The Iriver H10 Mp3 player! Iriver VS Ipod
Review of IRiver H10 5 GB by
djremedy2k4
Advantages: Versatile MP3 player sports a friendly interface that should help make it a stiff competitor to Apple's IPod Mini.
Disadvantages: Touch responsive system not very slick!
...The highlight of the H10 is an attractive 1.5-inch display that, combined with an improved hardware-and-software interface, makes the player a joy to use. The touch-sensitive slider control makes navigating your music library a breeze, and IRiver has wisely abandoned the oversimplified folder structure that it used on previous hard-drive players. Now you can easily browse by artist, album, genre, or song title.
Music sounds good if you upgrade to a better set of headphones than the included earbuds. The player lets you add individual songs (but not albums or artists) to an on-the-go playlist called QuickList. I found that procedure a bit tedious in my tests; I imagine that most people will prefer to create playlists on their PCs and sync them to the device.
The H10 does more than play music: You can also listen to and record FM...

IRiver H10 - The Ultimate Music Device!
Review of IRiver H10 6 GB by
RocaFella
Advantages: Colour Screen, Stylish Design, JPEG Viewer, In Built Radio, 5GB Memory, Voice Recording
Disadvantages: None!
...The IRiver H10 is one of many products trying to reduce the dominance of the Apple Ipod series on this market. I can honestly say that this is the best competition to an Ipod that I have seen, and here's why.
Colour Screen - Vivid 1.5", 260,000 Colour TFT LCD screen. This is one thing a regular Ipod and an Ipod Mini cannot deliver. Very clear and bright displays on every menu.
5GB Hard Drive - That's around 1,250 MP's which is 150 hours of music! An extra GB (250 songs!) compared to most devices.
Design - Available in Black, Blue, Red and Silver, sleek and stylish design with only a few simple buttons to navigate around the whole system. The verticle touch pad makes scrolling very quick. In short, the H10 looks and feels sexy!
Extras - Not only does this device hold more songs than most others currently on the market, it also...

IRiver Drowns IPod - the MP3 wars
Review of IRiver H10 [5GB color] 5 GB by
a4angus
Advantages: Small, Light, Battery Life, Capacity, Stores pictures, text, music, data
Disadvantages: Poor software
...My very first MP3 player and what a choice on the market at present ...... winner iRiver H10.
I managed to pick one up for £100 (see my Unbeatable review) but the going price is £165 at present. Expect this to fall as they are shortly to being out a 1Gb and 20Gb version.
The Criteria
----------------
(i) I wanted a decent storage capacity so do not have to continually reload different music
(ii) Must be small and light so that I will carry it around
(iii) Price must be reasonable - technology rises, prices fall so fast
(iv) Features - a good range of options with no stupid copy protection that stops me copying my (legitimate) CDs onto the player.....
The Shortlist
------------------
(i) Apples iPod - more versions and colours than ever
(ii) iRiver H10 - new on the block and first with colour screen
(iii) Creative Zen...

MP3 IRiver H10 - 6gb - Awesome gadget!
Review of IRiver H10 6 GB by
little_eira
Advantages: Battery life, choice of colours, compact design, excellent sound quality
Disadvantages: No proper case comes with the MP3 player
...For anyone seeking an alternative to the popular iPod, the iRiver really does shine above the rest.
With a modern design in a variety of colours, you won't be limited to the "sterile" white looking iPod, and can always puchase additional skins to use your iRiver as a fasionable accessory!
The sound quality is perfect, with excellent quality headphones included, there is no need to purchase additional sets as with many other brands.
Whereas the iPod's battery life lasts 8 hours, the Iriver just carries on, upto 16 hours, allowing you much more listening pleasure. Recharging the battery completely from flat only seems to take a couple of hours - not even long enough for any withdrawal symptoms to take effect!
As for simplicity, the file transfer is so quick, it's almost difficult to belive it's really worked! A single song...

iThink iPrefer iRiver
Review of IRiver H10 5 GB by
JuzzaNg
Advantages: Really slim, light, has colour screen and looks pretty.
Disadvantages: Buttons are a little fiddly when using through the silicone case.
...files other than iTunes MP3s on your iPod, it no longer plays music! I also wanted a colour screen, not for any real reason, other than I fancied it. I suppose I'm a little technology vain. I also wanted it to have a separate battery and have batteries readily available for purchase (the iPod has to be sent back to the manufacturer for the battery to be changed).
The one and only MP3 player that instantly jumped out at me was this rather sexy number called the iRiver H10. OK, so it's not the smallest, but it's one of the lightest (at 96g) and smartest looking gadgets on the market. It not only plays music in the form of MP3s and radio, but also boasts a generous screen which you can read e-books on (something I have not tried yet), and browse photos in their full colour glory! It is also really easy to use, with a simple 'drag and drop...

Iriver X20 4GB
Review of Iriver X20 4GB by
padbury
Advantages: micro sd card slot, fm radio, volume, videos
Disadvantages: main control dial, menus, equaliser, Apple unfriendly (no AAC support)
...Sound Quality Excellent
Ease of Use Simple - too simple, needs a little more choices on the menu.
Look & Design - looks like an average phone!, not very classy.
Range of Features Excellent but.......
Value for Money - depends on where and how you buy it really.
Advantages: record fm radio, play videos, micro sd expnasion port.
Disadvantages: will not handle Apple aac files which rules out 95% of my library. Expect to re-rip your cd's or convert aac to something the Iriver likes.
Recommend to potential buyers: yes but......

I also chose the Iriver X20 with 2GB internal memory and then chose to review it in the 4GB category. BUT as I have a 2GB micro SD card in the Iriver's slot it IS a 4GB X20 so there!
Yes the colour...

The Reliable and Trustworthy IRiver
Review of IRiver H10 6 GB by
danny2k80
Advantages: Relaible, Cheap, Quick, Easy to Use, Easy Connection and Useful Features
Disadvantages: Lack of Games Features
...i bought my 6 GB Iriver H10 two years ago for £80 and it is worth every penny.
I didn't want to buy an Ipod as i had heard they involved a lot of software and connecting, adn so i opted for the IRiver as it uses Media Player and connects with one cable.
The transmission speeds are very good anda full album can be sent over in 2 minutes.
i have dropped it several times and the battery has never become loose, imy screen is undamaged and unscratched amd the speed of the IRiver is the same as when i bought it.
The reformatting of the IRiver is quick and very easy and the other features of the IRiver are very useful.
I use the text for reading short stories and i use the radio to listen to my favourite frequencies.
Although the IRIver lacks the games and quiz feature i still believe it is great value for money....

iRiver wins hands down, no looking back to iPod!
Review of IRiver H-120 20 GB by
princess_lu
Advantages: Great value for money, sound quality is amazing!
Disadvantages: Not aesthetically the best looking
...I have always been loyal to Apple. I have an iMac and an iBook. But when they bought out the iPod, it just screamed SCAM! OK, it's cute, but it's also tinny, it's overrated and it's too much of a fashion icon for me.
iRiver, on the other hand, is outstanding.
My iRiver has a 20gb hard drive. It only cost me £199 and they are even cheaper now, although this model seems to be hard to get hold of. They have upgraded it with the H10, which has a colour screen. The 20gb model is available for £189.99 from 'advancedmp3players.co.uk', which is an excellent site for all things MP3 related! They also sell ipods if you can't resist :-)
FEATURES
The hp-120 has more features than you know what to do with. It comes with an internal and external mic. This means that you can not only record as you would with a dictaphone, for as long...

iriver 'CHUNKY'
Review of IRiver H10 20 GB by
darren1987
Advantages: Good features, simple to use and good sound quality
Disadvantages: Very poor design
...After experimenting with several types of portable MP3 players, the iriver was my first step past the 2GB marker. I bought the MP3 player online and the overall look seemed impressive. The description boasted touch screen facilities and several functions including voice record and fm radio. In comparison to the ipod etc, i found the price of the device exceptionally cheap. However when the product was delivered I changed my mind about the appearance of the device. I found the device to be very broad and 'chunky'! Sure it does have good features, impressive memory, fm radio, voice record and the sound quality isn't that bad either. I encountered several problems with it when transferring music and had to reset the device several times. I trully believed the device would be a competitor against other brands such as apple, creative...
