

Radisson SAS Co. Limerick Republic of Ireland
Review of Radisson SAS Hotel & Spa, Limerick by  bananamanuk

Advantages: Location to airport, landscaped gardens, quiet location
Disadvantages: Dirty rooms, very well used, small beds, expensive, remote

...OVERVIEW I just did a search on Ciao and noticed that there were no reviews for the Radisson SAS hotel in Co. Limerick in the Republic of Ireland and so I thought I would share my own personal experiences of the hotel in the hope that it will help others that are thinking of staying at the hotel, or at least help give a more informed opinion. When I booked to stay at the Radisson Co. Limerick in September 2007 it was advertised as a 4 star hotel on each of the websites that I looked at. I see that Ciao is now listing it as a 3 star hotel which has prompted me to write this. HOTEL BOOKING As with all international hotels the Radisson SAS chain offers a useful website that details each of the hotels in the chain, provides some pictures and virtual tours of various parts of the buildings. It’s possible to view room amenities... Read review

How to have a Corking time.....
Review of Cork City (Ireland) by  ElizaF

Advantages: You need never have a boring moment...
Disadvantages: I'm not there to show you around

...the beds is too small for comfortable manoeuvre around the rooms. If this is where you are staying for your first night in Cork, I recommend you take a walk around the Shandon Church with its fabulous bells to be explored. It is more than worth the 120-foot climb to the top for the views and if you are there for the tri-hour you may be allowed to pull on a rope or two. DAY 2: Tuesday Right, day two. You’re well rested and ready for action. So I propose a bit of walking. BREAKFAST CAFF If you are doing budget accommodation and woke up too late for breakfast, may I recommend the greasy spoon called Tony’s on 69 North Main Street. It has a lovely mixture of students, clerks, business people, construction workers and secretaries as clientele. Word to the wise, don’t go for the construction worker’s breakfast unless you... The Beautiful Burren, County Clare, Ireland
Review of The Burren (Ireland) by  Evil_Irish_Twin

Advantages: Very peaceful, gorgeous scenary, unspoilt landscape.
Disadvantages: Can be very cold/windy, not much in the line of 'shopping' except gift shops

..., to when the whole of the land was under water, and the limestone pavements was the sea bed, beneath a tropical ocean. It tells you all about the formation of this luner like landscape, as well as tales about the Dolmens and burial chambers dotted around the county. The biggest and most seen Dolmen of them all is a few miles from Ailwee Caves in Poulnabrone, set in a field. It is now roped off, due to people standing and climbing on top of this ancient burial site. Please see my pictures! In this area alone there are more than 60 wedge tombs and the densest concentration in Ireland. There are also numerous examples of raths (earthen ring forts) and stone cashels. So if its a holiday for discovery, both of places of interest and your own self discovery, or for some peace and quiet, this is definatly a place where you'll get it. It... Read review

THE GRANGE, LONG WITTENHAM, BED & BREAKFAST
Review of The Grange, Long Wittenham by  kismet

Advantages: friendly owners, good location
Disadvantages: none

...My husband is originally from Wallingford in Oxfordshire. Most of his family live in North Devon as do we, but we travel up occasionally to see some of his old friends. Last year we were looking for a cheap B&B in the Wallingford area and this was the closest that we could find. Long Wittenham is a lovely village which is about a 15 minute drive from Oxford. The village itself has three pubs which all serve good food and entertainment. The Grange is a small Bed & Breakfast in Long Wittenham. We have stayed there two years running over the Easter weekend so I thought I would write a review on them. Graham Neil runs The Grange. It only has around four bedrooms, only one of which is ensuite. Mr Neil lives there with his wife and his two dogs, Florrie and Harriet. EASTER 2005 +++++++++++++ This was our first visit... Cropvale Farm B&B, Cropthorne
Review of Cropvale Farm Bed & Breakfast by  yackers1

Advantages: Great rooms, food and proprietors
Disadvantages: No cycle routes close by

...with several coat hangers. The kind that you can actually take off the rail and aren't fixed to it. Directly in front of you is a large, wooden king sized bed. The linen was brilliant white, crisp and smelled very fresh. I have issues with skin allergies and find that the (I can only assume) cheaper detergents create havoc with my skin. Upon feeling the crispness I was concerned that I would be affected - but this was unfounded. Each side of the bed are large cabinets complete with lamps. There is also a radio alarm clock to ensure that you can actually get up on time - it was difficult getting up in the morning after such a comfortable night's sleep. Bathroom The bathroom is very spacious and can only be described as 'sparkling'. It was exceptionally clean and very modern. There is even a glass holder complete with a glass in it - oh...
