The best little hob I have seen
Review of Malata Induction Hob by
laramax
Advantages: Fast, efficient and clean - a great way to cook
Disadvantages: You must use the right pans on it
...the tidiest of cooks I did spill a little flour on to the hob as I transferred the meat but, as the hob didn't get hot, the flour didn't burn at all - excellent. Once I had finished all that was necessary was a quick wipe over on the hob with a damp cloth and it was as good as new.
Would I recommend it?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I certainly would. If like me you live an area where there is no gas this is an excellent way to have a responsive hob which is fast to use and simplicity to keep clean. You can use it to time your cooking if you wish, it is 90% energy efficient as compared to 40% for gas and it is safe to use as only the area where the pan sits gets warm.
I love it - not only is a dream to use but I can put it wherever I want as long as I have a power connection so I can (and do) use it on different worktops in the kitchen...
A good job for the hob
Review of Hob Brite by
silverstreak
Advantages: Economical to use, leaves hob looking like new
Disadvantages: None
..., included), difficult to prise open. The cap snaps back in place easily too, provided you don't allow the opening to get clogged up.
Being a very small bottle, I somehow expected the liquid to be thick in consistency, but in fact it is quite runny, similar to Cif, and it, too, is white in colour. It's important to shake the bottle well, before use, because the contents have a tendency to separate when left standing, and you end up with a wishy-washy, watery mixture, which will prove ineffective in cleaning your hob.
To use Hob-Brite, just squirt a very small amount directly on to the hob, tear off a sheet of kitchen roll, and gently rub the liquid into the stain or mark, until you've worked it all in. Don't moisten the kitchen paper, as this will simply absorb all the liquid. When you can no longer see any white liquid, grab another piece...
Sparkly hobs as quick as a Hob Brite .
Review of Hob Brite by
grafter123
Advantages: Lasts a lond time , great results , good value .
Disadvantages: Smells a little harsh when using
...cleaner with conditioners .
It contains citric acid and must not be used with bleach or other alkaline cleaners .
There are the usual warnings and precautions .
HOW TO USE HOB BRITE
*******************************
Make sure the hob is turned off .
Apply the cleaner with paper towel or clean cloth . I usually use kitchen paper . It is better to use a small amount as you can always add more .
Rub the surface lightly .
Rinse the residue .
Dry the hob with a clean cloth or kitchen paper .
As I dry I sort of polish at the same time and I have been pleased with the results . My hob comes up a treat and looks as good as new . If you are cooking a lot for a large family you may need to use this product more often . I always try and wipe up spillages a little as they happen as it safes time long term .
RECOMMENDATION...
Sparkly Hobs
Review of Hob Brite by
ms19
Advantages: good results, good price
Disadvantages: -
....
The packaging, is unmissable being luminous orange with a blue lid, not the most complimenting colour combination but it's bright and stands out on the cleaning products shelf. The logo plain white writing and a hob photo with a sparkly star on the front emphasising the clean sparkle. On the side of the bottle are 3 ridges which are little grooves to place your figners in to have a firm hold on the bottle.
Inside a bottle you get 300ml of the Hob Brite it is a squeezy bottle. You shake this bottle before using then you squeeze out about a miniature circle of the white liquid. You using some kitchen roll or cloth and wipe the product over the hob. The smell for some reason reminds me of suntan lotion. It is creamy smelling, but clean eough, quite fresh.
Once you have the Hob Brite on the hob you take the kitchen roll and wipe it trying to get...
MY SHINY NEW KITCHEN
Review of Whirlpool Gas Hob AKM216 by
thingywhatsit
Advantages: EASY TO CLEAN. BRIGHT SHINY.
Disadvantages: None so far.
...I was searching for a hob for my new kitchen and had almost setttled for something that I was not completely happy with, simply because of price, when I gave the last shop in our area a chance to shine, and indeed they did.
Nestled amongst black glass ceramic hobs which was my other alternative, was a shiny stainless steel hob which would have been my first choice and I thought after seeing it that the name "Whirlpool" would have a pricetag that would be excessive. I have always associated Whirlpool with expensive, although in this instance I was wrong.
When I asked the assistant the price, I was amazed that is was in fact just over £100 as opposed to the £150 I had put aside which was a delight.
The hob comes in two colours, i.e. white or stainless steel although for me the brushed stainless steel was the only option...
Happy Hobs!!
Review of Hob Brite by
mightymuffin
Advantages: Works very well, fairly inexpensive, easy to use
Disadvantages: Bit runny
...A couple of summer's ago, my husband gutted our old kitchen and put me in a nice new one with all the mod cons, including my new halogen hob! He told me I needed to be careful when cleaning it and the maufacturer's instruction for cleaning recommended Hob Brite, by Homecare.
I tootled off to Tesco and found it very easily, in with the rest of the household cleaning products. It cost at the time about £1.25 but it's since gone up in price a little and the last bottle I bought cost me £1.39 from Sainsbury's - the bottle contains 300ml, and to my knowledge does not come in any different sizes.
The first time I used my new hob I'd cooked us all a spaghetti bolognese and there were a few splashes of sauce sprinkled over the hob. I left the hob to cool down before I attempted to clean it, as directed on the bottle's instructions...
Dream kitchen- or nightmare project?
Review of B&Q Flatpack Kitchen by
andyjay5712
Advantages: Ability to mix and match
Disadvantages: Try to sell you stuff you dont need
...On returning from holiday last week, I found a rather fat cheque in the post from a car accident last year, and decided to get on with some long overdue home improvements, starting with the kitchen. I've tried to scrub mine until it looks new, but you cant make a silk purse out of a pig's ear!
I even invited the mother-in-law round to see if she could put a spell on it, but after much chanting and stone-chucking, it looked no different. I reckon she has watched too many Harry Potter films, and is trying to relive her childhood......
So I sobered the wife up with a cup of hot coffee, and off we trudged to our local B&Q in search of our dream kitchen. And that is what it turned out to be- a dream!
We put ourselves at the mercy of the in-store kitchen planning service, who initially tried to sell us about seven grands worth...
My kitchen units
Review of Sheraton kitchen furniture by
mumsymary
Advantages: looks good , feels strong
Disadvantages: price
...took about 8 weeks to arrive. We were happy with that, as the kitchen was not ready for units to be fitted.
. The units arrived ready-made. I did worry if the would fit through all the doors into the kitchen but, yes they did fit with a bit of a squeeze. It was a relief we had gone for ready made units, as my husband has not been well (suffering from work related stress) and the stress of trying to fit units together would not have been good . If we had bought D I Y units we would probably have has to pay someone to put them together.
However we did have to fix these units in place on the walls and my husband did this helped by our builder He did this as a good will gesture.
The units arrived early morning and when I got home from work at 5were mostly fitted.
We had a plumber attach the sink and fittings and the gas hob...
Kitchens direct a rip off
Review of Kitchens Direct by
smegal
Advantages: none
Disadvantages: overpriced, push sales men
...My father had recommended Kitchens Direct to us. He said they were reasonble at the time (1998). He got 36 units for about 5 K. I got 12 Units for £6668. The total cost would have been 8k, but I decided to buy the double oven through the internet. For this price, I didn't get a single appliance. The neff hob worth £500 was apparently free.
The sales rep was really pressurizing us to give a deposit on the spot or we would miss out on the £500 neff hob . He kept saying that Kitchens Direct doesn't compare to the likes of B& Q and Wickes. He claimed that they have half price sales all the time. Then he mentioned that the customer was unaware of the extra hidden charges associated with half prices kitchens. He said that another reason why we should buy from kitchens direct was the service aspect. The sales rep insisted that the service...
EVEN DORA WOULDN'T WANT TO COOK IN THIS KITCHEN!
Review of Fisher Price Dora The Explorer: Doras Talking Kitchen with 5 Recipe Adventure Maps and 44 Talking Phrases by
Wackywaith
Advantages: Kids who like Dora will get 5 mins excitement
Disadvantages: Very expensive; Not many accessories; Poorly designed
...... not the phone which is strange although it has never bothered my daughter. She just pretends with it. The characters use a mixture of Spanish and English phrases.
The Kitchen itself consists of a sink and a two hob range on top. The sink has a pretend tap. Then underneath this is a cupboard which I presume is meant to be a fridge and a cooker. The cooker has three buttons which you can turn although they don''t do anything.
There is a shelf above the sink that has a pretend facade blender - there is a button that you can press and it makes the noise a blender makes. Next to this is the fake tv screen where you put the recipe cards and then finally there is a stereo facade which has a button you can press - this then plays music.
**Value for Money**
=
I would rate this 2/10 value for money. It is so expensive at £90...
