.... There are a couple of English places, Donovans which does mainly snack food like baked spuds, traditional english breakfasts and Mollys which does your basic pub grub. There are a couple of jewellery shops round this area but for all your shopping needs head to Rhodes Town. Ixia is next to Trianda and is only about a 15 minute walk. There is more of a selection of restaurants here with a couple of Chinese and an italian. This is also where you want to head for the nightlife with a handfull of bars. Trianda in the evening is low key with the odd bar or 2. What I would warn people about in Trianda's tavernas is you will get served bread before your meal and you have to pay for it (usually about 60cents each). If you dont want bread its tough, you have to have it. Rhodes Town is only about a 10 minute bus ride away and costs about 1.55euros and run... Read review

Advantages: Superb family friendly resort
Disadvantages: Can get too hot!!(is that a disadvantage!!?)

...This is my first review so be kind please!! This is the 2nd visit to Rhodes, first time was to Trianda, this time was to the nearby resort of Ixia at the North West part of the Island. This time we booked a late deal with Thomsons and we would be staying in 1 of 3 hotels/apartments. We ended up in the Anixis, a small family run apartment that was superb. From the time you arrive until the time you leave you are made to feel so welcome and nothing is too much for the staff there. Accomodation is on the basic side but more than adequate. Both Ixia and Trianda are reasonably quiet resorts but with plenty of restaurants and a sufficient number of bars. On average we were paying between £20 and £30 for 2 adults and 2 childrens meals with drinks. Most restaurants we visited were excellent but a particular mention should be given... Read review

Advantages: Golden sandy beaches, great weather, great food
Disadvantages: Euro has made it a little more expensive

...used to live. I could write all day about the history of Rhodes town and still not capture the essence of it. Mandraki Harbour in Rhodes Town runs regular trips to Marmaris, Athens, and is also easily accessible from Turkey. (So, if you're thinking about a day trip!!!) FALIRAKI Falaraki is the party capital of Rhodes and is definitely for the serious clubber. 5km of golden beaches backed with modern hotels and apartments, restaurants, nightclubs, bars and shops. If you are in Faliraki be sure to check out the water park, plenty of water slides and pools to pass the day away beside. However, it does become quite crowded and you will probably have to queue for a while. A day at the water park will cost you in the region of 17.00 pounds. IXIA Ixia is another modern resort full of hotels, bars and restaurants... Read review

Advantages: Luxorious, spacious, friendly, good facilities.
Disadvantages: The road infront, the private beach.

...I have just returned from a very pleasant stay in the Hilton Rhodes resort, and i found it all round a very pleasant experience. Well first, the hotel's surroundings. It is situated in Ixia, between the Diagoras airport and the main rhodes town. Due to it's location, the resort, as well as the one next door, Ialyssos can seem cramped and busy. One of the main contributers to this feeling is the main road, its busy from early in the morning to around 3am at night, and can take up to 5 minutes to cross. This is, of course intensely irritating. However, a 10 minute drive, or six euro(7 if you call the taxi), is rhodes town. This, I believe is a fantastic place and is shrouded in history and myth. Shopping is fantastic as well, with rip off designer gear circulating very cheaply all around, and the wide choice of restaurants... Read review
