Smells of eggs, but it's worth it!!
Review of Rotorua, New Zealand by LIZKEMPO

Advantages: Great unique place to see!
Disadvantages: Smella of eggs!!

...Roturua in the North Island of New Zealand is well worth a visit, full of many wonders from thermal lakes, mud pools, geysers and for the adventurous among you white water rafting and Zorbing. Be warned however with all the thermal activity comes a pungent smell of egg! Not the most pleasant thing to wake up to into the morning but you kind of get used to it after a while, not sure if that is a good or bad thing! The only downside to Rotorua I can think of is the fact that it is very spread out, you can take buses to the main activities but this cost $10 a ride, myself and a friend decided to hire a car for the day and this was brilliant as it meant we could see a lot more and at our own pace. Hiring a car cost about $70 for the day between us. Accommodation in Rotorua is plentiful, we stayed in a backpackers hostel as we where... Read review

A home from home
Review of General: New Zealand by Suse

Advantages: Countryside, activities, food, people
Disadvantages: Shops all shut on Sundays

...We had a fantastic time in New Zealand. We flew into Auckland, and travelled around the North Island, taking in some caving in Waitomo and some power boating in Paihia in the north. We really enjoyed every minute - hiring a car is incredibly cheap (from £6 per day) so transport was no problem. The food and accommodation is cheap and plentiful - we particularly enjoyed our all you can eat curry in Rotorua, which incidentally is home to the famous luge - a sledge on wheels on which you career down a concrete track at high speed - great fun but can ruin your clothes if you take a tumble. We went to a maori dinner and learned to do the hakka, and ate food cooked in an underground oven. All the time you are surrounded by beautiful, unspoilt countryside and friendly New Zealanders, and the pace of life is so laid back. I'd go back... Read review

Disadvantages: Too many people

WE DO know jack!!!!!
Review of You Don't Know Jack (PC) by naryan1

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...This has to be one of the best games on the planet. . . . it's one of those few cds that once you place into your cd rom drive, it just doesn't ever want to pop back out again. The amount of times i've caught myself shouting it's time for DIS OR DAT or its time for a tikerlish testrum! has been phernominal. Believe me this is one game that desrves to be made into a TV quiz and was the main reason i took enough TV presenter courses too... i would do anything to host such a quality quiz.. if you ever find a copy of this game PLAY IT!!! you'll thank me later!!!... Lord of the Rings doesn't do it justice!!
Review of General: New Zealand by mushroom34

Advantages: Fabulous scenery, diverse landscape, something for everyone
Disadvantages: Not many big cities

.... If you can take time to visit Lake Taupo where you can also indulge in some extreme sports such as sky diving - fantastic views over the mountains if you can stomach it! Rotorua is another place of interest - built on thermal springs the area has an 'interesting' aroma (of raw eggs), but don't let that put you off, the clay is meant to be great for the skin and the geysirs are very impressive. South Island The South Island is another incredible varied landscape. Kaikoura is worth a stop for its rugged coastline and marine life. Seals congregate along the coast (visible from the coastal roads) and you also have the chance to swim with whales and dolphins. Be aware that there is not much else to do here and you are not guaranteed to meet any of these creatures, but your chances are pretty good. Queenstown is a famous stop off - renowned... Read review

1000s Of Questions, & As Many Insults!
Review of You Don't Know Jack (PC) by bazmansealey

Advantages: Very funny (if insulting) quiz game
Disadvantages: If you play it a lot then questions could get repeated

...Ok, I bet you're thinking "this is just a quiz game" I can thankfully say it's more than just that! Even from that start of the game if you take a while selecting how many people are playing and/or their names then you'll get insulted by the quizmaster, a rather rude Mr Jack Cake. You play as individuals with either 1-3 players and you have either a 7 or 21 question game. Each question has 3 titles (cryptic or risqué) for which you make 1 selection (and this will be the question you get) everything has simple to follow instructions that are read out to you. The questions vary in difference, the majority will be multiple choice (of 4 answers) There is also 'Dis or Dat' where 1 player is given a subject ie Fruit or Veg and the name of a fruit or veg will come up and the correct choice must be made. There is the Gibberish questions where... Read review

Make sure your post box is big enough!
Review of Dollond & Aitchison Lenses by abiwojick

Advantages: Quick and simple, great after care.
Disadvantages: Make sure your post box is big enough!

...saline solution. 5) The after care system is excellent at D&A and I recieve regular reminders for contact lense check-ups and eye tests both by post and by phone. Dis-advantages of this system: 1) Make sure your post box is large enough for the delivery! I used to live in a flat and found that the box used to deliver the contact lenses just did not fit in the post box! For the next 3 months I had to pick up my lenses from the D&A sales desk in the centre of town and still had to pay the £17.95! However,D&A were very accommodating and would contact me personally by phone on a monthly basis to let me know my lenses had arrived in store. They also gave me a customer care survey to complete with this problem in mind and it's my hope they will consider changing the packaging at some point. 2) The multi-purpose solution is a problem... Red Alert 2 Enjoy Kicking America Behind
Review of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 (PC) by Dar0ne

Advantages: Excellent fun to both play and watch, good gameplay
Disadvantages: Lacks internet compatability with modem speeds below 56kbps.

...It finally hit the shops of the UK in October of last year, the first game that lets the everyday users watch America get razed to the ground. With the promise from Westwood, creators of the Command & Conquer series, that players would be able to watch a proud American White House, or George Washington monument get decimated by invading troops was good enough to me, and on the 23rd of October, 2000 I went rushing to my nearest EB (Electronic Boutique) with £30 in my hand. Sticking the CD into my computer, I am confronted with a voice, strong and powerful of a military kind, and an installation programme looking so futuristic I unistalled it and reinstalled it just for the pleasure of it. While the 350mb install was happening, the viewer gets a full over-view of the situation, what's happening and the basic story line with characters... Read review

Bay of Plenty; Tauranga and surrounding areas
Review of Bay of Plenty & East Cape (New Zealand) by SilverD77

Advantages: Lots of sunshine, beaches and friendly people
Disadvantages: Lots of rain

...Myself and my partner decided to go backpacking around NZ for 12 months on working holiday visa's in July 2003. Our first main stop was Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty ... yup, in winter there! ... at the same time as everyone in the UK was haveing THAT heat wave!:o) Tauranga is funnily enough quite often missed out by ALOT of people touring NZ, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT miss it out if you go!! ... Apparently most people skip it and go to Rotorua, which is itself a beautiful place, but I am going to focus on Tauranga as it deserves it! It's not somewhere, where you'll go for a month or so, but if you want somewhere to go for a week or 2 in the summer, then it is amazing. WOW, was our first impression, this place is beeeeautiful!! ... right on the coast, lots of beaches, fresh air, sunshine, what more could we ask for!?! We... Read review
