GHD MK4 Straighteners
Review of GHD MK4 Straightener by
lucy.g
Advantages: easy to use, maintains heat, great for all hair types, durable, handy size for travelling
Disadvantages: mite be bit costly for the younger customers, but defenately a great value for money
...i was introduced to straighteners approximately 3 years ago and always brought remingtons, but found they were becoming less and less reliable. as i have thick bushy, frizzy hair i was using the straighteners at least once a day and started to find that this brand of straighteners were only lastng on average around 8 months, with one of the 'better' and more expensive pairs lasring only 5 months, so i was brought the GHD summer bag as a gift, containing the MK4 straighteners and the hair products,
i believe they are with out a doubt the most reliable straighteners i have ever used and they produce the bes results. i can now straighten my hair in the morning and have it stay remarkably straight all day, with out having to 'go over it' before going out in the evening, and when i was spending over half an hour straightening my hair...

GHD IV MK4 STRAIGHTENER
Review of GHD MK4 Straightener by
ajudge123
Advantages: SMALL/THIN/HOT TEMPERATURE
Disadvantages: PRICE
...I have been a user of the MK4 GHD for a month now and I have thoroughly enjoyed straightening my hair with this product.
With it's sleek design and rounded barrels you can easily create curls, flicks and waves for your hair, and the GHD ceramic plates have even better temperature regulation, giving stunning straightness, smoothness and shine to die for
Advantages:
* High Temperature - Alongside the ceramic plates, the new GHD's give you absolutely straight hair, making it smooth and shiny, what more could you ask for? The barrels protect you from burning hands, easy to use.Dependant on how straight you would like your hair, one stroke = slightly straighter, two strokes = very straight, three strokes = extremely straight/dead straight.
* Rounded barrels - This quality makes it extremely easy to create curls, flicks and waves...

Bedford Blues
Review of Bedford (England) by
zyxwv
Advantages: The roads and rail connections leading out
Disadvantages: The roads and rail connections leading in
...To write about Bedford to pass the time, my boredom threshold has reached an all time low......
A little history
Situated in Anglia and one hour north of London, Bedford is a cosmopolitan town with a population just in excess of 80,000. First recorded in Norman Times, it has increased in size through the centuries for several reasons but most notably due to the River Ouse which dissects the town, its relative proximity to the capital and, in the twentieth century, the establishment of brickworks which, now almost obsolete, were once the second largest in the world.
Famous sons and daughters
There a few Bedfordians who have made their name on a greater stage. In earlier times, these included men such as John Bunyan (author of the 'Pilgrim's Progress') and John Howard (an advocate of prison reform). More recently, the likes...

MK4 Escort Review
Review of Ford Escort 1.3 by
xsamix
Advantages: No power steering, nice clutch and good gear stick
Disadvantages: Bad in cold weather, fan belt wears easily.
...This is my very first car. Not even passed my driving test yet however during my <1 year of driving I can honestly say this is the best car I have driven. With most other cars there is something wrong with driving the car however this is the ultimate driving experience.
My car is a Mk4 1987 Ford Escort Popular 1.3 Petrol. It has 4 gears + reverse and is a basic 3 door hatchback. It had done just under 30,000 miles when I got it which is practically nothing for a car that age and was in mint condition as my uncle rarely drove it.
The petrol usage is average. I can put about £10 per week and it runs well. I go out a fair bit when someone has the time to take me out.
At first I could not drive it, not because I am a terrible driver but because my dad took a spark plug out so I could not drive it before I turned 17. It took...

Spotlight on BEDFORD
Review of Bedford (England) by
flashpointz
Advantages: pleasant county town, historic connections, centre of sporting excellence, good shopping, something for everyone
Disadvantages: 'that photo' may have left a scar
...that fantastic rowing Gold medal won by our ‘oarsome foursome’ led by Super Sir Steve Redgrave? But wait, Bedford’s own Tim Foster was a key member of the crew. A long time member of the Town’s ‘Star Club’, Foster was in his second Olympics, but this achievement eclipses any other in his career. And he’s a nice, modest guy too.
Athlete Paula Radcliffe just missed out on a 10000 metres medal – coming 4th in the final after leading most of the way. Paula – a member of Bedford & County Athletics Club and a former pupil at Sharnbrook Upper, north of the town – is established as Britain’s top female distance runner. She recently signed up with Nike to the tune of a reputed £600,000 sponsorship package!
Money has definitely dogged the town’s Rugby club in recent seasons. Bedford...

Bedford.More than Bunyan
Review of Bedford (England) by
ashford
Advantages: Near to London;Good road and rail communications,;History
Disadvantages: Night life is a bit tame;
...Bedford,the pleasant county town of Bedfordshire, which lies to the north
of London, is forever associated with John Bunyan, the famous 17 th
century preacher, pastor and author of Pilgrim's Progress. Reminders of
this Son of Bedford in this town are never very far away.
John, who was born in a cottage in Elstow Parish in 1628,is greatly honored in his home town.
Unfortunately the cottage where he was born no longer exists but the spot is marked by a stone erected in 1951, there is also a John Bunyan Museum in Mill Street and a Statue of him...

Mk 4 Astra 1.6 8v Club
Review of Vauxhall Astra Club 1.6i hatchback by
raflad1982
Advantages: Price, fuel economy, cheap insurance, cheap parts, nice looking
Disadvantages: Drab uninspiring interior, basic equipment levels, horrible seat trim, needs the pokier 16v engine
...I had this car up until last year. It was a 2001 Mk 4 Astra Club in Metallic dark blue with a 1.6 8v engine.
The engine to be honest was a major bone of contention for me, leading to me getting rid of the car and upgrading. The 1.6 8v is the same ageing engine used in the Cavalier and frankly just wasn't good enough in a modern car like this.
Carrying on with the bad points, the other major bugbear with this car is the frankly awful interior. One gets the feeling vauxhall deliberatly choose the worse colours to use in the basic Astra, I got horrible grey velour seats (yes the same colour as in the cavalier!!) and a horrible brown/beige/black colour dashboard which was franlkly irritating to sit behind.
However, good points for this car definitely outweigh the bad, especially if (unlike me) you are not after good performance from your...
