NEC MultiSync LCD1770NX
Review of NEC MultiSync LCD1770NX by
owais997
Advantages: circular base, smooth, rounded edges with easy height and tilt and swivel adjustability
Disadvantages: The viewing angle loses contrast pretty quickly
...The 17” NEC MultiSync LCD1770NX, a flat-panel monitor featuring a thin-frame design, enhances your visual experience with superior screen performance, advanced technologies and comforting design elements. This model's Ambix dual-input technology ensures compatibility with today's and tomorrow's computer systems, while an integrated USB 2.0 hub connects you to all of your peripherals.
The LCD1770NX model has a circular base, smooth, rounded edges with easy height and tilt and swivel adjustability. This display does not
pivot.
The viewing angle loses contrast pretty quickly when moving left to right in front of the screen, but I found text to be very legible, even at small point sizes.
Straight out of the box, and without adjustment, the LCD1770NX display had a distinct blue cast, most noticeable in gray areas of an image. However...

Outstanding Quality and Price
Review of Iiyama ProLite TXA3813MT by
andycapppp
Advantages: Very good Quality.
Disadvantages: No speakers
...After weeks and weeks of looking for the ideal flatscreen monitor to replace my 17" Sony monitor i decieded to buy the Iiyama 15" TXA3813MT LCD monitor.
At the time is cost me nearly £500. There we pleanty of cheaper models around but many seemed very unstable as the base of the monitors seemed to small. The Iiyama on the over hand had a unusually large base which made the monitor very stable but still space friendly.
I was very impressed by the on screen controls and the auto setup feature on the monitor. As soon as the monitor was attached to my pc it ran and auto setup mode that centered the screen perfectly and produced a perfect picture.
I though the image quality on by Sony monitor was impressive but the quality prodecure on the LCD is crystal clear. Also i found that the LCD monitor stayed very cool. I can have the LCD...

Nice but Niggly
Review of Bosch 909s by
m_kingdom
Advantages: Light and slim
Disadvantages: Earpiece slightly muffled, as is transmitted speech
...This handset is just 112 x 50 x 17mm and weighs in at 109g. The display is four-line by 15 character graphical LCD with battery/signal strength meters. The backlight is a stunning shade of azure blue, which makes a pleasant change from the normal LCD displays. This phone is dual band, supports EFR speech coding, SMS text messaging, cell broadcast and has the full complement of call barring and divert functions. One-touch dialling is available for the voice mailbox and eight further numbers.
The battery life is superb. All in all, it’s one of the best looking mobile phone around, but the little niggling operational annoyances add up over time....

Desktop Space Saver
Review of Sony StylePro SDM-S93 by
anthonystevens
Advantages: Nice Display, Bright Colours, Wide viewing angle
Disadvantages: None really
...buttons), eco button allowing you to instantly change the brightness of the screen display from 3 fixed settings and 1 user setting of brightness.
Installation of LCD panel simple, plug into power source, and video cable plug into back of pc, if that’s where your graphics card is. Windows automatically detects new display device, no drivers needed to be installed, though you do get a CD with the LCD Panel.
Panel itself is thin, space you gain from replacing a 17” to 21” CRT monitor with this is amazing, and desk feels kind of empty now. The circular base itself is approximately 8 inches wide. The screen itself is anti glare.
Picture quality is fantastic for a LCD panel; maximum resolution capable of 1280x1024 at 60 Hz, the refresh rate not being as much a problem as its CRT equivalent. Thing to note about LCD panels, when you buy a LCD...

Best LCD/TFT 17" on market
Review of Iiyama C171WT by
KH206cc
Advantages: looks, style and class
Disadvantages: Not a big name
...Had a £100.00 voucher to spend at John Lewis, so just after Christmas in the January sales I went to The John Lewis Store at Bluewater.
Had a bit of a look about for 17" screens to 20" screeens. No particular make bothered me. Was keen on a 20" LG TFT but it was not compatable to PC only TV. So i stumbled apon this 171WT and it looked great and it was priced at £349.00 . It was in stock so i just collected it.
LESS ABOUT THE SITUATION KEV, AND MORE ABOUT THE PRODUCT:-

Luscious LCD
Review of Apple Studio Display 17 by
faithbuck
Advantages: no flicker, no glare, true colours, takes up very little space
Disadvantages: pixellation is vaguely noticeable (I'm really searching for a problem though)
...I bought an LCD display mainly due to the claims that it gives a true and consistent colour representation. Also, because I spend so much time online, and was starting to suffer eye-strain. The lack of flicker on the screen is indeed a huge advantage - I never get headaches from home use any more. Now all I need to do is persuade my office to switch to LCD!
The model is Apple Studio Display 17" with 1280x1024 resolution. It was fairly pricey at £698 (from Computer Warehouse) but well and truly worth it. Being a flat screen, the measurement is true (an ACTUAL 17 inches, diagonally) so you really feel like you have a lot of screen for your cash. And of course there's the massive benefit of its shallow depth. There's an adjustable angled leg at the back of the screen, to make it stand up, but the whole unit will take up no more than 6 or 7...

Samsung 570s - an excellent LCD TFT monitor
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 570 S by
AmK
Advantages: Compact, crystal clear, low radiation
Disadvantages: None
...The Samsung SyncMaster 570S is a fantastic 15" flat panel LCD TFT monitor. I purchased it as an upgrade from my 17" CRT.
My work and study involves me spending some hours each day sat in front of a computer. I was becoming increasingly concerned about the amount of radiation I must be exposed to using a CRT for extended periods. A CRT also generates a lot of unwanted heat and a good sized one such as my 17", takes up rather a lot of desk space too.
When the opportunity arose to acquire this Samsung TFT monitor at a very competitive price, I jumped at it!
The quality of this product is excellent and I am very impressed with it after some weeks of use. It is compact, taking up a fraction of the space of a CRT since it is only an inch thick. It is a low radiation, environmentally friendly device (TCO 99 certified) and also doesn...

Hitachi I love your sleek shadow black beast
Review of Hitachi CML174SXWB by
chaoticjelly
Advantages: True 17" size, Good resolution, V good brightness, Ultra fast response time, DVI output, Size, 3 year warranty
Disadvantages: Price, Base does not swivel
...*Description/Introduction*
The Hitachi CML174SXW-B is currently one of the highest specification LCD TFT monitors on the LCD market. I purchased one from CRS Solutions in December of 2002, and I am highly impressed.
The monitor itself is 17" of pure joy, housed in a top quality, sleek black casing.
The looks of the monitor are absolutely superb, and it is excellent for those just wishing to add a bit of style to their desktop.
LCD monitors are becoming ever more popular, and it looks like this particular monitor, and others of its ilk could be the monitors to break the stereotype of slow response, blurry LCD's.
*Specification*
The important bits:
*Screen Size: The screen size is 17 inches, this, unlike CRT (normal) monitors is its true viewable size, measured from top right to bottom left, diagonally. Unlike CRT...

An Outstanding Product
Review of Sony MZ-R70 by
McCloudy
Advantages: Stlyelish, light wieght, small, Dual Headphone Jack
Disadvantages: Doesnt have an LCD remote
...I purchased this MD player at Christmas, and ever since have been very impressed with its performance. Priced at around £170 it was a good buy. It comes with all the features of the latest Sony MD players. The player takes one AA battery or the rechargeable one that is supplied. Using this style battery does make it have a slight buldge on the back but even with this, it still remains a very small player. It has 17 hrs playback with a normal AA battery and 6.5 hrs with the rechargeable battery. It comes with all the necessary accessories, such as an AC adapter, rechargeable batter | | |
