...I travelled so many time on KLM airlines to my trips overseas and I found it -at least in my opnion- a good airline. The flight was on time , the crew were so nice and helpful, the food and service were grear compared to another airline I took this year because it was cheaper. I truelly regreted taking the other company and that made me realize that KLM was a good company though the prices are a little bet expensive and the time that i had to wait at Amesterdam airprt wasn't quite short , but in general my experience was good.... ...Very happy with the level of service and cost of this airline. I've used it to fly to Bangkok on a holiday and the cost was very reasonable (second only to Ethiopian Airlines but this flew via Addis Abbaba adding 4 hours to the journey time!) The company I work for also tend to use KLM for business travel within Europe and they consistently provide a high level of service and punctuality. Amsterdam Schipol is the 'hub' through which KLM operate - a very clean, well organised and nice (for an airport!) place.... Read review

...KLM has always been a renowned name that I have trusted in the airline industry over many years. This is evident with the hustle of people trying to get bookings with this airline on long and short haul flights - the service and efficiency of operation is immaculate. Recently, I was looking for a short-haul flight to Amsterdam and thought with such a short flight perhaps I may find something suitable with one of the budget airlines e.g. KLM’s own budget airline Buzz (see opinion) whom I have flown with previously, unfortunately Buzz do not fly to Amsterdam. ...I agree with other opinions that KLM is excellent value for money and going via Schipol (Amsterdam)is a great advantage for its quality Duty Free Shopping alone. I have travelled with KLM to Santiago, Chile and Morocco over the past couple of years and woul;d like to make Ciao subscribers aware fo a couple of 'problems'. These have happened to both me and fellow travllers. KLM often have very fast turn-arounds at Schipol (often under an hour) which has resulted in luggage not making the onward flight - not a disaster if you are staying at your destination but rather more troublesome if you are travlleing on immediately. My advice - pack at least your tooth-brush, change of under-wear and essential medecines, etc in your hand-luggage, just in case. Another problem is re-confirming tickets. ...I'm a regular traveler to the united States and after reading reviews of the nasty airline KLM i've got to write one that shows their other side. I live in Sheffield England, Famouse for many things bust more recently the film The Full Monty. Sheffield although being the countries 4th largest city only recently get a aitport and the first airline to announce services from there was KLM to Schipol. I jumped at the chance of flying there and then a simple change in Amsterdam onto the international flight. The flight left ontime, 6.30 am, the check in staff couldn't do enough and what a pleasent surprise when the flight took off, cabin crew that cared. After flying many other airlines from other airports let me assure you this is rare. The flight was smooth, the inflight meal was nice, Piping hot and more than enough for a 70 minute... Read review

...I recently travelled to California by KLM. The whole process from booking in at the airport, to the actual flight itself was very professional, and totally put me at my ease. I booked in at my local airport (Humberside) with KLM UK, my case was tagged, and i didnt see it again until I arrived in L.A. I was given boarding cards for not only my shuttle to Amsterdam, but also my connecting flight from there, consequently, when I arrived at Amsterdam, I knew exactly which gate to head for, which was superbly signposted, and so easy to find. Any problems at Amsterdam would have been dealt with by the numerous transfer desks, should they occur. The flights themselves were of the highest standard (for economy class). Ample food and drink, supplied in an efficient and friendly manner, entertainment in the form of films, T.V. shows... Read review

...I have flown with KLM frequently over the past ten years or so, and have in all that time yet to be truly dissatisfied with its performance. Their frequent flyer program with NorthWest is top-class, easy to use and involves a minimum of hassle. My family and I have taken advantage of numerous free tickets acquired through the scheme. Holiday trips to New York, Manila, London, and Zurich (all from Amsterdam) might otherwise not have been possible. KLM's in-flight service and entertainment is very respectable. Though their entertainment system has not quite reached the advanced technological level of e.g. Emirates (with personal video game machines), KLM compensates this with good movies, more than adequate meals, and friendly staff. ...HAVING TRAVELLED EXTENSIVELY WORLD WIDE WITH VARIOS AIRLINES I WAS UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO FLY WITH KLM ON ONE OCCASSION ... I NEVER WILL AGAIN!! FIRST OF ALL, AS I HAD TO CONECT AT SCHIPOL ... KLM-KLM ... AND THE FIRST PLANE WAS SLIGHTLY DELAYED, THE (NONE TOO FRIENDLY) STAFF TOOK IT UPON THEMSELVES TO GIVE MY SEAT ON THE CONNECTING FLIGHT TO A STANDBY PASSANGER, RESULTING IN A 5 HOUR WAIT FOR ME! ... COULDN'T THEY HAVE CHECKED THEIR BOOKING REFERENCES? THEY ARGUED WITH ME AND THEN IGNORED ME FOR OVER AN HOUR ANTIL THE PLANE I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON HAD LEFT AND THEN JUST SHRUGGED THEIR SHOULDERS IN A DISPLAY OF APATHY. Advantages: Crash diet at no extra cost

...Food on KLM long-haul is in very short supply - at least in economy class! The worst is their morning departures from Asia. They serve a very basic breakfast, then decide its night-time in Amsterdam and dim the lights and close the windows. The idea is that passengers whose body clock is on 11am will go to sleep. It also means they don't have to serve another meal for 8 hours. And then its sparse in the extreme. It is not possible for budget passengers to buy food, so unless you have packed a sandwich its starvation. A very, very poor service. I wrote to KLM asking them for their view, and they wrote a non-reply to the effect that they were sorry if I hadn't enjoyed their flight but thta the hunger pangs were all my fault.... Read review
